PTR Level 10s in Shadowlands

I'm actually really unsure of how much will change. If PTR has prepatch that means actual prepatch will be coming within 2 months more than likely. Even if they nerf the gems like crazy, even if they give a higher level requirement to socket gear (like they do with azerite pieces), even if they fix legion items giving 44ilvl, even if they nerf artifact weapons to not go higher than ilvl20 (considering you can get them to ilvl48 with relic slots), I still think we are going to be kinda busted.

I mean we still have engineering gear that beats out everything at our level, and the way they are scaling BoEs seems ludicrous. It's going to take a lot of work to fix all of that, so I can see a bunch of things just not changing whatsoever (remember we're on what, like 4 expacs now that crusader is still broken?). We'll either all be in ilvl29 boes or we'll be in socket gear with probably 2+ main stat gems (I can see them nerfing 5/5 to 1/1 and 3main stat to 2) or we'll be in the equivalent of level 110 dungeon blues with legion gear. I don't see blizzard putting in the effort to balance all of them.

Nerfing the gems to 1/1 or even 2/2 would be a HUGE improvement. Packing on sixteen 5/5 gems is whats doing most of the "breaking". That and Legion items are what really seem busted. The vendor gear from Shatt doesnt seem busted on its own. Its the gems themselves that are. Aside from the dagger that does better tooltip damage than my warriors 2 handers lol.

Legion on the whole is wacky as hell for us. But I dont see that being fixed unless its also weird at 50. Mostly ok with that though. The higher ilvl forces interesting choices like "do I want this high ilvl vendor weapon or do I want ele force?"

What's the ilvl cutoff on Ele force? I put them on some twisted sabers before moving them over to PTR so I have 2 ilvl29 swords with it on

The first warrior to find a level 10 scaled Crystal Singing Axe is going to destroy everyone lol.

Well, on a side note, Garrisons are a go! Going to see if I can get some of the buildings up and running. Missions also all systems go.
Lol, brought back so many memories....

It's probably too early to tell, but Hunters look pretty good right now. For healers, I'd say Disc is looking pretty decent, so if I'd have to guess the meta based on what we have, I'd prob say Hunters and Priests would be the meta

its like... in the 40s?

There some vendor swords you can buy but cant put ele force or crusader on. But they're ilvl 48 and do as much dmg as an artifact weapon with double crusader up lol.

I think all TBC epics get put at 27 regardless of ilvl or scaling. Like level 75 epics that dropped for level 80 characters are scaling to 27, same as level 70 epics. Happens with wrath epics as well and level 30. I feel bad for the 70s who spent a fuckload of gold for a level 70 signet of eddward the odd or tears of anguish and now they can't use them.

I could see Monk being good just because they have leg sweep. That's going to be real fun bombing a group of people stacked together with multiple monks and chain stunning them all.

Disc is pretty much dead, respec holy and you'll see how bad disc is in comparison. Holy probs best healer in bracket atm.

Disc COULD see use in 10v10s over holy bc of penance but let's be real those aren't happening any time soon.

They probably do, especially way more OP abilities, but at the same time xpoff bgs will probably remain dead unless f2p/vets are thrust into xpoff queues. Hell, 29s are going to have 59s, 60s, and 70s and I doubt they will have bg pops even with all that.

Ye. So an ilvl 27 axe then. They will ruin everyone.

We're not even through the first week, its fine.

Legion in general is just really broken, at least at low levels.
Like 2 weeks ago the heart of Azeroth was the same ilvl as normal castle Nathria loot, it’s already nerfed on ptr.

pretty sure that legion gear is just not implemented to be scaling under a certain ilvl yet. Similar to how those BFA lvl 20 items don’t go below i180 in retail.

The Argus trinket when upgraded, is higher level than normal nyalotha loot, goes all the way to 111ilvl, legion is definitely not finished. Remember we were all talking about how op lilvl 50 base artifacts were

if they don’t squish it, they would have to do something like make legion mobs 2-4x harder to kill than other xpak mobs. but if it’s accessible all at 10 that would be a really wierd thing to do

another thing to consider is my level 110 mythic warlock on live, is level 45 on ptr, and all items regardless of titanforges are set to ilvl 50

Blizzard will (hopefully) tune the base ability/spell values, not (so much) the gear. Base values tune much more easily than countless pieces of gear.

Edit: I'm also confused why some specs get mastery and others don't. For instance, BrM has mastery, but WW and MW get them at 29.

A good example of items left to fix. :) But to that point, I have to say I've never seen something reach the PTR in this state of disrepair. I mean, I get it that this is a bigger undertaking than any previous expansion, but whoa.
