ATTN to 119's: Classic twinking - specifically 59 bracket

I know there is a section specific to Classic, but I'm posting these questions here because of the 119 Community visits here, and I feel that the 59 bracket mirrors a lot of what is available in Retail 119 in terms of availability, balance, and power.

Question 1: Are you planning on playing Classic, and if you are, are you planning on making a twink?
Question 2: As many of you know we have a pretty awesome 119 Community, would you guys be interested in joining me on the Alliance side in making a 59 twink guild?

If you answer YES, dude I'm super excited.

The big difference here is we'd have to make a guild, instead of a "community", and all join on one server to make the most of our efforts.

I am planning on making a 59 Rogue and I have some pretty lofty goals in mind, BUT, I think this will require a lot of coordination before hand, and team-work to obtain the potentially amazing gear available at level 59, that most people could only dream of having. I've already done most of the homework and tracked all the steps to get what I would consider a pretty good 59 twink. .... The other part ... which involves taking it to the next step is trying to make it a BIS twink (as close as you can), because some of the pieces in Classic, are hard to get even at level 60, but are juicy, so juicy.

I'm sure as more info comes out, hopefully they announce the server names before launch we can get a good idea on where to land. My plan and hopes are to dominate the bracket. To obtain gear otherwise thought ... not possible at level 59.

My goals for Classic are probably not like most other peoples. I don't plan to have best level 60 with Naxx gear, but I do plan to have an amazingly fun 59 twink that my level 60 will happily pass on gear, gold, supplies and materials to, and to other twinks.

If we do as a community decide on a server, lets make sure we get a bleeding howl 2.0, all twink brackets on one realm. Because some people might think about leveling their toon out of lower lvl brackets into a higher bracket (like 59) and we will all be on one place to scoop them up instead of them having to reroll.

Yup I read the whole thing. But don’t you think if more people would read it here, it may be because they aren’t interested in classic and those that are, would be in the classic sub forum? XD food for thought

Considering the first reply on the thread was someone offering a positive reaction, I'll say my target audience here will be able to get the intention.

Additionally, people know who I am in the 119 community. If I post this in the Classic section first, it will just be a mix of random people who don't know who or what we are about.

I'm thinking ahead here. If we get the traction once it launches, then this post will make more sense in the Classic section going forward because you need a "base". Players join other players who are established first.

I like this idea, maybe the whole XPoff community will have to make a decision on where we all want to go. Alliance and Horde. That would be interesting.

Lofty as in farming a felstriker? (Pretty sure it was originally called a deathstriker). That would be insane, you'd pretty much need 14 x lvl 60 friends to carry you and let you loot it. Ironfoe + HoJ would be a bit easier. Only need a 60 rogue + druid to farm or 1 x insanely geared combat rogue. Or just have someone craft a Persuader mace.

I feel like 59 twinking wouldn't get many pops because as soon as a leveler is eligible for AV they will spam it to exalted. And twinks can't do AV due to exp gains. Meaning there'd be precious few wsg + ab's going.

Additionally if 59 twinking was a thing, it'd be dominated by arcanite reapers. Seriously a warrior AR is going to destroy everything in that bracket.

That is certainly a lofty goal. I'm not "all-in" on that, trust me I would be, but the circumstance would have to be available for that, and I'm not about to take advantage of anyone's time. There are other options.

To me 59 is more than just instances, it's also world pvp. I don't think there will be any problem getting AB and WSG pops. I am aware AV gives XP. As far as other classes strengths and weaknesses, to each their own, I don't think it will stop someone from rolling a rogue or priest or druid or hunter, or whatever you want.
 
Personally probably better off just hitting lvl 60. They don't plan to release expansions do they?

I think the main goal is to provide the "vanilla" experience, so expansions will most likely take awhile to release if they even plan on it. I want to get some ranks :) I'll probably definitely make a 59 twink though if everyone is doing it lol.

A lot of good BOE gear is readily available at 59. It may not be your BIS but still very close, in some case BOE gear is BIS.

And a lot of PVP gear is near BIS or BIS (according to the numbers I've ran), one example is [if you aren't going for a set bonus in particular] the Highlander's Leather Boots are BIS for level 59 DPS leather wearers, and a pair of BOE boots Corehound Boots are right behind it in value.

Yes, there is a risk of XP gains. To me, that is part of the excitement, you have plan out your character, aim for reasonable goals and avoid some areas/mobs once you reach a certain point in XP. That's why I think there is so much flavor in Classic, it's the real distinction between twinks. Some twinks will have a piece of gear and you'll be like damn, how did he get that/those, you hardly get that in Retail.

As far as time goes, I agree, there is really only time for one.
 
I broke through the Classic 59 bracket a couple weeks ago and it has been fun. East Coast Alliance queues are during prime time hours pretty good less than 10 minutes. Off hours anywhere from 15 minutes to sometimes up to 1 hour. The win ratio for Alliance is actually insane, nearly 95% for WSG / AB.
 
I'm thinking of doing 49 classic and 59 BC but 59 classic requires a lot of collaboration. You'd need like a whole guild dedicated to supporting each other. I doubt many people will get BiS. A lot of 'close enough's. But yeah it sounds like a headache.
