TBC Classic is about to get massively grandfathered

Can we talk about this?

Currently, green items are rolling lower than intended suffixes, and the normal values are currently grandfathered on a lot of items. Some examples of this are 2/2 Wrangler's (only 3/2 and 3/3 should exist), and the inability for 3/3 to roll on new drops. Already, this means older Wrangler's are GF'd along with most green pieces.

On top of this, blue items are rolling higher than intended suffixes, and the normal values are just not as good. Almost every suffix blue suffers from this issue. Charged Gears are suddenly (and only) rolling 7/7, Emissary cuffs now going 6/6, Aquamarine Signets going 13 on single stat (vs 11).

What can Blizzard do here? If they decide to leave things as is, greens are going to skyrocket in price and become unobtanium - perfect twinks will essentially become insanely rare on the spot. If they decide to fix blues, what happens to things like 7/7 rings? Do they force convert them to 6/7, selecting for the "heavy" stat at random?

I knew I was remembering correctly. I remember aquamarine signets being 8/7 and 11 for single stats. Sorta confused me when the ah was flooded with something that never existed in original tbc.

Can anyone confirm revelosh rolls?

Looks like the twink community needs to cry out and submit a hundred bug reports to Blizzard!!

Twink's UNITE!! Report anything weird you see, demand they find and fix every item!!

Revelosh gloves are currently +21/+11, instead of +19/+9.

Damn I farmed them before tbc dropped, and they turned to the correct stats.
Pre-farmed items were upgraded as intended because only the base item changes on prefarmed gear and the suffix rolls themselves are the new stats. It's the new drops that are screwed up.

Making sure I am getting this right
  • Blues are always rolling higher than in actual burning crusade -and-
  • Greens are always rolling lower
  • SOOO I should stop checking auction house for greens I want since they will never show up. That is a time saver :p
  • But if its not fixed I'll never get to have a +18 healing shield on my 29 paladin! And if I made a 29 rogue he will never get a 9/9 monkey helm.
  • Maybe if they patch it I can tell them my 6/6 mail shoulders with naxx should have been 7/7.

I have to wonder if all this wonky stuff is evened out after a few weeks of TBC Classic being out.

Given it's pre-patch, I'm not counting anything as it is for being the same after patch. But we'll have to monitor and farm accordingly.

What a joke
I've tried over and over for the last few years to go back to retail, and the game doesn't even look like WoW to me. It's not...bad, so to speak..But it's alien to me. Which sucks, cause I miss it. But I've not been able to truly love and enjoy retail WoW since MOP. :/

Basically yeah.

TL;DR New Blues GUD, New Greens BAD

It's too late to fix this properly. If they revert the change, there are now GF'd blues. If they keep it, there are GF'd greens. They could in theory revert it AND nerf the new drops, which would be the only legitimate solution. But Blizzard will never do this. I anticipate that we are just fucked here, and that the current state is how it will be.
