The rares in Shatt need to be pulled out of a phased area by a high level alt/friend for the lvl20 to see/loot

While that is technically true, I have no IRL friends who play and I would (personally, not saying it inherently is haha) feel a bit annoying asking someone once a day to lend me their time to get the rares.
The ones there aren't anything I can't get somewhere else, luckily, I was just after another place to try my daily luck out when looking for some sockets.

I think it's the entire Shat apexis assault, Like kaxle said. Everything inside the city perimeter.
It mattered more before they got fixed down to ilvl 25 like the rest of our blues, now it's just a chance at a socket/tert like you said. F2p have fewer options, true, but for normal vets i28 greens are going to be better most every time.

In the Iron Siegeworks https://www.wowhead.com/npc=87622/ogom-the-mangler#comments , https://www.wowhead.com/npc=84374/kaga-the-ironbender & https://www.wowhead.com/npc=84376/earthshaker-holar#comments have all disappeared. Unfortunate, especially for the https://www.wowhead.com/item=119374/gold-ogron-earring?bonus=572 being so potentially strong.

A bit late to the party, but I can confirm that Felfire Consort is soloable on a F2P/Vet Hunter (without assistance from a higher level) via creative use of the Foxicopter Controller . There's several spots on the East wall that lets you stay in the phased portion of Shattrath (Arch of Sha'tar), it's a small spot, so you'll have to STAY in that exact spot or else the rare will despawn. Pull the rare with the Foxicopter and then get as close as you can to your character, if you can get them close enough, they'll aggro onto your pet and you can pull them into attack distance by using the Follow/Move Here commands for your pet

Has anyone gotten a confirmed upgrade on https://www.wowhead.com/item=119379/torgoroths-soul-prism?bonus=6691 ? I've killed on my lock every day since last July (120+ drops) and on my mistweaver for the last 30 days or so and haven't had a single upgrade!! Avoidance, leech, speed, socket ...nothing. I vendored full bags of the off hand multiple times now, was even going to take a screenshot of the full item restoration pages, but it's too far out so it must no longer be valid

either RNG just trolling you or it legit doesn't upgrade, all of these should though, I got a set of shoulders for my f2p rogue not too long ago... took forever though

Does the rare drop you the item on every kill? One way to separate "normal rares" from "apexis rares" (apart of checking the list linked) is that apexis rares don't have a 100% drop on the item, so some days you get nothing.. Also, it took me 189 kills to get a socket on one of those rares, so could be *you not being good enough at looting*

Been thinking... I have a pally JC, who hadn't seen WoD in 2-3 months. On a lark, I rode out into the magnificent desolation of Frostfire Ridge, & found my way to that rise to the left of Bloodmaul Slagmines, where rarefinder alerted me to https://www.wowhead.com/npc=82616/jabberjaw#comments . I promptly rode up & roflstomped him & to my surprise, he shit me the shield with a gem slot on it!
I also have a druid who has camped https://www.wowhead.com/npc=82058/depthroot for the last month or so, & has yet to see tert nor Gem slot on https://www.wowhead.com/item=119406/depthroots-forearm?bonus=6691 .
Maybe there's something to be considered in ignoring this content for extended periods of time, & returning to it after our 'luck' has 'charged up' so to speak?

I've had the same notions about quest reward upgrades.... but likely it's just coincidence.
