Was wondering if anyone knew of a relevant one or would care to break it down on the thread lol. Mainly curious what beats hunter lmfao but all knowledge would be useful

I've heard of good shadow priests having success against hunters in 1v1 scenarios.

There are no matchup charts or anything; it's all too ambiguous.

Hunter's are complicated , even as a healer class it is hard to outheal them .
but if u managed to use https://www.wowhead.com/item=113082/precious-bloodthorn-loop / https://www.wowhead.com/item=7676/thistle-tea / https://www.wowhead.com/spell=207777/dismantle properly as a rogue u can definitely beat the mfs

To my surprise I have seen more skilled warriors shit on hunters, mostly cause all hunters players are trash, the few and far between good warriors can give them a run for their money. Some hunters are mechanically skill some just smash buttons. Yet I have seen top warriors reck face occasionally, not often, but sometimes.

Disc, resto sham, holy paladin, prot paladin, ret(maybe), shadow priest(sometimes) can beat a hunter. That doesn't mean they win every time. Hunter's toolkit is too good to counter.
Ret is probably the best dueling class next to hunter. Shadow priest loses to some other specs.

Keep in mind that most hunters in the bracket are just bad at hunter. Hunter has a high skill cap and it played well is unstoppable at 20. It's just that lots of people reroll because of how easy it is to do well on hunter regardless of skill.

When Executes a proccin, don't come a knockin, Warrs are a prob for hunts 1 v 1, issue is in BG when you are chasing one down, being kited by mages, locks, other hunts, etc.
Still, I have killed 5 toons in like 10 seconds with Execute and Death Sentence PvP talent.
Other times, it doesn't proc for like 2 mins, and it's a strugge as Arms.
This is just one style of play that is very hit or miss.
Fury has better survivability but Arms is my choice on warr for PvP hands down.
Mages are a hard counter to hunts too, should be able to beat Marks and BM,
Survival is harder to kite and win against.
Ret Paladin should beat hunter 1 v 1, Survival again, being the exception imo, at this 20's bracket atleast.
Frost and maybe Unholy DK as well imho.
Gear and enchants, matter.
I see a ton of heavy metal, pallys, warrs, Dk's with no Crusader enchants on weapon(s) in BG's.
Even, ... or especially if you're leveling this makes all content easier and PvP a better experience for the player
as both damage and survivability are boosted.
And, like on my WW Monk and Feral, which are great fun to play, if other faction is running a bunch of hunts....
I log and get on my hunter as well because no amount of gear and/or skill is going to help when other team has 6 hunts that run around the map together taking peeps out.
Elite players on any class can beat an average pugger 1 v 1 anyday.
Skill, knowledge of other classes CD's, etc. makes a difference.
BG's are generally won by which team has the better heals. (that actually are healing team and not just themselves)
Duels and Arena's are different.

Correction: when I stated mages can beat hunts, in this bracket, I meant, Arcane specifically.
Fire and Frost are pretty weak, in 20's bracket.
Later on, as other classes get more skills and talents, it's all different.
Haven't been in touch with endgame PvP at all for years since Lich King days.
Used to be tons of endgame PvPers out front of SW or Ogri dueling for hours on end.
Don't see this very much anymore.
You could get a pretty decent idea of endgame class 1 v 1.
Frost mages, Aff locks, and Ret Pallys were hard to beat back then.
Also, Survival hunter was a ranged spec in those days,
with Explosive shot & all the traps. In the right hands was hard to beat as well.

One of these days I'm going to come into a thread and feel welcomed. One of these days...
i actually said in the thread some are mechanically inclined. few and far between. if i had to list hunters i hate going against on both side it would be in no specific order

geniousxo
almond
huntarcl
dirtydeedz
fusionace
artemiss

and thats all i can come up with....maybe a few others, but forgetting their names. these are the only people I would say can trap off targets, scatter correctly, not miss silence, team fight correctly.....etc.....

at the end of the day they still play hunter, but i can differentiate between who is more skilled than not skilled.

as far as warriors i can see that do anything.
in no specific order

sallya
tgod
destinyfraz
fernin - think i spelled that wrong highmountain tauren
mn
toymachine
juicelife
dre

these are all my opinions as i only play rogue, so take it for what it is.

Can win as elemental, if you can get close enough to drop a counter last sec of Aimed, or time your heal with Aimed landing - gotta fake the kick first tho ofc. Swelling waters works too for countering the arcane after aimed.

A lot of opinions and “this one time”

Facts Are (granted this is my opinion I guess lol)

Hunter toolkit is far superior than any other for level 20.
Remove turtle things are a lot more even (wait for cd in BG?).
A lesser skilled hunter can, and often dose beat a higher skilled opponent.
A lesser skilled player on another class will never beat a higher skilled hunter.

so class match up? Nothing beats hunter. Maybe the 3 specs can fight it out….?
