10.0 Predictions/Discussion

Whats up guys. How about some predictions for what the next expansion (10.0, revealed tomorrow 19.04) is going to bring for the twink community (20's in particular). I'll start.
I think (or surely hope) they are going to ease the restrictions regarding player interaction (party up, chat with higher level players).
Since being part of a community is one of the main attractions in this game, i feel like improving the interaction between players could bring more people into the game (and therefore more twinks possibly).

No need to speculate! We have some leaks and some theories around them, but we're past theories and that kinda stuff!
The only thing now is to wait and be excited!

Bo no way they'll remove the communication restrictions, they were added to stop spam bots and griefing, sorry bud, i agree i miss them days, but i do support the reason why.

Video dropping in a little over 3 hours (shameless plug) but I dont think much will change for F2P. We already know what our next xpac is. It's SL. It sucks shit.

I imagine we'll probably get access to The Maw and ... Bastion(?) and thats it. Some enterprising folks will figure out how to *ahem* creatively gain access to the Harry Potter houses, the trick will work for about 48 hours and if you dont do it, you'll be at a huge disadvantage for the rest of the xpac.

Gearing will mostly remain unchanged, levels wont squish, etc.

I think a lot of news outlets will crap on whatever Blizzard announces, just to get some extra views. Blizzard is too understaffed to come out with significant content in anything right now. No squish, new expansion goes 60-70, little to no impact for all of the brackets below 50.

The real impact will be on launch, when Blizzard expands WoW to work on consoles. Maybe at prepatch, Blizzard shuffles or adjusts class abilities but I doubt it. Blizzard decided they wanted to make levels 50-60 add other things besides abilities, and I don't see that changing for 60-70. Otherwise, I think the next expansion will go down as the least impactful to 20s, in contrast to Shadowlands being the most impactful expansion to ever hit the bracket.

Edit: fixed my messed up bracket references

Harry Potter houses…… what r they? And what’s the disadvantage?
Will it be in ur vid?

Oh no, thats just how I referred to covenants off the cuff one day and decided to keep it. I refuse to try and make predictions about what their advantages might be for F2P if we can even access them. I know they give special abilities depending on what class you are and what covenant you choose, but beyond that? I got nothing. I leveled to 60 and havent played a minute of end game since then.

And that’s why I hate retail twinking

What I hope will change;

1. Rework of classes/specs to allow for important skills to be accessible at lower levels. Basically all classes get the hunter treatment.
2. Return of Korraks - the good version, not the recent dumpster fire they "implemented".
3. Xp off and xp on queues merged - tired of only having 2 outlets for twinking, 20 and 50.

What I expect to change;

1. More transmogs and mounts added to the cash shop.
2. Ion releasing a dev insight video claiming "we learned from our mistakes, and will listen to the community in the next expansion." COPIUM

For us F2P'ers, I expect to see all 4 SL zones available & all 4 of the leveling dungeons open to us.
While miserable, this would open up brand new BiS possibilities, & new open-world farms; as well as new dungeon gear options. I don't think we'll be able to go to the Maw, Korthia or Zerith Mortis ( They being max level zones ) though i'm hoping that we'll be able to enjoy the rumored refurbished zones on Azeroth.
On the wish-list: It'd be fantastic if some of the presently restricted dungeons were made available ( Auchindoun, Everbloom Wilds, Tol Dagor, Underrot, Utgarde Pinnacle, the Occ, Gundrak ) along with some of the zones where we cannot accept any quests' perhaps lowering the zone level to allow for play * not merely risky exploration... but I'm not getting my hopes up. Considering that the zone levels of Drustvar & Nazmir were lowered just because of us ( & possibly Spires of Arak, kept at 30 ) I don't see concessions being made for us.
My dream would be to be able to accept quests up to 5 levels higher than our present one, & for some widget being put into the game that allowed us to craft any peice of profession gear at OUR exact level, not the arbitrary crafter's mark pre-sets.

I have no opinions on the 'Dragonflight' leaks, & i'm not excited about it. At all.
I wanted an Azeroth-focused xPac where all the abandoned zones were repaired. The burning chasam in the Barrens, healed. The chunks of Westfall floating, soothed. Thousand Needles, drained & cleansed of Twilight cultists & the Salt-Flats now featuring a mount racing mini-game! The Kaldorei have grown a new Teldrasil on the Ruins of Feathermoon in Feralas. Loch Modan Dam seen rebuilt & the Loch refilled. Deathy's giant dick & balls scrubbed from the Badlands, & Lordearon made into the Forsaken's city ( no more UC... maybe it gets turned into an instance a-lah Gnomer ) & Tiris Fal is remade...
I've heard that Lordaeron is getting a make-over, so is EVersong Woods & the Ghostlands, but... I guess we'll see tomorrow.

I don't see us having access to shadowlands content...I'm assuming just some
New enchants and thats about it for the 20s community and some tuning at end level that screws up the bracket

I agree, I doubt much will change for 20s/F2Ps in terms of PVE. Level cap will be raised from 60 to 70 and Shadowlands content will remain gated to level 50. There might be some broken level un-restricted items from the new zones day 1, but they may be patched in the following weeks (or months). PVP bracket may see some new contenders based on what abilities are switched around, but hunters will still be strong. I would like to see a level squish and the max level cap kept at 60, but I doubt they will do another squish considering how many bugs they had to fix last time, but who knows

God I've been wishing and hoping for them to move the world forward for years. But apparently, they got so much blowback from Cata re: removing popular questlines and content, that I imagine they've been hesitant to really change anything.

I've ranted about it ad nauseum, but that kind of half-assed, noncommittal bullshit is what makes the world seem impossibly both bloated and completely dead. It hasnt changed in over a decade, despite everything the players have done and changed and gone through over the 12 years since cata's release... its still a cata world. They just keep tacking extra continents onto it and then letting them die as they move on to the next continent.

Give me an expansion where a massive earthquake shatters the Dark Portal, shutting off access to TBC, sinks the Broken Isles, and shatters Kul Tiras and Zandalar. the Golden Dragons close the time loop created by WOD, preventing further access. "Heal" the cata broken zones. And then focus on moving Azeroth forward. Have future expansions be about updating those storylines and actually letting the world grow and shift with the players. Give me ACTUAL horde vs alliance content again!

If folks want to access and level through that previous content, *thats* the ideal use for Chromie Time and once you've leveled through it, it's gone. Go play Classic.

has there been any confirmation that max level will be 70? i always thought they made chromie time so that they never have to step back into the threadmill of higher max lvl - new abilities - inevitable need to prune abilities... i thought SL will be our baseline chromie time from now on, it'll become 10-50 content, the HP houses (tm Chops) will be deactivated, and the new expansion will become 50-60 content.
guess i was wrong :D

whatever dude just give shamans instant lava procs and rogues some real energy regen and I'm willing to play this god forsaken bracket forever
