Top movies?

If nobody watched Pablo Escobar series, you have to. Such an interesting story that based on true life. Just suggesting series cuz l prefer them rather than movies and stuff

Series will always top movies, simply because you get way more story and immersion. A movie has to deliver flawlessly within 1.5-3 hours. The comparisons aren't entirely fair, because the premises aren't the same.

I think the opposite. I think sometimes series are drawn out with unnecessary moments and episodes just to reach 13 or so episodes per season.

I don’t think there always has to be a series to tell an engaging story. Taxi Driver, The Matrix (1st movie; others weren’t necessary) or No Country for Old Men, for examples.

That's just a matter of the product itself being poorly written. The exact same thing can happen to a movie, even if it's short. It's about how you capture the viewer.

Fact is, series just have more room to build a more enticing story, where you can really explore character and story development at a much more spread out and detailed pace. Good movies will try to deliver the same, but in a much shorter window. If you're trying to tell the same story, and the story allows for elaboration, the series will simply be able to cover much more ground.

The only way movies can ever achieve the same effect is if they make follow-up movies, continuing where the other left off, or maybe dive into a prologue to answer some left out questions etc.

If you are into watching both movies and series, it's so easy to see that good movies are difficult to deliver, whereas a good series tends to pop up a lot more frequently, and have you entertained for much longer.

No TV show should last longer than 6 seasons and no movie should be longer than 2 hours. No "cinematic universe" should span more than... lets say 6 movies.

If you cant tell a compelling/funny/entertaining visual story within those parameters, maybe write a book.

lotr would suffer if it was shortened down
