EU+US Feral + Weapon Damage

Word on the street is that it offers no discernable benefit.

BG ring would be better even if the weapon damage ring worked though. It's hard to justify losing Stam/vers on a melee class just to get another point of weapon damage.

Yeah it's throwing too much useful stuff out the window. from a purely damage perspective though, is it better than a standard agi, crit/vers ring?

Problem is with scaling and shit like +1 stam or agi on wrists. The buff could be below 1 or purely broken. It also has no off stats but if you think its worth it, go for it.

Could even be something like venomstrike proc, where it's just a broken item that nobody but like 5 people on this forum would even think to check.

I mean, who wants an int ring with weapon damage but some weird niche twink build?

I think I tested this. The +1 damage from that ring doesn’t seem to provide any benefit or is just negated due to loss in primary/secondary stats.

I have both scaled and non scaled versions

I don't believe it can scale as it's crafted.

For whatever reason only the weapon enchant benefits, and as you already stated it mostly benefits agi druids.

So as a lot of you know, +weapon damage is one of the biggest stat boosts to a feral and guardian druids damage. It's actually really quite powerful on many melee classes.

Would this item be a great pickup for a feral druid? Would it outweigh the other options for the ring slots?

Unfortunately the ring is useless. Also the (+ weapon damage) enchant is the worst enchant to use on any other melee except for druid. Not even other hybrids like Ret or Enhance noticeably benefit from it.

It has something to do with how the weapon enchant is coded for feral. It cannot be adjusted for AP conversion either, as you will notice the spell power gained from it is not proportional to agilty/ap. We tried to reverse calculate the value using this method and it dose not work.

I brought this information to Fx (respected Xpoff theorycrafter) over a year ago trying to work out why I was getting these results and our best guessed conclusion is that the enchant for druid is added before the multiplication of the formula. This is only the case for enchants applied to the weapon itself.

For example;
Druid-
weapon DPS + enchant x attack power (+ misc. versa and what ever other wierd sums they put in)

All other melee-
weapon DPS x attack power (+ misc. versa and what ever other wierd sums they put in) + enchant

For the druid all other +weapon enchants or items like the ring mentioned act the same as it dose for other melee.

Obviously iam not great with math and this is not exact formula shown, but you get the idea.

In short the formula for ( +damage to WEAPON applied to weapon only) is broken for druid.

Thanks for the long answer. This seems to make sense, the fact it makes sense however, makes zero sense. Hope that makes sense?

Do sharpening/weight stones calculate the same way? If they do, maybe it's down to how the formula pulls information in. Prioritizing weapon damage straight from the weapon and anything else with weapon damage is added afterwards...?

Haha yes your comment actually makes perfect sense.

The stones are just additive, they are a ‘buff’ basically.

Edit: Just double checked and it actually adds about half the damage to abilities as the enchant dose, so it follows a similar formula but not the same.

Some numbers for those interested:
Feral
The enchant (+3) adds an additional 70 tooltip damage to my bite while the stone (+3) adds 32 TT damage.

Ret
The stone adds an additional 11 tooltip damage to Templar’s Verdict

Both similar damaging abilities.
