Let me know some unnecessary grinds you’ve undertaken on your level 20s

Basically what I’m asking is what difficult achievements, fishing endeavours and reputations ( such as the ‘insane title’) just to name some have you attained on your level 20.

As someone who enjoys these unnecessary grinds, I’m interested in what others have achieved and how you have pushed your level 20s to its limits :)

When you could enter ICC I stayed up all day no breaks to grind my F2P to exalted with Ashen Verdict just because I wanted to write “world first Ashen Verdict Exalted F2P” in my twinkinfo signature, and one Chinese F2P managed to beat me so I had to instead use “Europe First” and I had that in my sig for ages, same with Kor’Kron satchel.

Unrelated to this thread (sorry OP), but I just found about the F2P History thread from your signature.
Are you planning on updating it cause it's a great read, and makes me wonder why it's not stickied on the 20's forum.

Edit:
To at least be partially related to the thread, with a level 2 Trading Post in your Garrison you can get Laughing Skull/Sha'tari Defense rep. For the Sha'tari one, the only way you can get rep as a pure F2P is to kill some orcs that are In Talaador near the Tanaan Jungle border, which give literally 5 rep each. So that is going to be a hell of a grind. You can also get more rep per kill from demons near Shattrath, but that's a different phase which I do not think you can get to alone (maybe if you got invited by a higher level Veteran, not sure haven't tested).

When certain rares were dropping ilvl44 you could pull the rares out of the phase, maybe something similar could be done with the rep mobs. Would still require high level assist though

Its one of my all time favorite posts, so I might toss it in the FAQ thread but 20s need less stickied threads, not more.

I think one of my most unnecessary grinds was early in my F2P career. I stubbornly refused to use my higher level toons to help (that didnt last long), so I ground out Argent Crusade rep on the mobs at Corins Crossing one by one on my warrior for the tabard. This was back in... WOD? So it was the days of +3 stam JC necklace, +1 dmg enchants, etc. Skillpatch was about the only piece of gear you could really consider "op" for its level that we could acquire.

It was a long, slow, miserable grind and all because I refused to use my end game toon and all for a tabard. Really, really unnecessary.

Im just gonna do as many as I can at lvl 20.
Ravenholdt missing from Classic, Keepers of time missing from TBC, just started Wotlk.
The most unnecessary ones must be the Steamwheedle Cartel Reputation... Ive got so many hours in that place that it feels like home

I did the ethereum prison key farm to get those outland reps to exalted

I also got shattered sun offensive when it was current content in mop using the trove of the thunder king rep tokens. Took me like 50 or 60 rares of keys

also got tillers exalted when you could only do the dungeon for the rep once per week

Doing the rep grinds. First bloodsail to exalted then steamwheedle to exalted. Also the prison keys.

Also SFK and BFD runs back in the day. Now replaced by the legion epics farm as the thing that will consume f2ps time.

This is more so geared towards the vet crowd.

When you’re planning to buy stuff from the action house on your veteran account.

Double check if it’s easily craft-able, loot-able, and/or vendor-able.

with the current prices in the action house, it could save you some gold in the long run.

ex: there’s a vendor in old hillsbrad foothills that sells shirts and let’s just say I’ve spent a logos bit gold only to find out they only cost a few silver.

btw, here’s the link for that vendor:

The Legion Launch Titanforge grind. Back during the Legion Launch, gear had a small chance to Warforge (+5 item level) and an even smaller chance to Titanforge (+10 item level). I forget how long the pre-launch invasion event lasted, I think it was for a week or two, so most Twinks were in a mad rush to get this gear because it was BiS for the bracket and unobtainable after the pre-Launch event. Stayed up all night farming/afking invasions just to get the gear. Admittedly, once I got full 9/9 Titanforge I played quite a bit more BGs, but what sucked was the PVP templates based on ilvl at the time, so even getting BiS was maybe like a 10% diff in BGs, rather than the massive advantage we had pre-Legion. Nowadays, that grind doesn't even matter because characters have been scaled to level 10 and the gear is a measly +3 item level over normal gear

I'm still salty I was 8/9 titanforged despite doing every possible invasion I could do. That was such unfair rng. I knew people with worse luck than me though.

Forgot to add the adaptable grind back last xpac. I was 1 off that as well (1h wep). Opened up hundreds of crates over the xpac. I believe myself and Hvnter were the closest to completion.

Hulking Shield farm for transmog... I've seen it once after countless BFD runs and a leveller won roll.
