Where yall 69'ers at? Have you already planned your twink?

The only reason I'm playing TBC classic is for a 69 twink. 60-69 should be a very busy bracket, including a bunch of lvl 60 twinks. This is my current theorycraft https://seventyupgrades.com/set/jZ4uqZi2oJRVohuvwLRkP9

It's not BIS but it's gear that I can realistically obtain. Probably the hardest thing will be getting +12 sp on rings. Have to farm durnhold trash at lvl 66 for honored with keepers of time (I'll have help).

edit; Nm I made a 69 spriest instead (in sig). And +12 sp on rings was easy. The quest chain to complete OHB and BM basically gives you honored.

I've been planning for this for a LONG time. I even have a multibox team set up so I can solo level 70 (nonheroic) dungeons. Doing resto druid, 2 BM hunters, mage (cause was my 60 booster and portals are cool) and Prot paladin. Everything is leveled so far except the paladin because I play Horde. Mage will swap out with the twink when I kill whatever boss I need. There is a lot of benefits to playing 69s. It will likely be active being just under 70 and we get to play EoTs. More talents, new abilities, interesting gear options.

Here's planned warlock build. https://seventyupgrades.com/set/iBxz6z1AqqXxDYSNTEvuAZ It's too bad the alchemy trinkets are nearly impossible to get. Maybe you can grind out the rep by doing magisters terrace a hundred times (you can get a summon there and enter as a 69 and die...) but that is ridiculously hard and I don't even know if it will work in the end. Perhaps a stam stick engi trinket is better overall than a ~40 spell power trinket. Getting honored for rings with KoT won't be that bad in comparison.

I lowkey wanted a 69 resto druid to play since it's strong and lifebloom is lvl 64 but I probably won't go through with it. Too annoying if your have crap dps on team and some of the gear options for BiS feel awkward. If anyone wants to make a 69 Spriest it pairs super good with warlock and the gear options are really good. I can help gear you! I'm on Benefiction Horde and part of a current vanilla 49 twink guild called <Forty Niners>. I'm not sure I'll be staying on Bene. It all depends how things go.

I'll kick your boomy butt. Naxx geared raiders can just level to 69 get enchanted and they will be just as good as outland geared 69 twinks. I'd be damn scared of someone with an Atiesh. We'll likely see some raiders decide to stay 69 instead of go 70. I'd like some of the naxx gear but my 5 man multibox can't take that on at 70 and I'm not a raider.

Ye IDK. I had no problem blowing up twinks from your guild on my 49 boomie (panzerkin) :p As for nax gear there's 2 problems. Firstly most full naxx geared players (who aren't going 70) will just stay lvl 60. It's a museum piece for them, a perfectly completed character. Leveling it to lvl 69 would be an abomination (in their minds). This is exactly what happened last time BC came out. Lots and lots of lvl 60 nax geared twinks playing in 60-69 bgs. They performed really well too.

The second problem is that crit, haste & hit become 'ratings' instead of %. And ratings scale depending on your level and the item's level. Meaning that +10 crit rating from a lvl 60 item benefits a lvl 69 character less than +10 crit rating from a lvl 69 item. But of course atiesh has some insane spell power.

If any naxx gear players do level to 69 permantly, that'll be impressive.

Ya I hear that. Same reason why I won't make a healer lol

I'm not convinced they are that dedicated to vanilla just because they are BiS but even if they are it has already been revealed that they can pay to play the character on TBC and play a copy on vanilla as well. So there is no need to choose.

+10 crit rating from a lvl 60 item benefits a lvl 69 character less than +10 crit rating from a lvl 69 item

10 crit rating should benefit a 69 the exact same whether it is from a level 60 item or a level 69 item. However as a level 69 character you get less crit % from that 10 rating than a level 60 would. I still say it's better to level a naxx geared character up and lower your crit % chance a bit; it will still be worth it to pick up the talents, spells, and certain outlands gear.

Hey deso you probably have more TBC knowledge than me. Do you know how difficult / realistic it is for a rogue to get both these daggers. https://seventyupgrades.com/set/rdCedXpwNFhEguWFpNYtE7

The first one 'Nexus-King Salhadaar' looks like you need someone with flying to active one of the pillars on the final boss?

The second seems like it might not be worth it. 'The Cipher of Damnation' looks like a 25 part quest chain starting from lvl 68. Will I even have enough experience to do 25 quests and does it require flying? Getting warlock summons would be painful.

