As the title says, what do you guys think?

Pro - I get to see the snazzy achievment one more time.
Cons - I have to get another account :p.

Thanks for any input friends! I've already selected and done some marginal testing for the next classes, I'm very excited!

I would say keep your current account. I only made a fresh account for the specific challenges I set for it. I still have an old account that hasn't seen activity since the end of WoD and had several 20s on it, but it didn't feel the same as my pure F2P account does.

If you want fresh EVERYTHING to see how far you can go without ever subbing, then yeah make a new account.

@Vyvenem Yup I think I'm going to stay on this one, although for funsies I might do a new f2p account (I have several lol) focused on Classic Runs or something. My new project after I'm done with this one will probably preclude that though. Thanks for the input my friend!

Yeah, I'd say keep the current account unless you really want to do everything without any help. Personally, I'd rather you spend that grind time getting classic dungeon master on more toons!

This is exactly what I’m looking to do shortly — I’m currently Veteran status on an unsubbed account that I’ve played on and off since The Burning Crusade, but it just feels “meh” to me and incomplete in every way... I want something totally fresh that I can push things to the limit with Achievement hunting, dungeons, PvP, professions, exploration... everything. Crazily, I think I want to start a brand new 100% F2P account.

A couple questions for you, Vyvenem:

- Does the Dungeonmaster Achievement track differently between completing dungeons solo vs. when you completed as a group? (Not doubting anyone’s authenticity, but how do you know someone solo’d all of an expansion’s dungeons vs. just completed them all with groups? Also, don’t you probably have to gear up to a point where you can solo dungeons by... running dungeons for better gear?)

- If you’re hunting for Achievements, are there any advantages to rolling on a certain population server or type (PvE vs. PvP)?

- I’m aware you’re a Night Elf Hunter and keep to pretty strict rules and one character... do you ever wish you’d have rolled a different class/race, i.e. Having Stealth/Prowl skill to bypass things, Diplomacy racial for rep grinds, etc.? I know I want to roll Alliance, but that’s about it so far, lol.

- Aside from the Darkmoon Cannon (+ glider maybe?) or whatever you use to get to areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach, are there any other must-have items?

I want to stick to a single character for once and work toward an ultimate goal; not bounce between a dozen with no real direction (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Allright, let's answer some questions!

The achievements are tracked the same whether or not you solo. For me personally, I cannot give you any proof that I actually soloed anything other than "dude, trust me." I considered streaming the dungeon runs and all my other F2P shenanigans, but I know there wouldn't have been even a fraction of interest in it and I'd be buried under the thousands of other streamers. Oh well. But seriously dude, trust me :)

I found many good gears while doing ALL THE QUESTS which allowed me to have enough gear to start soloing dungeons. This was after the nerfs, so it was all currently obtainable gear. That gear gave me enough power to solo Stockades first (this place is GREAT for gear testing and conveniently in Stormwind) followed by Slave Pens, Old Hillsbrad, and Underbog which all had the best chest, legs, belt, and shoulders for hunters. Mind you, this was before I had the Ghost Iron Dragonling, Alchemist's Flask, or ANY gem gear, and I didn't even know Drums of Fury existed until a week ago (whoops!)

If you’re hunting for Achievements, are there any advantages to rolling on a certain population server or type (PvE vs. PvP)?

I rolled a RP server (Moonguard) simply because I like watching RP, and Stormwind is FULL of it! I don't think it really matters what server you pick. Anything you need help with you can either try to rope a subbed player into helping you (by only using /say) or create another account (F2P or not) and try to help yourself complete it.

I rolled a Night Elf because I really like their character models/looks. I rolled a hunter because I looked at their skills and felt they had the most utility for doing... EVERYTHING! I don't think I could've done all I've done so far with any other class (I'd like to be proven wrong in this).

The beauty about not having stealth and not having rep grind boosts is that, well, you aren't subbed anyways. You have all the time in the world to die repeatedly and grind rep!

Aside from the Darkmoon Cannon (+ glider maybe?) or whatever you use to get to areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach, are there any other must-have items?

Darkmoon Cannon (+ glider ABSOLUTELY!)
Always have both! Nothing is really necessary other than that. Everything else is just for convenience and is mentioned in full in the pinned guides.

Hope these answers helped and/or made sense!

This is awesome, thank you! Part of me really wants to roll a Demon Hunter since they only became available for F2P since Shadowlands dropped, but the utility of Hunter seems almost too good to pass up. Plus, Chromie Time won’t be available, so if I want to run any dungeons beyond the few that are available to queue at 20, I’d have to travel to them and solo anyway, right?
I swear before I knew about Chromie Time (on my current unsubbed account), there were only like 2 dungeons available to queue in LFD.

You would have to travel to them, and there are only two dungeons for LFD in pure F2P (Freehold and Atal'Dazar).
