If its too premature to discuss specs - can we discuss gem/stat priorities?

I feel butt naked without 3,000+ HP when speced as mistweaver (it just makes it so undergeared twinks and random slop cannot deal with you).

I've given up several gem slots for +speed (ideally I would have slotted gear with speed, but those are just double ultra uber rare)... also can't even imagine playing now with out at least +10% speed... it has gotten me out of countless situations and makes quite a bit of difference in small fights where maintaining range is crucial.

I feel like +main stat is far less important that people want to believe it is. Especially as long as i49 (even i34) weapons are in... they just overshadow main stat by a lot. If they go away +2+2 seems more important.

This is pretty accurate for just about any spec. Most classes have some form or fashion of significant burst, even if its in a small window. I can line up 3k dmg in a couple globals pretty easily and I dont even run Sudden Death on my warrior.

Obviously, as gear changes and people flex out gear and stats and get more comfortable with various burst windows and defensives and settle into the new bracket with the various BG objectives and such, the gearing meta will change. But for right now, 3k health in BGs seems like a really solid benchmark.

I'm loving seeing geared DH and Monk just taking no DMG from ppl in bgs - sounds like I'm joking .

Also seeing Ret delete ppl is funny as hell.

Really enjoying the bgs so far.

I see little plays and moves from loads of classes just wrecking ppl . Feels competitive all around . Maybe the hunter aimed shot nerf will make a difference also.

Its honestly just the i49 artifact weapons being overpowered and getting crits in conjunction to their high top end damage + mastery procs. I would easily say that i49s (melee or physical ranged) and Steady Talasite gems define the bracket now, outside of whatever skill level you want to bring into your own personal equation.

Arcane shot does almost double if you equip an i49 versus the second best ranged item.

As a mistweaver I honestly do not care about any melee/physical damage dps that does not have an i49 weapon. Even with a mastery proc the damage is pitiful (and, yes, that is an accurate mathematical assessment) versus Bis with Talasites if the opponent does not have an i49 relic. It's unfortunate, but just play around it if you don't have one. Obviously that is just from a 1v1 or light focus burst stand point (unfortunately these situations do come up quite a bit in any BG)

I'd like to see the relics and gems nerfed - think alot of ppl would. But games have been pretty good anyways so far....

I was not complaining, I'm just saying that i49 weapons are on par with dealing with Steady Talasites and vice versa... if either of those gets nerfed with out the other seeing the same percentage things will get goofy really fast, as DPS will be (far) less effective or everybody will have 1700 hp and get smoked by overpowered mastery/i49 combo crits.

lvl49 weapons are damm joke, should have removed long time ago...
i dont complaining but its a f**in huge advantage.
Personally i never went for i49 and hoa gear + talasite, those kill the challenge of the pvp in my view :)
Its really big feeling to kill way less hp ppl with lower dmg burst...
I always hated bgs when we won easily or allies made this against us. I will be the fan of huge battles with equal powers! Like the old av battles (real vanilla, not the new crap rush system "av"): "hold the front" + "push them forward" etc

MM
1 Versatility 2 Mastery 3 Haste 4 Critical Strike
How true is this for 20lvl?
What min/max values and their ratios are optimal?
mm hunters should go full mastery gems and enchants, but since lvl20s have no mastery gems, full agil gems, gear wise I completely ignore haste and crit, in the lvl20s bracket, I go for max socket gears instead of harmonious greens with sock, with a pair of crafted tsunami as fillers. This style of gearing is to 1-2 shot players in bg, aiming particularly at geared lvl20.

Hmm as a marksman hunter my preference is like this:
Mastery > Crit> I don't care about the rest
Ignore crit, go max mastery if you can, if you can't then mix with agil. With full mastery (and agil) mm hunters can reach ranges of 48-50 yards range + big increase in dmg. The range is only a bonus, the huge dmg you will do is the primary aim, my mm hunters are 99.99% top dmg in all bgs that I am in, regardless of brackets.

