EU+US Fishing gear for pure f2p

Well, imo it's the combo :

Bone Fishing Pole (+13)
Enchanted with Reinforced Fishing Line (+1)
While wearing Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat (+5)
After drinking a Captain Rumsey's Lager (+5)
Just after placing a Tawler Totem (+4)
And using the lure Aquadynamic Fish Attractor (+9) (you can also use Day-Old Darkmoon Doughnut (+10) but kinda requires DMF ...)

So completely alone, you can go to (+37) whenever you want to fish, and up to (+38) when it's DMF time.

But you want more than that, right?

You can go up to (+42/43) alone, but for a short period by applying on yourself a "Fragrant" Pheromone Fish (+5) fished in Draenor, but be quick to move to your spot, as the item last for 1 minute!

But, if you want the max of the max, then in addition to what's before you have be in the range of a Sharpened Tuskarr Spear (+5) placed by a high level.
You then get to a (+47/48) with an indirect help from a high level.

And the ultimate combo is: everything previously said + being under the effect "Hungry Tuskaar" from an Underbelly Elixir (+10) but the effect only works in New-Dalaran ...
So you can /flex with a really temporary (+58) fishing in New-Dalaran ... all that to fish coins? :D

And that ultimate /flex is reduced to (+53) if you want only to do it alone (so you don't have the Tuskarr Spear buff)


If i've done any miscalculation, tell me :D pretty late here and not at all time to add numbers :p
I might also have forgotten a buff, somewhere, so correct me or propose your own combo ;)

if you have old fishing you should also in theory be able to get https://www.wowhead.com/item=34836/spun-truesilver-fishing-line(?) for an extra +2 fishing as pure f2p you just need to get lucky with the bags that drop it

I've got https://www.wowhead.com/item=19971 on all of my fishing-poles... did that get GF'd at some point?

Makes sense. Rereading my initial post the line I linked wouldnt even be usable to f2ps if they had 300 fishing.

Looks like +1 fishing is the new bis enchant for pures.

Thanks; didn't know about the Trawler Totem. Getting to Highmountain, and surviving in a 98+ zone as an f2p could be interesting. Broken Isles doesn't seem to be a Blingtron 'party' destination.

And like the pure f2p, achievement and explorer tag... I might get there in a few years!
 
The problem with the Bone Fishing Pole is that it was changed to require Northrend Fishing (1), which is asinine design for something you can get from the Fishing Dailies, in SW/Org/IF/TB/UC/Darn. Likewise Boots of the Bay. If you don't have those GFd, you won't be able to equip either. Or if you have it equiped, you can't use it. My druid is wearing the boots, but they no longer work. If I unequip them (like on my rogue), you can't re-equip them. Neither has NR level fishing.

Bone fishing pole is still just fishing (1.) You're thinking of the jewelled rod.

Bone pole is still BiS for pures.

Ye, boots are unusable if you don't have NR fishing.

That's a bummer! Fished sodding everything in Northrend, then found this didn't activate the Jewelled Pole (so just sold them), but the bone poles have worked for my alts to date.
