Don't make new thread with no armories at all. Make a thread with 4 different setup suggestions on gear wich people can use as a guideline. Like 2 f2p & 2 vets for each spec. A totally neutral thread with no armories and just guidelines for new people This should serve the purpose you all talk about
This was exactly the Idea we were going to turn the armory into.
Obviously that was a bad route so we're trying to get back on track here

if @Ivo can pull off what he was talking about on the twink DB (which, if I understood him, is exactly this) then being to link to/embed that on a thread here would be huge.

Anything to help new people navigate the rather absurd amount of gear we need to navigate

I'd personally would like the users of the website to be able to give some kind of input b4 changes start being made. Its the same problem a lot of us have with Blizzard. AKA changing and messing with things w/o letting their users have a voice. This is the staffs website but a little communication goes a long way. Just my opinion

Hence the backtracking on my part and coming to a community decided conclusion :D

Appreciate the valid and constructive criticism Sallya :PeepoGlad:

valid and obvious :D

It was straight up coincidence that he posted while I was in the process of purging man, I didn't pick and choose him first lol

I don't know how much more open to a community decision I can be, homie. You can try to interpret this however you want but I'm straight up telling you that I don't care what gets posted in the armory thread. It was a rushed idea and I acted on it. Now I'm trying to redeem it for the better of the community. Because like I said before, decisions are not set in stone and I'm not a fucking Nazi just because I'm on staff.

I'm just trying to fix my mistake ya'll :(

Just in case you genuinely believe this how you initiate an open conversation with the community,

Anyone who knows how to understand the tone of writing would recognize that there is a LOT of passive aggression and defensiveness in your OP. Getting defensive and throwing vague shade and then “making it all better” by saying “in this thread if everyone’s nice I’ll consider rolling back or otherwise adjusting my foolish change” is not how you introduce a civil discussion or demonstrate your openness. It just makes this is a validation thread, and that’s fine as a stepping stone to constructive criticism but let’s not call a dog a horse. If you want a clear open conversation, leave your opinions and defenses out of it. You also undermine the perception of your commitment to votes in the future by whining about how this change was received beforehand. Something like “what does the community think of X change, we realize it may have been implemented differently than we envisioned which was negatively received by several players. This thread is for discussing the proposed change.” would have been more positive and really conveyed the message you seem to have intended

I vote to remove the thread altogether. It's clearly redundant, look at the output and byproduct. It's a thread for ppl to list their poorly geared alt in hopes to have it galvanized in glory and listed above...

You all are lucky I'm not in charge of this thread, legit.

The sole purpose of the Armory is to tell me what I can go get. Guides are nice, but if I look at the internet for 2 seconds I can find out how-to in game find that item.

Whoever runs it there are some fine lines to cross... not every build with gems/terts is the "right build". I have 20 enhancement shaman builds... one is good the others are fun... but without a guide somebody looking at my armory on a random day would get some funky build that is not optimal.

The poll speaks for itself

No one had any problem untill he started removing people and changing what was since the begining of SL. Good thing that you aren't.

there it is

chops it’s literally just admins that have been agreeing it’s about ego. You continuing to push the point while the community respectfully attempts to explain that it is NOT all about ego is a good example of why these sorts of threads should exist.

Close the Armory thread, delete all entry posts and make it a PM to gain entry imo should be carried out.

Complete over-haul of the thread and a top 3 only for all classes/specs is my suggestion.

*GF'd toons at the bottom while current obtainable at top

I dont think the people defending this change understand what this is about. Yes i think we all appreciate that your putting in the effort and the work for it Cignus, and surely we all love the positivity around your beeing. Also all the work you put into videos, streams and posts. I also sincerely hope there was no personal attacks directed at you. As i stated earlier youve done nothing else but good things.

Noone is perfect, and finally you treaded a bit wrong so that i could feel a bit better about myself.

An armory thread is driven by people linking their characters hoping to be a part of it. There wouldnt be a thread without the community, so hence why people get salty about this.

I also have to say because of freedom of speech. The way this was handled is also a bit childish from the mods. I am a special snowflake and im proud of it, that doesent mean i am egocentric. I like showing off my chars. If showing of your hard work and determination is egocentric, then i am egocentric i guess. Probably just in denial.

Have a wonderful christmas everyone, see ya in the gulch.

passive aggression and defensiveness in your OP.
You're not entirely wrong, there was some in it, however if you were getting berated for a stupid decision over the last 24 hours it's hard to come at it with a calm and positive mind.

“in this thread if everyone’s nice I’ll consider rolling back or otherwise adjusting my foolish change”
I never said this, and I straight up just wanted a vote man, I legitimately want what the community wants.
You also undermine the perception of your commitment to votes in the future by whining about how this change was received beforehand.
You're assuming here. Which is fine, but genuinely was not the intent.
“what does the community think of X change, we realize it may have been implemented differently than we envisioned which was negatively received by several players. This thread is for discussing the proposed change.”
This was the idea behind the post, apologies it didn't come off that way. Like I said man, I'm human, we all make mistakes, I'm just trying to fix them.

You can call me on discord if you want to hear my tone and intent I swear to the gods I'm just trying to move forward with what the community wants and move past the bad decision that was made. :PeepoGlad:

It's their ego that prevents them from admitting that they aren't right
I was wrong :D (zero sarcasm here I promise)
