EU+US Where do you spend your gold on f2p?

Just curious what y'all spend your 10g on in f2p. I can do like 2 quest or one dungeon and then there's 10g I've already bought the 12 slot Bags and extra bank space ( still grinding rep for 16 slot) . As of right now I can't think of anything else to buy. What do y'all spend it / dump it on?

Buying Walnut Stock from your local engineering supply vendor will allow you to stockpile some gold, which is useful when you go flying around expansion zones. Flight paths get pretty expensive out panda and draenor.

I started buying rune thread because it was easier for me to get a hold of. It stacks in 200s of 25g, and 8 of them make 1g.

Never heard of that, just something you can buy and then sell back for Same amount?

Yea man. Some people buy Walnut stock, some buy elemental flux, some buy rune thread. Ultimately it doesn't matter exactly what it is, it just let's you stockpile a little extra gold

Appreciate it chops, anything else I should be trying to buy besides the 16 slot bags I'm working towards? I don't think any vendors have much to offer for f2p stuff but I could be wrong?

If you're itching for something to buy and not sure what, go to wowhead and check out all the items that have a buy price of 125000 copper or below (12.5gold because -20% exalted faction discount = 10g).

If you're just looking to stock up on gold, I'd recommend Walnut Stock (but YMMV on convenience of vendors). It's the most expensive and therefore has the highest resell value. 1 full stack = 250g.

if you main a tanking spec on ftp/vet; your money will be so high, it'll vanish faster before you go to the repair shop.

also, the only useful items that are available to us would be bag storage, mounts, massive repair bills, and the occasional ice cream vendor at your local inn/shop.

Hookers and blow.

While doing my exploration achievements (Warlords and Legion with paladin, Legion with druid), the flights and repairs made sure to shrink my pockets. Nowadays, I only buy transmogs and a few other trifles. Darkmoon Faire is in fact where I do most of my shopping. I sometimes buy flights for the views, but otherwise i just ride me horse. I don't really feel the need to buy those Walnut Stocks, as the daily quest bot occasionally spawning in Stormwind gives you items worth a few dozen to a few hundred gold. it's pretty sad having so little gold available.

Same issue; once you've bought and learned mounts, got the bank slots and big bags, gold is pretty useless to f2p. Items mentioned are a useful sink for gold (I used to pile up walnut stock, and still do for all but one alt).

Now, as one alt got to Outland (Blingtron party teleport), I shuttle this one back and forth from Azeroth to Area 52 buying up fel iron bolts, casings, explosive, adamantine frames and to Stormspire for similar, plus major protection potions (all have limited availability, and I think most stack to 200). At worst you can vendor these back for 25% of what you paid, but if I eventually stop being f2p, each auctions for a few 10's of gold. Too low level to do anything much in Outland except explore (and die) and fish (and die).

I have to note that I now have the problem of several alts being 'full'; all slots contain items that will AH for 1000 g upwards, and having to selectively vendor these for a few measly silver. Can't even give gold or items away!

In case you've not found the trick, you can save trogging back and forth to a specialised vendor every few quests due to 10g limit: Sell back 4 walnut stock to an engineering vendor for 25% of its cost, and use the money to buy more walnut stock. Repeat up to 10 times, or as much as you feel comfortable (actually, you could sell back 8-9 pieces to increase the gearing). When you get money from quests, you can then buy back the walnut you sold from any vendor. BUT; do NOT logout; and be very careful selling ANYTHING whilst you walnut stock is on the buyback list - you risk bumping it off the list. I particularly use this during Darkmoon, as just having a bit of walnut to buy back saves you having to return to base and then back to the Island.

If anyone has a solution to (f2p) transferring an excess of gold or items, happy to hear it: I'd gladly hand over a few razormaw hatchlings, well-oiled cloaks, blues or other assorted 'valuables' for summons' to Quel' Danas/Deepholme!
