Warrior Role and Tips

Hi!

Just rolled my first 39 twink as a warrior and seeking advice from experienced folks. As a warrior what is my role in WSG and in team battles in general? I'm specced exactly to the BIS sticky DPS (gear and talents) for context. In WSG I find myself alternating between going after the EFC and supporting the FC. My main abilities are Charge/Intercept and Rend, Hamstring (if needed) and spamming Heroic Strike. Using overpower/execute on CD.

Anything I should focus on or learn to do better? I have quite a bit of experience in the 19 bracket as a rogue but totally in new territory as a 39 warrior. I appreciate any help and feedback - thanks!

Hmm where to start. Fear should be saved for flag returns/relays if possible. Also make sure Disarm is up, but try to use it when your target is incapacitated or stunned in some way to ensure it lands. Do not Charge and Intercept one after the other; if you space them out you have the option of maybe dropping combat and charging if they manage to get away from your Intercept. Remember you can rage out of fears and incapacitates. Sunder Armor is a really good ability and with a Crusader Pod it will get you a lot of procs, great for bringing down targets receiving heal support.

Use LoS to bait and Charge pesky players who are keeping you in combat. If you are getting swarmed by pets go around a corner and waste them, you should happily use pets as rage batteries.

Your roll as described sounds about right - WSG is very fluid for a Warrior. You may have to carry the flag while other times you're the point of the spear on offense. You should have extra gear to suit these different rolls. The main thing to avoid is going alone. Warriors out there fighting by themselves are very easy pickings for adds, trying to conquer objectives alone will probably involve more deaths and time than putting effort into rallying teammates to your cause. Breaking through defenses is your very best roll, as you can in a pinch get very deep into the back line past traps and other area denial.

Get use to using your shield as a default. Rogues will struggle if they manage to open on you and you'll be able to absorb more punishment from Hunters and the like. Swapping to your PoD when fully engaged ofc. You really have to leverage every advantage you can as a Warrior so you'll be relying on grenades to close gaps and interrupt off target heals all the time. Bring Anti-Venom to the fight along with big bandages and a few FAPs for ending games.

1. equip spider belt, swift boots/rocket boots, rocket helm and on-use trinkets whenever you're against a druid FC or if you're FCing yourself. Utility > stats when doing wsg objectives. for mid just use stat gear and battle chicken/mark of the chosen

2. depending on circumstances you should be spamming hamstring as default if you have PoD (i think?) when WW is on cd since the damage from PoD proc, crusader proc, overpower proc outweighs that of blowing rage on heroic strike. against high armor target you should spam sunder armor if hamstring is already applied (druid, warrs, palas)

3. pre-cast berserker rage if you're chasing someone and they're throwing a grenade at you if you know you won't need it for fear/rocket helm within 30 sec

4. use BERSERKER stance as your default stance. allows you to break all kinds of cc (sap, fear, rocket helm)

5. fear/tidal druid when he's out of form

6. generally save bloodrage for intercept

7. weapon chain > crusader even though i have crusader myself right now
