PSA: Go update any "pre-BFA" Armory-links in your signatures/directories...

...seriously, I've examined dozens of links and most are outdated. It's the sort of issue that I'd assumed would have rapidly self-corrected over time, but even people I personally told last year still haven't fully-updated. :rolleyes:

Here are the common variants:

BFA-format (always works)
Worldofwarcraft.com/LANGUAGE-SUBREGION/character/REGION/REALM/CHARNAME

That's the current format. Notice the word "character" followed by the region (US, EU, Kr, Tw, Cn)... if a link doesn't show the region there, you should copy/paste a fresh URL from the Armory™.​

Legion-format (usually works)
Worldofwarcraft.com/LANGUAGE-SUBREGION/character/REALM/CHARNAME

The official "...but it works for me!" format. The Armory™ will make an effort to figure-out the correct page and redirect you, so it often works... but not always (particularly when visiting "foreign" regions). You should still copy/paste a fresh URL from the Armory™.​

OldAsFuck-format (never works)
REGION.Battle.net/wow/LANGUAGE/character/REALM/CHARNAME/simple
REGION.Battle.net/wow/LANGUAGE/character/REALM/CHARNAME/advanced

The "...that's just embarrassing." format. Search for your character on the Armory™ and copy/paste a fresh URL. If you're trying to update "foreign" characters in a directory, you might have better accuracy by manually "reformatting" the link yourself, before copying/pasting the resultant URL when you get to the (hopefully) correct page.​

If you happen to have an intimidatingly-huge directory to deal-with, feel free to post an assistance-request here... I'd be happy to help-out (and perhaps some others might also be willing to "split the work"). ;)

TL;DR - Just update your shit, folks. :p

As someone who probably looks at an unhealthy amount of armories every day, yes, outdated links are annoying as fuck.

I used to hate /simple now its the portuguese and the spanish and the french and the italians and the germans.

I trust that you're simply being facetious, but just-in-case...
  • It'd only take 5sec to delete your Signature and spare others from future annoyance.
  • It'd only take 25sec to simultaneously-update all of your links by doing some Find->Replace'ing to the underlying BBCode.
  • It'd only take 45sec to both update your links and arrange them into multiple "columns", so they'd all be visible in your truncated Signature.

As much as I'd like to commend your responsible behavior... it's kinda' tainted by the fact that it required four reminders to motivate you. ;)
