US considering f2p pve/pvp

Asylum

for the Insane
hey, guys!

i'm not much for making a bunch of toons; have been stuck with my horde warlock since the day i was introduced to twinking. however, i also made an alliance shadow priest alt in legion.

i'm usually just sitting around in orgrimmar while i wait for bgs to pop. kind of want to get more active in pve, and it seems all the f2p players are having a blast doing it, especially in europe.

looking for some advice:
  1. looking at the f2p profession restrictions, two horde races stood out to me as the best choice:
    • goblin - ability to make healing potions with the +15 to alchemy racial
    • blood elf - ability to enchant claoks with +1 agi, and 2 handers with +2 vers with +10 to enchanting racial
  2. with the goblin rocket jump racial, the hunter seems like a good class choice for that race...
  3. trying to figure out what class would benefit the most from both +1 agi cloak enchant & +2 vers 2hander enchant, seems like brewmaster monks and survival hunters are the only candidates...
  4. can't remember off the top of my head, but what does the gnome engineering racial unlock with the +15 bonus?

p.s.: another thing i considered is making the f2p account linked with my main account, but that would sort of eliminate the benefit of making healing potions on the goblin, if i can use the heirloom necklace.

any and all throughts and suggestions are welcome.

Nothing from the profession increases is really noteworthy as far as I'm concerned. Goblin is a top tier horde pick, but for it's jump racial, not it's alchemy boost.

If you're looking to get into the PvE aspect of 20s just know that linking your toon to any sort of high level in any way at all devalues your achievements in the eyes of purists. If you're into the challenge of being pure then I recommend staying off of the same bnet.

noted, thanks for the heads up.

If you're looking to go long term, I'd recommend looking at a class that's "forever meta" like druids, pallies and shaman. They've always been viable in low level pvp and their low level kits have always been the most "complete".

I'd concern myself alot less with various racials.

Obviously it doesn't matter *that* much. Tenshin has like 9k achievement points and he's an undead warrior. So don't worry about it too hard. Play what you like.

And to second what ohti said, don't link your account. Separate bnet accounts make it that much cooler

Hunter because everyone plays hunter. Link your account, nobody has cared about linked accounts since early mists of pandaria.

Not really into pve until they add f2p mythic plus. In pvp your kind of stuck playing a hunter mage or druid for dps since those are the only f2p classes that can do enough damage to kill something. F2ps make awesome healers however.

PvE in between long bg queues is fun. Soloing a dungeon, challenging urself on some of the bosses. I prefer to be doing something rather than just waiting around for pops.
That glimmer of hope that an ilvl 28 blue will drop........
All good fun.
