20s behavior in dungeons

I'm new here but have been twinking for a while....I think everyone has a valid point in their opinions on this matter...I don't necessarily play 20s (10s are more my speed), but I do see a lot of twinks leaving early in dungeons, but if I see we have a tank twink, I am starting to expect it. I don't really care either way since my twink 10s can still carry on with a healer, but you definitely have to play the game the way you want to, or what is the point. I like to carry levelers so I have no problem running the full dungeon. To each their own.

lmao, I leave after Rezan all the time, fuck the rest of the group.
If it doesn't benefit me, why should I waste like 10min to clear the rest of the dungeon?

Once you realize that you are the most important person in your life, life just becomes so much easier.

Maybe I’m in the minority and I’m the only one that thinks this is an issue.
I have to respectfully disagree. Currently I am gearing up a plate tank/healer, and there are simply some bosses that drop NOTHING for me (not a hyperbole). On top of that pugs don't listen, and do whatever they want, and just expect me to be OK with it.

So, why would I do those bosses when the mentality of the game is every man for himself, and they have absolutely no value to me?

erm, i don't mean to point this out ..., but https://www.wowhead.com/npc=12225/celebras-the-cursed kind of gets skipped alot in the dungeons i run.

Tbf the baggie drops from the satyr boss not celebras so lvlers get the xp completion bonus without having to kill him, When I tank this dungeon I do ask the group if they want to kill him though.

Like I don;t like it when people leave after there boss but I also understand that after your 50th run of old hillsbrad you might be up the wall so I don't go to hard on people for it.

I see that I'm not alone but still in the minority. And that's ok. I mean, it's something that's always happened, but happens 10x-20x more with the 20's twinks. I actually get surprised when one finishes a run (I'm just assuming he needs the last boss). What I don't get is that this community is generally very helpful online. Lots of guides, willingness to share wisdom & help, etc. then exhibit toxic behavior in game. :thinkW:

Because let's be clear, you can try and justify it to yourself however you want, leaving a random dungeon mid-run intentionally IS toxic and shitty.

So, for me, I will finish runs if I'm tank or healer, usually.
As dps, I just leave, not a big deal to find another dps.
If someone leaves, and it prompts me to find a replacement, sometimes I'll tell group, we can just 4 man it, ups loot chances for all.
However, if the group is toxic, or just terrible dps, shit tank with crap gear, etc. when I'm healing; then I'll leave in those cases as well.
Example: cleared Atal Dazar maybe 50+ times trying to get Disc to drop with gem slot on HPal, ...
If the group had issues with Rezan, usual 1st boss, or even just getting to Rezan, I left.
Not worth spending an hour and multiple wipes on trash, to carry group to end.
Some groups like having 20's or even 10's in group as tank, heals, etc, very fast runs.
Although, some levelers bitch that you are skipping trash mobs, less xp they cry.
One player raged at me, you FN twink, let's kick her, she's lowering our XP gains.
I told em to F off ... and they left the group.
Then everyone laughed when I told em I didn't have XP off and was just a f2p on a trial account...

Is it?
If you solo a dungeon, you still have same chances of loot as if you were in 5man group

number of people matters only in legacy loot mode, isn't it?
upd: if you are playing on eu and still want to do atal runs - i'm up for it

Pretty sure they designed the personal loot system so that the number of players in your party does not affect the drop chances. Specifically to avoid any incentive for kicking players or running with less people.

re: drops. I've specifically seen the same piece drop from the same boss at the same time for 2 toons. So I assume all 5 warriors have the same chance at say Hope Bearer's helm.

For what it's worth, I see both sides of this. Everyone's time is important. I also agree that a dps leaving isn't a huge deal. What is confusing to me though is the generally helpful state of guilds, this forum, discord etc, then a fuckall attitude when grouped in game. If nothing else, I'll at least check my group for other xp locked toons or 20's and ask if they need anything specific. This is a small community, the more people play, the better for everyone (unless it's survival). That's my 2 copper

just make up a funny story 4 y u hav 2 leave early
entertainment value of a joke will make up 4 ur absence

I don't think this is really all that inconsistent. With the creation of the LFG tool and the merging of servers into larger pools of players (among a bunch of other design decisions) the playerbase of the game has atomized and anonymized (did i make that word up) to a significant degree. The game has gone from a true MMO that relied on the mutual cooperation of sometimes large groups of people in order to see and complete content, to a game designed for a large player base to see and complete content almost entirely individually and certainly without ever having to develop a team/group dynamic.

Something like dungeons have gone from an "experience" to become a means to an end. ESPECIALLY low level dungeons. They're completely meaningless, largely because game design not only facilitates but *encourages* you to treat those groups and that dungeon run as extraneous. You can mostly solo (or at the very least duo) the content even with modestly geared toons. The only reason you have to have a group anymore is because blizzard has arbitrarily said you need 5 people for the dungeon finder to proc based on the legacy of that being the number expected to be able to clear dungeons.

Because of this, you end up in a situation where everyone in the run is just there to get their daily treat. Whether that be bonus xp or gear. Like, put this on the other foot... If you got all the bonus XP for the day when you beat the first boss, rather than the last, do you think levelers would stick out the whole dungeon just because a twink needed the last boss? Not a chance. Its not that levelers are more helpful and less selfish then twinks. Its that levelers just need the whole dungeon, where twinks rarely do.

This is a long, roundabout way to say that twinks are one of the only "communities" left in the game that feel a connection to a larger group of people even outside their various guilds. So twinks helping other twinks maximize their gear while minimizing headaches makes sense. We, as a community, are in this together. This is our little corner of this game. Helping each other is what we do. Levelers are not members of this group so for better or worse (im not assigning a moral judgement here) we don't help them.

Never seen leavers in 20s for last 3 months. But there are many of this trash on highlvl because Conduits and Memories for legenadaries. Wrong target, man.

And, you know... If you are not able to finish TBC-dungeon in 4 people party - I've got a bad news for you.
