BIS gear/talents: 29 rogue

My twink is complete and now I have a choice between claw/vendetta. and a zealot/vendetta.
Crusader/15 agi for both combos? What do you think. I have +5 weap dmg on a poker already.

Stick with combat imo - I've tried all three specs and multiple hybrids on one of my oldest twinks (I have an old video of three different builds if you want reference footage). I would stick with +5 on your main hand dagger no matter what spec you're on. If you need more info on why let me know but the main two things are that you will have a terrible proc rate on instant attacks, and fewer of them, as well as the fact that +5 damage is a huge buff to a fast weapon somewhere around 30-35 AP worth of extra damage.

Ok, will do. Good tips thanks for that. Right now I am 16/4/0 but will look at going combat. That hit rating is key it seems.

16/4 is pretty bomb, it gets you huge crits when you get expose armor up but you're vulnerable to other rogues and warriors especially.

if you have that video too that would be sweet to checkout

Deeps PvP 2, part 2 (yeah, so old YouTube had 10 min limit)

O many try dude

Yeah the movie was all from BC. Sorry, seemed obvious. Thanks for checking it out! It was long ago and I can't say my play at the time was anything exceptional, but I tried to make it interesting. Mostly it just seems goofy now lol.

My third video was a bit more focused, it's all my 39 warrior, and I think it's better work, but still I wasn't exactly a master of the class...

I wasnt dumping your vids at all, just making sure I wasn't missing something. I love vids (but ilose interest quick).

I only watched the first arena where the combat rogue kept giving you his back instead of staying in front. Nothing wrong with you or your play in that, just reiterating how hard it actually is to reliably get behind someone competent.

I played daggers in BC too and it's a fun playstyle against lesser opponents. Gonna frustrate a lot of people trying.

edit- SOOO... not to detract from this thread, just looking for a few thoughts - 29 or 39 better for rogue? Opinions?

I know it's the 29 forums, but really not looking for a vast discussion, just maybe why 29 could be considered "better" from the discussion already in place here? Not ragging 29 either, I plan on having both - just deciding whether to skip right to 39 first or stop here and level past for the second... it's a dilemma lol. Don't think i'll finish a 39 by Tuesday. ;)

I think 39 rogue sits higher in the tier list than 29. With Hemo, Prep and Blind you can essentially play it like a 60. Combat is really the only build that makes alot of sense at 29, and it's respectable, so if you like that style maybe 29 would be your fav. Combat doesn't work in PvP anywhere else really, so it's like an oasis for that spec.

Yeah 29 plays like a 19 or a warrior, 39 plays like a 60 rogue. Both are tier 1, they just are played vastly different.

39 rogues have massive issues with hit though. They are really the only bracket a rogue struggles from a talent perspective (aka they cant get the 5% hit without huge trade-offs). Yes 0/3/27 or 2/3/25 seems standard but you'll miss saps, gouges, CS, KS enough to drive you bat shit insane.

18 points are pretty set in stone, and usually you just dump the last two into crit like this.

Some problems with Assassin tree are that Evis is crap at low levels and the poison talents you unlock are also pretty miserable. I actually burn points in Remorseless and SnD in that tree and it just doesn't come together right. Then you also need imp SS and Gouge so you have to sink points in combat anyways...
