George Floyd Protest

Yeah, but being surrounded by people of another race doesn't scream racist. So why is the white guy accused of being racist just because the dude that got offed happened to be black?

I dont man, he and the asians may be united in their hatred of the blacks.

u must not live in the USA, this isn't the first time, this one just happened to be filmed, i know some NYPD guys, but lets say for the sake of argument ur right, it could be the guy doesn't hate black people and just was really pissed off that day, is it possible maybe? but with the history here, the cop needs to know how it will be perceived even if he was just mad and not racist, buy anyway that cop was a total nazi, his actions matter, his thoughts about what race he likes don't mean shit

Of course I don't live in the USA and that's why I'm not afraid to state that the race card is being pulled way too often without having an angry mob chasing me with pitchforks. The black guy got killed by an overzealous stubborn cop, plain and simple. The race part is just an excuse for yet another looting spree.

im all for goofing around and having some fun, but seriously did anyone actually watch the video?, a guy was just murdered in broad daylight while he and bystanders begged for his ability to breath, and three of the murderer's coworkers helped and watched and let it happen, Way Too Soon, and cruel at this point, and to see Head Admin's joining in this gives this website a bad look, i know plenty of members are brainwashed shitty trolls, and im for free speech and i wouldn't lock the thread, but just be better.

I suggest you to subscribe to PoliceActivity on Youtube, what happened to George Floyd is sadly normal when it comes to resisting arrest in the U.S. I believe it's related to the U.S. police training and education and has nothing to do with hatred against specific groups.

Not sure what your expectations are regarding the xpoff staff. They aren't blizzard employees or represent any company or anything like it. It's more of a World of Warcraft community forum. My expectations of the staff are similar to how a guild in WoW gets handled, I don't see them having obligations to act neutral on world news and things like that

But idk what your expectations of WoW players are in general? They seem somewhat high

What's your opinion of this George Floyd protester getting K.O'ed by a black cop?

he wasn't resisting he was handcuffed on his stomach getting suffocated for 8 minutes

understand that kkk dudes love being cops, they love the power, they are all over here hidden everywhere.
"Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses."

i dont expect anything i was merely making a suggestion for the future, trying to say don't be so quick to ban people for being retards and lock threads that are providing entertainment for no reason at all.

re-watch it and look if the cops are:

• struggling to get out the suspect from the car?

• struggling to put handcuffs on him?

• struggling to get him into the police vehicle?

To me he isn't complying and is what they call resisting arrest and it's american traditions to brutalize the suspect if they don't obey.

idk why but I thought you wanted to discuss things properly and here I'm getting reminded once again that I'm on a WoW forum. Hence the OP's post shouldn't be taken too serious

discuss things properly? i expressed my thoughts, and replied to some views i didn't agree with, i realize without actually living in the united states u cannot possibly understand the Klu Klux Klan and its influence on law and order and government, just cause hollywood makes it look like black and whites are all good now 2020 etc..... its just kept quiet now, as it use to be more in the open.

stay in ur euro bubble where everyone in your town looks exactly the same and when the one black guy moves in everyone loves him cause he is a novelty.

They say orange is new black. Not in my building. Kevin is the new black.

The Racial point is that he probably would’ve been peacefully arrested if he wasn’t black. Black people and other minorities and those with mental conditions have a much higher rate of death and brutality in police. This just happened to be a morbid incident That lasted a very long time (8 minutes 40 seconds of not giving the person aid or lessening force after threat neutralized) and on film and witnessed by multiple people. That is why this is a tipping point that started all of this. It’s missing all the heavily used excuses (in the moment, split second Decision, officer in danger) leaving a very clear picture of the wrong doing against your most hurt group from police, The unarmed black person. And it’s finally on film for the world to see.

now with all being said above: he didn’t get arrested for 4 days, taking worldwide solidarity from numerous people’s AND governments on the issue to get any change. The point is this is something that is normal. It’s normal for police to do that they want. The rules of engagement are never applied to armed law enforcement. The police officer position is protected more than any other in the country. peoples lives and freedom, with an unequal distinction towards that of minorities, are trampled on daily across our country. therefore these things are normal and will continue to happen, unless there is mass reform. Large scale reform will only be possible with a massive message pushed, and a different president in office with at minimum a neutral alignment in this debate unlike our current one.

the way you describe it you make it sound like you live in sounds to me like you're from georgia or alabama

new york is ran by the opposite of KKK

drive 50 miles north of the city and the rest of upstate NY and its pretty much northern georgia or alabama, the huge population of minorities in the city carry the vote, without the city the rest of the state is like the deep south, its like that in every state, major cities have the democratic vote.

yea, people dont really really understand that the rural north is every bit as fucked up and racist as the rural south.

Since you dont live in the US and very clearly arent a scholar of racism or US culture, let me try to explain this to you. Against my better judgement.

Racism isn't just a bunch of hooded assholes burning crosses in black peoples lawns. It's baked into Americas political, legal and social existence. Our constitution, for fucks sake, recognizes black people as only 3/5ths of a person. The vast, *vast* majority of our nations founders were slave holders. Racism is very much a part of America in more than just a "some racists live here" kind of way.

You gotta also get beyond "racism is one person explicitly hating another person for their skin color" and recognize that racism is better understood as a system set up to privilege one race over others by providing access to power for some, while using that power to deny advancement and privilege to others. Typically referred to as something like "institutionalized racism"

Racism in America looks like cities paving over black neighborhoods to build highways specifically designed to segregate cities (see I35 in Austin, TX or I630 in my city, Little Rock). It looks like redlining in home mortgage loans. It looks like electing the first black president and then him overseeing the greatest transfer of wealth *out* of poor black communities and into rich white hands since they burned Tulsa (feel free to google "tulsa race massacre").

There's a lot of glitter around more overt racial issues in America. The KKK, Neo Nazis, etc. But racism... the actual institutional racism that holds up the power structure that reinforces those assholes, its more subtle but no less deadly.

So when George Floyd was murdered, it was a product of that more subtle racism. Chauvin may or may not be overtly racist. I have no idea. But his training and the training of most cops is steeped in it, just like every aspect of American culture is.

Im running out of the desire to keep talking about it. But if you're curious, two very easy to understand books you could read on it are A Colony In A Nation by Chris Hayes (quite specific to this conversation) and We Were 8 Years In Power by Ta-Nehisi Coates (much more generalized examination of race/racism in america). I don't particularly agree with either of them 100% but theyre both pretty milquetoast, center of the road liberals so it's not like you'll have to wade through radical polemics.

Anyway, enjoy.

not really, some people can try to be funny and say what they want, and other people can say they ain't funny cause humor is subjective, and people have been free to express their thoughts, so far no one has been silenced, it will only be under attack when a thread is locked when everyone is goofing on buying gold or nutcases like jwl and light are banned, u want to talk about snowflakes look at the ones who banned them, was there humor not good enough? (it wasn't) but better not let them talk on here anymore.
Yeah, so if an ordinary member exercises their right of free speech, it's perfectly legal but once staff do the same its OMFQWTFBBQ-.
Yeah. Fucking hypocrite.

Also, NYC isn't a state, dumbass.

(Oh and, for the record: Neither were banned for making shitty ass jokes.)

Stop posting shit with no material experience. Join the movement, go to a protest. Otherwise your opinions will have no impact.

To be fair they actually fell under multiple strikes passed 3 and were reported many times. Both of them have been banned before for things that are far beyond our tos. We allow for free speech obviously but some things are just detrimental to the sites health and user base.
