SL Guide and FAQs

Based on numbers or whatever other data... if things work out like we think, will DKs be able to really be useful, not like "oooooh i can death grip somebody and then be killed", but actually be able to deal enough damage to matter?

Just one of the only things I'm really looking forward to :p I just imagine the rest of the entire xpac is going to be hunters trolling with 1 button and holy priests running around in the background giggling with buck teeth and wal-eyes (the eyes that both go out and not in like cross eyes).
DK looks just ok. Unholy hits the hardest, maybe dw frost with double crusader will be worth it though. They have some helpful abilities like grip, mind blast, amz, but the damage is low overall.

Sorry, not on the PTR so not really sure what this means... in relation to how things are right now so I have a comparison ... DK damage will be low like say how ARMS is or how bad and unplayable ENHANCEMENT is (again in relation to how things are right now)

frost dk is your frontline of choice. super tanky, lots of rot with howling blast, best engage in the bracket, etc

think of a frost dk more like... a surv hunter currently.

All specs get the same toolkit, minus their spec main ability. Unholy Strike (I think it's called) hits for 100. I'm not very geared but comparing other similar geared classes it looks to be pretty bottom tier for damage. I think my hunter is getting like 600 aimed shots (just vet geared).

We're just answering different questions.

DK is good. It's "good-ness" is not really in relation to its dmg output, which is more rot based than burst.

Sounds iffy, but I see your point. Just 600 burst with shit gear versus what he will have full gemed/invasion seems like it will just overshadow any tankyness/rot.

Then also speaking of crusader... is it going to be as good as it is now to keep those numbers up and can you still weapon swap 2-3 sets?

So essentially a team support/supprt DPS class right?
Honestly sounds really fun for me, I wanted to play something supportive but on the other hand did not want to roll with Frost Mage being C tier currently.

Vet frost is pretty good support right now lol

But yea, it looks like DK is going to be frontline/support. Mine on the ptr is like super well geared, but its not bad and howling blast ticks for 120-150. Which is good, consistent rot dmg with death and decay. Grip is obviously useful and antimagic shield + death strike gives you some sustain.

But none of it really matters if hunters are able to stack mastery because you're never gonna catch a hunter with a 60 yard range, turtle, cheetah, disengage and arcane shots that hit for 800.

It seems to me if you have collected GF items or have rare items it might be worth sending them to a level 43 toon to make sure they retain some value in the next expansion as level 19 items. The same appears to be true of buying current level 43/44 world epics that have high ilevels.

Has anyone tried levelling a character with GF gear to 43/44 and then copying onto PTR to see how it effects the GF gear?

I would probably be playing a DK alongside my Pala if we can make it, most likely will remain Pala but some variety is nice.

Is Crussader making a difference at all really or is that with the buff up? And can up weapon swap still?

This is an example. Would be pretty OP at 19 twink bracket.