:D:D:D I am the completely opposite of you :D:D:D:D I am always going after the most geared players in a bg, the only bgs I joined are wsg, twin Peaks, temple of K, battle of G (queueing specific) currently i am enjoying the 10s and 20s brackets as 10s are easy to geared and as for the 20s I have some left over ex-lvl70s that have super gears and could get into bgs to go after lvl20 players.

my weapons are as good as ilvl49 .. i have a list of horde lvl20s who i encountered in bg having max stam/amr gems with their ilvl49 weapons .. all i encountered once and never seen them a second time, very strange, always on the lookout for them to appear in the same bg again .. its good that my dks (lvl 27-28) are grouped with the 20s, and thanks to Chops i've added 2 crusader to my weapons.

Mostly referring to just 20s and the weapons.

I'm not familiar with what you are doing etc. You just group with 20s then enter bgs? Why did you not wait till you were 29? I assume you have exp on and that toon will eventually "fail"?

I'm not sure if what I see in Character profile is accurate either, but i49 level 20 DK Blades of the Fallen Prince have almost double your top end damage at least from what I can see on those heroic swords = which equals the heavy crits (I could be wrong that is just what the profile shows me in numbers).

need lvl27 to use the gems, and lvl28 allows some gears that lvl27 cannot equip. With the total amount of strength, all other stats are irrelevant.. I have a number of these fDKs that are similarly geared, haven't decide what to do with them, but enjoying the 20s bg atm hunting specific enemy players

But again, you will eventually level out of the bracket I assume? Just not sure of the value of what you are doing overall other than just wanted to make a twink that was not level 20? It's been a while, I thought top end weapon damage was equal to the amount/severity of your critical hits, probably wrong on that? 10-11 weapon damage would = an average, but 1-20 would equal some real crappers but huge crits - given your strength was equal?

Will be a very very long time before all my dks finish the lvl20 bracket. Prob will freeze exp when I reached 99% of lvl29. I was planning to slowly quit the game before Oct patch.. But unexpectedly SL was actually a lot better than previous expac in twink gearing. In fact it is so easy to gear my hunters in 10s and 20s bracket that I don't even need to freeze my exp and let them lvl up. Hunter wise my gears are meant to 1-2 shot players in bg, regardless of what gears they are wearing.

Seems cool, but I'd have to see the damage in a BG it just does not look like its much better at all than somebody with an i49 weapon (as the are just mathematically better than raw stats even at +5 gems), and they are not 1-2 shotting people with 3k hp (unless they get a full mastery buff with a top end crit versus somebody with no versatility). But, do what you need to do and if they keep letting you party up, good luck to you.

I typically do 150k upwards dmg (scoreboard total dmg) in 20 bracket bg on these dks .. provided there are players to kill.. I don't party with other players.. have multiple accounts .. My hunters had done single crit aim shot of 2.6k.. unless the target is a pally not on cd.. most players would have died. If I encountered a stam/amr player, I will switch from my hunter to my dk in the following bgs hoping to catch that player.

I also....like to add... dots all....over the place....

Serious note I feel like arcane mages with ilvl 49 weapons and all int gems are probably the highest pure damage in a bg, almost wish my mage had the gf'd wep.

But, I mean a Ret with an I49 can break 3k easy on an Elkk crit. I'm just saying seems like you could have just made a real 20 twink and not some "leveling hybrid thing", but if you missed out on the i49s do what you have to do.

But, like I said seems like a cool idea and why not since the Gem gear is free/easy to get.

If you leave each BG before you win how long does it take you to level a 28 out of the bracket?

but then how would he be able to jump into conversations about level 20s, mention his 5 str/6 stm gems like they were his latest crossfit class and talk about raid gear that 20s cant get... all without mentioning (or burying) the fact that he plays on xp debuff exploiting toons, thereby confusing every new person in the thread who has to then be told that no, you cant get this stuff.

I guess because lvl20 can never achieve that kind of damage I am after. And I don't use elkk on my low lvl toons.. I am saving it for use in their late 30s as part of a macro. Prior to SL vets are harder to kill.. In SL, my hunters take them out with ease, and I need to lvl up in the 20 brackets ie. Lvl23 to be able to continue killing vets with such ease. Before SL after I hit 20, I would skip the entire 20 bracket to avoid vets.. Now I don't, being able to take out geared vets easily is a good feeling
