The worse spec in the bracket

Same. During Legion, if I couldn't kill a target within 2-3 Arcane Missiles, I would start to accumulate charges and go for Arcane Blast (the first two charges ideally being from Arcane Explosions for faster ramps).

A.Blast has the advantage to being more mana efficient, instant and non easily spotted.

Also, if you are using A.Blast with four charges you can always use that strong A.Barrage as an execute to secure kills.

Arcane missles go brrrrr
On a serious note I prefer blast over missiles in most situations with a few exceptions.

How hard are your pyroblasts hitting? mine dont impress me very much.
My mage isnt that fully optimized. Its only ilvl28 gear bought from supplier Xin and an ilvl30 Artifact. Pyroblast hits between 470s-680s. No sockets, gems or anything out of the ordinary.

it can often be a lot of fun just trying to make a "bad" spec as fucking annoying as possible.
Since derping out of actually trying to play competitively/raid endgame/etc, I've pretty much spent my WoW time doing this. Just playing things that entertain me for the shear sake of it, and trying to make it work. I mean, I spent the last few years just playing a prot warrior because of liking the aesthetic of it.

I've always found it incredibly dull to just have everyone playing the same cookie cutter metas, so the concept of things like "meme specs" and the like are just my cup of tea.

Also, if you invest all that time and effort into a spec/class, eventually it probably will be at least briefly FOTM or OP. And then you can have faceroll everyone and it's all worth it. Kind of.

I’m rolling a Demo Warlock strictly to try and mimic the old Mage POM Pyro spec where you could literally just global someone every 3 minutes... excerpt I think Demo can actually do it once every minute by popping all their cooldowns at the same time on an enemy.

Do it up! I always loved the 3 minuet mage. That, and the whole early WoTLK "Boom Anonymage" shit with arcane. Enormous burst can be a ton of fun to build around.

Also, is your name a Chex Quest reference, per chance?

My most geared toon is my assassination rogue. Finally was able to play her, my subscription ended not long ago.

...Assassination rogues are not very good, are they?

Negative about the name... Look up “Zorch” on Urban Dictionary and go to definition #2.

Don’t ask... fraternity inside joke.

Ass rogue is kinda ass at 20 atleast, ... no vanish, no evasion, no crippling poison, etc
They used to hit way harder in previous xpacs on opener or Ambush let's say, ...
Was Shadowstep, Ambush, Eviscerate, dead, or pretty close ... just made one as a ftp, won't be on it much I think outside of the challenge, Feral is decent, good utility, you have regrowth heal spam, bleed dots are weaker, but big Bites hurt, it's fun
my 20 Arms Warr is great, faceroll, with auto Execute procs, and MS hits pretty hard and victory rush gives a decent heal too

Defense! I love feral. Dual ele fangs and dot dot heal heal WAPAM! Or fc chase. Keep moonfire stacking cb. WAPAM! Heal down. High crit and the fact you are a healer (yes. Feral best use is in bg, moonfire cb max then heal. Cat and kill 1-2 shot from full energy). Toolkit is small, but when used right feral is top tier in bg. As hybrid. + mount speed cat is yummy.

I like assassination more then sub, outside of that initial shadowstrike I dont find them very strong. At least with sub and dispatch you can get additional ambushes outside of stealth. My rogue which is missing around 34-36 Ap from only having 1 agi gems instead of 2/2 gems or +3 gems can get 600-700 ambushes and 700+ envenoms.

This is what I always try to do, hence my prot pally, I want them to go from “ok” to the most annoying thing to run into in a bg, the *sigh* moment when you realize there’s a prot pally who is about to do 50k dmg and healing and be the biggest nuisance you can imagine

- Didn’t testing confirm + weapon damage is better for Feral, or are you just saying Elemental Force because of it proc’ing from Moonfire ticks?

- What is “cb”? Combo Points?

- So, if I’m reading correctly; Take Lunar Inspiration talent, then just derp around in Cat form spamming Moonfire, toss heals, and then try to one-shot using Ferocious Bite? If it’s top-tier, why have I never seen a single person doing this? Lol.

There are two philosophies for playing feral:

A.) Taking Lunar Inspiration and jumping around like an idiot casting MF to build combo points, then diving to get bleeds up on priority targets. Usually, this is a rot/spread dot/trying to pad the damage meters approach and your focus is getting dots on as many people as possible why staying at a safe range and not getting blown up.

B.) Taking Sabertooth and playing like (how I imagine) Feral was designed to be played, being very careful/thoughtful about when to engage, picking your targets wisely, and focusing on lining up big bites to finish off healers & clothies. Not so much about the dots and bleeds, much more about getting a root & big bite in at just the right moment, then disengaging before the other team catches on and annihilates you.

As to why it's rare to see Feral actually played (and played well): Because it's hard, both to gear up and to play. You're squishier than other melees, you're incredibly gear-dependent, and your niche is much more refined than "charge in and clap cheeks" or "crusader goes brrrrrrrrr". They have great utility, mobility and off-heals, though, and are especially good on flag BGs because they can quickly catch EFCs, drop a root, and one-hit with a lucky bite. Always love seeing a good Feral!

Good analysis — I probably know less about Feral than any other DPS class at this point (Save Enhance, maybe).

It’s just so fun to charge in and clap cheeks though!

Finally, the "ench" abbreviation all the baguettes are spamming finally makes sense.

Also just to clear that up... it's called enhancement...

Enhance was kinda alright in Legion when the templated stats were a thing. Like solid mid tier in WSG. Pretty good in arenas which is where they excelled the most. So enhance hasn't been "bad" always.

Bad would be something like Assa Rogue since templated stats came online, and even when they removed them again. Various prot specs has also been bad for a long time, although Guardian Druid was pretty sleeper in Legion. They actually did fairly well if played properly. Kinda like how Feral got figured out later into Legion as well.

As toolkit for 20 is small, lunar is not for maxing meters but rather getting that 1 shot crit in while supporting team
