So does ZG shoulder enchants work?

Kredjr

Legend
The 30ap, 18sp etc.

If they work: Can I still get them, or is it grandfathered?

I keep seeing the occasional twink with it in BG.

seems grandfathered. they made leg/head enchants useless, but for some reason they didn't do the same for the shoulder enchants.

Seems like they only cared about lvl 60s using it on the wrong classes, but they did add a level requirement for the leg/head, but not for shoulders.

TLDR - Yes they are grandfathered

There's ALREADY GF'd shit in CLASSIC? Man, wtf!

Do they work?
  • Yes

  • No
They removed the effect of the class enchants head/legs for characters not lvl 60, right?
They simply have to remove this too..?
As I see it my 19 rogue with all BiS fully enchanted (Fishing Hat & Boots, Shadowfang etc.) & 2 agm trinkets becomes somewhat obsolete since no matter what I do someone that matches me in gear but has this now unobtainable enchant will beat me.
I find the argument that a very very small amount of 19 characters got the enchant and that I will almost never bump into one to be absurd.
That's the whole point, that there are a few twinks running around out there with stats impossible for the rest of us to achieve.

It is unfortunate, but the situation will relativize once Naxxrams is online.

In your "equation" you totally ignore how well the players perform. 30 AP can't make up for being bad.

Also, they won't remove this, because as we all know Blizzard doesn't care about 19s!

I see your point. At 19 though we don't have many spells at all so there is not much skills to talk about. Also very unbalanced amongst the classes. I would actually say higher brackets is more skill-oriented in that sense and gear being very important at 19. Except for perhaps the clever jumping (not offensive) and all consumables/bombs etc. (not really hard just drink a potion/throw a bomb)

I never twinked in vanilla so I would appreciate your thoughts on naxx shoulder enchant? What can we expect? Simply buy enchanted white shoulders off of AH or enchanting them through 'will not be traded' box?
Or are those enchants also an exploit?

Yes, they put a lvl 60 requirement of the class enchants, but not the general shoulder enchants.

Sure, they are absolute BiS, but at the end 30 AP doesn't give that much of an impact. If you're alliance you can just try having a BoM buff by your teammate and see how much that effect you

I do believe 19s is more skill than gear. Not necessarily because of the complexity of skills (which is a joke in retail right now), but rather when it comes to positioning, not exposing back, using your resources thoughtful and having a sound strategy in combat. But this is only my opinion, it is true that an under-geared player will most likely lose to a full bis boi. Also, 30AP does make a difference you are right on that, 19s is all about getting an edge on others. Maybe I don't think it's that bad ZG enchants are GF'd because Naxx enchants will come eventually and I believe skill edge is more important than gear edge.

Naxx price estimation is a bit off-topic but I also only played since bc were I bought them for 2k back then. I think they were not obtainable anymore at that time? Might remember that wrong. https://classic19twinking.weebly.com/naxx-enchants.html I think this is a good estimation of how to get them in classic. I hope this helps you ;)

Naxx enchants were available all the way through TBC, i remember paying 2k for the sp ones. But they will be harder to obtain in classic. Get saving £££

How exactly are the +30 ap / +18 sp shoulder enchants grandfathered? Do they make boe shoulders soulbound? If they make boe shoulders soulbound, what about white / grey shoulders? If white / grey shoulders become soubound, what makes everyone think that nax chants won't do the same?

Zg makes the item soulbound, naxx can be put on any shoulders and freely traded (no lvl requirement).

did blizzard assign min level to head and leg librams?

the ZG shoulder enchants on white/gray shoulders never soulbound in van wow or BC, they were mailable, and pre BOA leveling sets for alts. later in BC some were made blues, and bound to the player when you logged in

That was a different exploit, using mailbox, the one used recently is the same one to get enchants on shoulder / legs on retail. It soulbinds the item for some reason, even whites.

No what he's talking about didn't require any exploit, you could literally enchant a white item without it soulbinding at all.

Unless i've misunderstood, is the ZG shoulder enchant still able to be applied or has it been fixed to now require level 60 to use?

the trade bug has been hotfixed. The enchant itself has not been changed at all. No level requirement, not disabled for low levels, not removed, nothing. It still works
