lvl29 Twink in BG?

Holy molly with that level of mental gymnastics you could easily take a gold medal home my dude. Stop twinking and go practice for the olympics, 2022 will be here in a flash!

That doesnt make it not an exploit or "ok". It's abusing a bug and exploiting for an advantage over other players. Thats like people who say "its only illegal if you get caught" which... not how it works.

If you want to glitch and exploit around and think its fun, then by all means. Just dont go getting all whiny about it when people call you out on the scumbag behavior. You know exactly what you're doing. Own it.
That's kinda of "social justice" conclusions. Blizzs decides what is way to go and what is "no-no", not ppl.
Completely idealistic approach, when it's all about "we exploit because we can and want to". And it isn't a justification, cause you do not need one.
And mind the next part: you do not even talk about some shaddy stuff which was pulled out of sleeve at some WG or arena-events. Just well-known mechanics working exact same way that works for years.

griefing is fun

Well, i do not think that you should decide what is griefing and what is not, but we all have report button and access to information.
So i do not understand why is it necessary to make situation into some kind of moral choice and basically just badmouth at empty spot.

Excuse me I am not a snitch, I will call out ppl using this for cheap laughs though.

I go one step further (in 10-19 bracket), I submit videos and enjoy seeing them get "time off" from blizz, there are many who are doing this in 10-19 than 20-29.. for the simple reason, I do not want to see another twink in my game (from the opposite fraction), just that simple
[doublepost=1619329337,1619327902][/doublepost]Talking about rules and what's intended and what's not, I am sure it's not just getting into a xpon bg with xpoff.. There were things like shoulder and legging enchanting which many did in the past.. That was not intended but still.. Think most of you get the point, that's clear exploitation, but it's less likely you get reported for it, we should just drop this subject about right and wrong.. There will always be people who will not stay within the rules, some will, some don't, if you have ever exploited before (I enchant pants and shoulder all the time) then you can't point fingers at others.. The only thing you can do is to report someone when you feel like it :D:D:D

For the record, twinks are gay little boys who like older men. This is hilarious to read out of context

Blizzard very obviously desires a game in which xp-off players and xp-on players are separated in instanced pvp.

Meanwhile vets are 'xp-on' while we can't level up? There's just a hint of hypocrisy reading this thread. Yes, doing things that aren't intended is seen as bad by most people (including me). Meanwhile, people are using ilevel 44-49 items that are unobtainable now (or still obtainable) yet that's not seen as an exploit? Do you think that Bramble staff is meant to have that item level? Do you think it's intended for people to have artifact weapons 15 ilevel higher than everyone else? You would need to be level 43 to obtain a ilevel 49 weapon usually. Or ilevel 44 neck pieces from holidays? There's heaps of ways that vets (and some F2P) are 'exploiting' that we just call GF'd most of the time and accept (and yes I realize Bramble is not GF'd yet.)

In terms of power differentials, the difference between vets and levelers is bigger than 27-29s and vets. Yes it's an exploit, but I wouldn't be so quick to judge if you're in one of the former categories.

What? So because a few vets have gfd artifacts the gap is smaller between vets and 29s? How about the shit geared vets? What about the levelers with stacked enchants on their heirlooms. What about all the lube on your mothers hands because you were clearly dropped alot? How can you possibly think this is a reasonable argument. Just report the bugged items and hope they get nerfed. Sigh.

This is pretty weak tea but lemme see if I can clear it up without feeling like Im running into a brick wall repeating myself yet again.

I think the problem a lot of you are having is that you think my complaint is that xp-debuffing exploiters are powerful and its hypocritical to whine about them being powerful when you yourself are powerful. But thats not my argument.

As I've said before, I see nothing wrong with heavily GFd old twinks who want to level their toons in one last hurrah and maybe dodge some of the xp by queing specific instead of random. Nothing wrong or scummy there, I think its actually kinda cool to see those guys in BGs.

My argument is that when a ruleset is established in a game or sport that you voluntarily agree to play, you should abide by it. When people don't and cheat their way to an advantage over other players, thats pretty scummy. Having advantages over others is not the scummy part, mind you. Its the cheating to get it that's the problem.

Hell, if someone wants to lock XP at 27 and go farm themselves up a perfect gear set for the next two levels and then pop xp back on and play through that way, whatever. I think the cost benefit analysis is a bit skewed there but you do you.

Call me a dork or a hall-monitor or a rules nerd or whatever but cheating sucks. You shouldn't cheat. Not when your voluntary participation implies an agreed upon acceptance of the rules.

Calling grandfathered gear an "exploit" is a helluva stretch. This is the kind of broken reasoning you use when you're trying to make an argument stick and really have nothing to stick it to. Its just an attempt to deflect and get a twink on the back foot defending legitimately acquired gear when the conversation at hand is about exploiting to get around game design. A for effort, i guess but this is so fucking stupid I'm not gonna waste time on it.

Yes, I thought this was your argument. You say it's not that, interesting, OK, let's see what it is.

Nothing wrong with heavily GFd old twinks, OK, let's see where you are going with this.

My argument is that when a ruleset is established in a game or sport that you voluntarily agree to play, you should abide by it. Aha. Your argument is that there is a ruleset established in the game and that it should be followed. OK. Let's see what that ruleset for exp-reduced debuff is. Let me check real quick. Oh, it's that you can queue into exp-on bgs with it. No jumping through hoops required. With exp-off debuff, you queue and the system matches you with exp-off folks. You have to fight that to exploit your way in. But with exp-reduced debuff, you queue and the system matches you with exp-on folks. You don't have to do shit. Wait, could it be that *these* are the rules intended? No?

Hell, if someone wants to lock XP at 27 and go farm themselves up a perfect gear set for the next two levels and then pop xp back on and play through that way, whatever. I think the cost benefit analysis is a bit skewed there but you do you.

Correct. That's why nobody is doing this really. It's a non-problem.

The exp-reduced debuff remains not an exploit. It just isn't. Including by your own criteria. Cheating sucks, sure. This isn't it.
