I think I can test this with some 101 boes seeing that they’re 160 baseline Ilvl and can proc to like 216 I think on live. So I’ll see what they are on beta. I have a huge variety of like 3 bank tabs worth on a toon, I’ll test in a few hours.
when you are going in again .. can you try to see if an ilvl265 legendary crafted is ilvl50 too ?

Requires level 40, ilvl 125, but the thing that like creates a random legendary for the class says ilvl 56
ilvl56 is about correct .. Legion items are between ilvl 168-240 (old) and ilvl 50-54 (new in SL) so 265 is higher than 240 (54 in SL) .. so that extra 25 (265-240) is about 2 ilvl in SL, making it ilvl56

after examining your 2 items in BFA and in SL beta .. this is the conclusion: titanforged/warforged is NOT removed in SL, the ilvl does not indicate accurately the item as well .. the conversion from BFA to SL is non-linear and inconsistent among items .. so we cannot use any denominator for conversion .. the ilvl169 which became ilvl50, stamina converts 3.08 (from 37 to 12) and the ilvl194 which became ilvl50, the stamina converts at 3.88 (from 62 to 16), this means the higher ilvl you go, the more you will be losing in each stats, diminishing returns, which shouldnt happen in the stats itself, because this will amplify the diminishing returns in the overall % when you total each stat. there is already a diminishing return when you pile up a single stat, say for example haste, the more haste you have, each additional haste gain will get a lower additional % gain, now they put on the stats during ilvl squish, the overall stats is getting double squished.

the ilvl164 haste converts at 1.77 (85 to 48) but the ilvl194 haste converts at 2.44 (from 22 to 9) .. this means the ilvl194 loses about 38% conversion compared with the ilvl164 .. in terms of gold if you are buying from AH, the ilvl164 gives a better ROI

and from the ilvl194 item itself, the haste and crit conversion is also not consistent, while the haste converts at 2.44, the crit converts at 2.58.

the ilvl164 total secondary stat converts at 1.77 (85 to 48) while the ilvl194 total secondary stat (crit + haste) converts at 2.52 (53 to 21), losing 42% in conversion to the ilvl164.

but one thing is for sure .. the higher ilvl you have, it will gives you a higher stat compare with a lower ilvl .. as for the ilvl shown for each item in SL (with reference to the lvl101 boes) ignore them, look at the value of each stat instead.

if you are preparing to gear to play lvl40 (the current lvl100 and lvl101 in BFA) in SL, you can start buying epic 101 BOEs that is ilvl168 and higher (anything lower than ilvl168 will not give you ilvl50 in SL) .. there are many in AH, look for those with leech PLUS socket .. it would give you a pretty good overall stats, that is NOT significantly lower than another player with ilvl194 (which is still expensive on AH)

one thing worth further researching is, what are the values of gems in SL .. if the gems conversion is good, a ilvl164 with socket might even further close the gap with ilvl194.
