Shadowlands Level Squish - skills gone

I've been looking at the new spell changes, and they are all based on classic. As blizz wants to make each level feel "good", they divided each spell in ranks 1, 2, 3

Besides the pandering to attract classic players that adding these legacy moves (eyes of the beast and stuff) and non rotational abilities (fire blast for frost mage), this also means that 110/111/119 twinks will lose several of their skills.

Some spells are marked as level 48, 54, etc. and judging by all the classes i've been seeing, it seems like it 's already updated for shadowlands. So between 50-60 (120-130) you will still be learning new spells or at the very least rank 3 spells (who restore functionality to skills that should have it baseline).

All in all what this means is the end of 110/111s having the whole skill book at their disposal, and they'll only have whatever blizzard deems adequate. I can't say i am very excited to see blizzard gimp twinks in this fashion again. Even staying at max level -1 will likely be annoying due to blizz putting an important spell unlocked at max level.

I'm kinda tired of seeing how much blizzard hates twinks (segregated queues), that now with this squish we are losing many of our skills, just because. I don't want to rejoin the endless gear grind, but it seems like blizzard is forcing people to just suck it up, play the endgame, or get lost. I'm done with the hammster wheel and regrinding the same thing every few years just to have my char play at a level that is fun (high secondary stats, like high haste).

Maybe MMOS just aren't for me anymore. Anyhow just letting you guys know that your twinks skills will be cut short based on blizzard's whims. So you may end up with key abilities removed for good and the gameplay being terrible because of it. Don't waste too much time on something that blizzard can simply take away from you.

Interesting. We could see dispell come back to resto shamans. Frost shock across the board.

Fulmination not at level 19, so likely not going to be playing Ele. Windfury for Enh though. Could be worth looking into Enh and Resto.

gotta remember man, if you're thinking your current 19, its level 10 (or even 9) and lower
will bg still be group as 10-19, 20-29, 30-39 etc at that time ?

Having grandfathered mastery gear from legion invasions helps
hopefully when we open the crates it will give pleasant pleassant surprises .. i have at least 3 bags or more on many of my toons each unopened ..

Its a possibility Ive considered, though I remain confident that access to BGs will open at 10
i look through some of the class/specs .. and i think you are right .. i believe too that bg will start at lvl10, most of the classes main offensive abilities become available at lvl10, aim shot, chaos bolt, arcane barrage etc unless blizz wants players to enter a bg without their main ability like what is happening now .. currently they are available at lvl12 if i am not wrong

Nobody knows, but I think thats a fair guess. There are a lot of things I think are possible.

option 1: pvp is 10-19, 20-29, etc like we've come to expect wow pvp to operate
option 2: pvp is 10-14, 15-19, etc owning to the vast power differences between levels. This would also see bracket populations more or less unchanged
option 3: pvp is fully scaled like the Korraks AV event and brackets are 10-50 or even 10-60
option 4: (and the one I think is most likely) pvp is 10-14, 15-19 etc for regular BGs and korraks style scaling for epic BGs.

option 3: pvp is fully scaled like the Korraks AV event and brackets are 10-50 or even 10-60

korraks is bad .. the lvl19 during that event is so significantly weaker than a highly geared lvl120, the scaling is unable to balance both extreme lvls

everyone but low level twinks loved it (and I certainly didnt mind it if I was on a healer) so I'd go ahead and get ready to see it as a normal pvp experience

Can't say I'm surprised - the moment I saw the class changes that were announced I could see the desire to make classes more like they used to be in vanilla/tbc/older expansions.

Well, you might lose some max spell ranks but you get a bunch of other spells back, so especially for hybrid classes it's probably a good tradeoff. We also have no idea how scaling will work, what will happen to the HoA and the azerite gear perk system, so I'm adopting a wait-and-see approach. If I can kill 130s with a 120/121 (or whatever the equivalent levels will be) with similar ease as I can now (120s with a 111), I'm happy. If not, and XP OFF bg brackets are dead and I don't enjoy playing max level - I'll find another game to play.
