Classic Pugs

Just curious to why most 19s of the active premading guilds don't pug anymore. When you isolate yourself to one server and then queue only "plebmades" you exclude a lot of new players into the bracket. I feel a lot of you gave up when battlegroups got implemented rather than trying to work around it. For those of you that were around for the ruin migration in wotlk the migration helped both pug and premade activity, but seems today so many 19s get salty so fast over losing a pug that they more or less "raid log" their 19s which is pointless. The bracket won't grow and will only continue to die.

Myself and others would love to see the activity that twinking had in vanilla/tbc/wotlk where there were hundreds of twinks if not thousands. But seems today people often develop "Bleeding Hollow Syndrome" and only want to queue plebmades for months on end into the same 30 people.

How about we do an actual migration and people actually pug?

Tbh I’ve seen both pugs and pugmades pretty evenly it’s just the luck of the draw - ppl always gonna q together and now that we don’t have 12 active games it’s just how it is now

I will be contributing tho and transferring my horde priest to east coast soon! Everyone on West Coast , East is where it’s at !

I mean it's even to an extent, some pugs are decent, but most of the "good guilds" NHF, CWS, etc they don't pug, they have a few players here and there that pug, but very few. Kevikev and Literalgodx from CWS queue pretty often but I almost never see anyone else in that guild log on unless a premade is happening, same with other guilds.
[doublepost=1585167947,1585167681][/doublepost]I just feel most of the active 19s left from BH, have the mentality that they'd rather queue with the same 40 people for 3-4 years straight than potentially have a bracket with hundreds of twinks and it's mostly because of their ego's when it comes down to it. I mean from their standpoint you can't brag about how many premade wins you have if the bracket is "too big"

I have 0 friends

Be patient. You have to understand that the battlegroup split fucked over a ton of players, and those groups are still in the process of getting their feet under them. Personally, I’ve been spending so much time (8-10 hours every day for the past ~2 weeks) rebuilding my own twinks, running guildies and players from other guilds, and farming gold/mats to fund twinks that I’ve barely had time to queue up because I’ve been constantly working on something else. We could have easily said fuck it, classic 19s are dead, but cws (and btne) decided to completely re-establish ourselves on the east coast and we’ve spent hundreds of dollars and a lot of time making it happen. I think that’s the complete opposite of “giving up”.

It's really too soon to tell what the new bg changes and the migration will do to the bracket as a whole, but pugging is how a bracket grows. It sparks interest in twinking as its really the only way this niche way of playing is advertised outside of word of mouth or googling twinks. y'all gonna choke the life out of this bracket if its just a bunch of OG's acting like they're medal of honor recipients.

It's hard to tell what you're referring to, which makes it hard to respond.. But I'll give it a shot.

While it's pretty obvious that a small subset of retail players gave up on classic 19s, that battlegroup split wasn't the main driver. You could see that happening over the past couple months, and frankly, it's not a big deal.

In regards to "plebmades"(clever stuff), I only see those happening on one server, so I'll assume that was directed towards us. Those are the the direct result of a lot of hard work, time, and energy. Havoc is still pugging nightly, on whatever faction needs help.

Like anatomyx said, btne and cws were looking for a place to go on the east coast, and instead of taking the easy and cheapest path forward(going to westfall where they had alts/mains) they chose to completely reroll/xfer to an almost dead server for the sake of balance and health of the bracket. I was one of the many that had to make a new twink over the past two weeks. The only difference now is that cws/btne players can get in on the semi-casual scrims we've been working towards. Everyone wins.

So coming from the guy who, in your own words, 'gave up' on the bracket after a premade loss, causing <Guild Punishment> to disband. I don't think any of us really want to hear it.

I'm confused by your last line, do you want a megaserver or do you want a healthy bracket? You can't have both.

justfine and i pug pretty consistently daily from NHF

Don’t think it’s even been two weeks yet since people started xferring, the bulk of which came from west coast servers so we wouldn’t even be part of the East coast server pug player base.

Since then it sure seems like people from Havoc are Qing a lot, and anyone from btne or cws would be completely new players so it’s only a positive for East coast 19s.

Just seems like your post is 2 months early. Everyone has made a bunch of new twinks and are all trying to farm rep and honor. I can’t really see how 19 activity could have negatively been affected these two weeks when all that has happened is a bunch of new 19s on East servers.

The number and quality of PUGs seems to be picking up the last week or two. Whether that's because of people transfering from west to east or because people are quarantined inside I'm not sure. It's good to see a lot of people regularly playing.

Even before the "battlegroup implementation" people only queued until they got honored for the gear and then stopped queueing for the most part. Regardless of whether or not pugs are super competitive, they're part of what grow the bracket. Like I said in my original post, the 19 community for the last like 2 expacs has been pretty small and it's because a lot of players only want to play with their friends or with "good players" and since in their eyes there's very few "good" players they disclude new players and just say dumb things like "this game is 15 years old you should know how to play by now" yet just because they've been playing since launch or tbc, doesn't mean everyone has. Pugs are what grow the community/bracket again when you have 40-50 people doing nothing but pugmades the bracket doesn't grow and over time people get tired and bored of the pugmades and then the bracket dies.

Pugs are an essential component of the 19 bracket that drive its awareness and growth.

Pugmades are crucial for their role in encouraging competition and improvement.

Both of these statements are true.

tbh i like duo queing
anytime we group with 4+ people it is extremely boring. especially with the types of games that are going on.
appreciate ppl wanting to guild flex tho