Edit: It looks like you will not be able to get Twin-Bladed Ripper at all. Many wowhead comments confirmed that although it says 68 you need to be level 70 to do the quests. It may have been 68 early on but it was changed. I guess that is one less thing to worry about.

I did play back in TBC but I'm not that knowledgeable. I can glean as much as you can from old wowhead info. It does look like it's a 25 quest prereq. That is a lot but there are comments saying they were 68 when they finish so apparently it wasn't enough to level them to 69. I don't know if they require flying. I do know that Teron Gorefiend chain does to get to the floating island but that is unrelated. The other items you have competing at 68 are the other weapon, the chest and the shoulder. The shoulder seem kinda bad so you can probably use something else.

The chest piece is also not that great in my opinion. It rates the level 61 chest from Blood furnace higher and I wouldn't disagree. You can probably skip that quest chain too. How much help are you going to have with this 69 twink? At a minimum you'll need to recruit people to knock out the group quests.

If you focus on the weapons as your primary goal at 68 I think it's realistic to get both. You'd need to be careful using a twink like that. So many pieces missing stam, only 5330 hp. Good for soloing people 1v1 and pissing them off though.

So this thread has helped me a lot, thanks. The less mistakes I make on TBC launch the better (time saved). I just want to focus on one 69 and that's it for the whole expac (skipping 59 now too). I changed my mind, going a BM hunter. The gear is more certain (with lots of backups) and bestial wrath is just OP. https://seventyupgrades.com/set/aBRqX81185Fvo3hsux5XYD I'll also test a mostly lvl 60 gear setup for funsies https://seventyupgrades.com/set/3JyUKtNqUQLsuVZyXKfsLE

I'll have 3 x 70s helping me with a possible 4th. I just don't remember how difficult BC dungeons are. I'll make it happen somehow, it's my endgame after all lol.

The 69 hunter gear looks pretty good. I will say that you want to pick up some more hit rating. I think you want 5% as a hunter. I would ignore the recommended +12 damage scope and pick up the 30 hit rating scope from vanilla. That alone will add 2% hit. You can get the rest from using gems with +hit rating or find a piece of gear to substitute on it that has hit. There are a lot of hit gear options but many of the good ones are leather. Losing a little armor on one piece of gear doesn't matter. Or maybe a +hit ring/cloak

I wish it had a few more talent points to spend. Having aimed shot 50% healing debuff and 30% ranged crit bonus is really nice. Sadly hawkeye is in the survival tree now so you have to put 3 points there no matter what. I'd drop an entrapment point for aimed shot. There will be times you want it. BM hunters was one of the potential 69 options I considered. The beast within is a stupid strong pvp CD.

Back in original BC there was word of epic 70 gear (trinket I think) that a 19 got. It was a quest which originally had no start level requirement, something like that. Anyway trinkets might be a wildcard at 69.

Anyone planning to do a arms warrior 69 & mind sharing a BIS item list from seventyupgrades.com ?

Well perhaps not BiS but I can give you the 69 template that I made for warrior weeks ago. It requires no naxx gear and there shouldn't be anything too difficult to get. The end result looks very strong, with almost 1700 attack power and almost 28% crit unbuffed. Not to mention 9669 hitpoints. Which is a lot but I didn't intend for the digits to fit the 69 bracket so ironically. I prioritize stamina pieces over pure crit/strength since I feel that bulk is a significant stat for pvp and more so as a warrior. Although the 45 stamina engi trinket is not ideal.

It has 6.44% hit which is more than the 5% you need, but can help hit targets that have talent skills that give them additional avoidance. But mostly the template algorithm prioritizes hit over everything cause it's not factoring for pvp hit caps.

I will say that I'm probably valuing strength too highly. I think it's more important to push that 28% crit even higher.

How does a 69 match up to a 70 in wpvp?

I ended up with a 69 spriest and sometimes I queue AV for funsies (defending so no xp gain). Can kill lvl 70's just fine. In fact my 69 has better gear than many un-gemmed & un-enchanted 70s I see in AV lol.

I'm NA. I hold my own in games. It took me a few days to get my dungeon pieces, but it took much, much more time in set up because I made a team with 5 accounts to clear my own dungeons. I don't like needing outside assistance.

I feel like you might have taken too long :<. The queue times are getting longer and longer since blizzard got into legal troubles, FF14 poaching people and new world beta converting others (that's me). Also you missed same faction BGs which actually reduced queue times for everyone in the 69 bracket. Not sure if they are coming back or not.
