hi im youb and id like to do some theory crafting. i noticed all the races have their pros and cons for 39 lock pvp inside the gulch and AB. here's my 2c on the topic

gnome
wsg jump rating: 7/10
I'd usually place this as number 1. EA basically strengthens your lack of mobility, which is a warlock's biggest weakness. You can precast it when a druid is casting root for that instant break away, break a nova before shatter, use it with rocket boots to get away from a warrior or rogue. The uses are really endless and creative. Means you can use net a LOT more aggressively. Don't discount the fact that 2 in 3 horde rogues can use WOF. Having said this, net is far more useful versus rogue than fear. EM also helpful but not gamebreaking, gives slightly less pressure to tap.

wsg jump rating: 8/10
Largely underplayed horde class, and in hot competition with undead for best spot. hardiness tips the scales on almost every melee encounter, being able to slip away with a nade + COE after a cheap chot resist etc. Stuns give me more grief than any CC and melee obviously melts my squishy armour pool, which i consider to be a Warlock's second pvp weakness. command is almost useless as the dmg is already so low, but can be be useful if you're using an imp+glass build for killing a FC in a group fight.

human female
wsg jump rating: 9/10
Also very underated pvp racial. perception even on it's own is much higher stealth detection than private servers. It also stacks with catseye goggles and/or catseye elixer giving human the most stealth detection in the game. This means you'll almost never be opened on by a rogue in wsg and harder to get sap n capped in AB. You can also ween out all the lurkers in the WSG flag room before your druid or mage drops in their to pick. I rate this.

ud female
wsg jump raiting: 9/10
that drakedog feel bro. WOF is no joke, it's uses in pvp are similar to a pvp trinket, especially verse warriors and priests fear. I would argue though that it's less gamechanging than one might imagine, as DM and insignia almost do the same thing: it's pretty no brainer to prepare yourself with an insignia and/or felhunter at the start of each game if you can see multiple fear classes on the opposing faction. WOF doesn't really effect any of warlock's biggest pvp weaknesses being their squishiness to melee and lack of mobility. cannibalize is quite useful, a free 35% hp heal every 2m when BG's are strewn with dead bodies that you can use in combat with dots on you.

Fashionable I'd have to agree, with only a face a mother could love =P

Overall I still choose UD over Orc. Having the ability to tap and eat every 2 minutes is pretty important (not sitting down for that ambush crit), and if you are concerned about rogues stunning you there's a good chance you should have your felhunter out to see them coming, or succubus to seduce so you can walk off and fear. The other thing that wasn't mentioned about UD is the passive racial which gives +10 resistance to shadow, so the Spriest and warlock's dots may be resisted and do less damage. I also believe fear is a shadow spell, which gives extra chance to resist a fear also.

Hack the game and go Tauren.

you would know melee is warlocks biggest weakness at 39 if you've ever played this bracket :p. there is no paranoia at 39. you should never use succubus. 10 resist does next to nothing

You can do more jumps with a UD

And this is where I casually walk away so as not to be noticed. :(

I don't think a 25% RNG stun resist is better than a fear break/immune for 5 seconds on a 2min CD. The only stuns in classic are HoJ wich i constantly just dispell off myself anyways, rogue kidney/cheap shot with a few others. Half of the rogues just open with ambush and even if they don't im most likely stuck there taking pushback damage trying to fake cast a fear , while going horde in general has the advantage that rogues wont have wotf to use against you.

10 shadow resist makes a decent difference as well, as locks we have 6 from our Demon armor and 5 from our cloak enchant if you go with +5 to all Resistances. I sit at 21 shadow resistance before buffs wich can put me at 56. When phase 4 drops and Rune of perfection comes out 10 spell pen is going to make more of a difference for us undead because we already have +10 on the rest of you. you'll drop to 1 shadow resist buffed with demon armor while i'll still have 11. resistances are more powerful the more you stack. and trust i'm going to be rocking that rune while my other fun trinkets are on CD it'll serve as my placement trinket.

Gnome must be nice though, especially in ruin spec when you don't have CoE so your racial is your only life saver.
