Hey, Im just arguing with some EU WoW guys about leveling up from 1 to 120 in a few hours by using Party Sync. Is this an exploit/bug or its normal thing in 8.2.5?

Now you can create a new character with your Starter Edition and Party Sync with your Payed account and kill the worgs and spies all over again in Northshire and get a HUGE amount of XP! Just create a new level 1 - party sync - repeat. Ez EZ

They will 100% ban people for that and consider it exploiting.

To quote you on their forums:

Ok… They ban ppl just for using their game design? How the players are supposed to know the game is broken and you are not supposed to use these things? Thats ********!.

Yep. In WoTLK, you could solo parts of Naxx as a mage by using Spell Steal to steal the Bone Shield from the Death Knights. It would give you an enormous bubble shield that absorbed absurd amounts of damage. By having specced in Incanter's Absorbtion, you would gain spell power for points of aborbtion. It was considered an oversight, and caused them to heavily nerf Spell Steal, and they banned all people whom used the exploit for a temp amount of time, and removed all gold / items they farmed doing such.

Here's a video doing that during WoTLK to show what I'm talking about.

tl;dr Anything like that is considered "abuse of mechanics" and they'll ban you for it.

Why openly sharing it on the forums? Why doing it?
The only thing I see is that you attire the attention of people, and maybe even sanctions against the character you've boosted / your account.
It's not because it's possible to do it in game that it's legal ... Blibli is the one fixing the rules and changing them whenever they want. For sure leveling 1-120 in "few" hours is not something intended. Bannable? Maybe ...

You win nothing by having posted it on the forums except unwanted attention, and a potential fix ...

Maybe I won something ;] I reported it as bug and they wont ban me for this exploit. I`ll keep doing it till they fix it or tell us its a bug.

And why do you care? You are F2P. We are talking about 120 lvl things in here.

They want people to buy character boosts, most likely ban worthy

Why do I care? Maybe because, as most of the F2P players, I have also a subbed account asside.

Why won't they ban you? Because you report it? I don't think it can even work ...
You clearly consider it as an exploit but still you use it explicitely, knowing what it is. That's even more punishable than using that "without knowing" ...

Back in last April, with the xp potion exploit, don't even think that the guys who used the glitch and made videos on the subject escaped from the ban-wave, even if they were also "reporting" it.

I still don't understand why you made that post, because clearly you don't have anything to win. I don't think you even care about the other people that might have used that technique to level up, so why digging out that?

for some reason, i have a feeling this is not bannable .. it doesnt even sound like an offence .. its like saying normal lvl1 player lvling should walk/run and allow only the use of that bike mount, if they turn on another account and bring in a sanddrake to fly the lvl1 around its bannable .. increasing the speed of lvling (without hacks) how can that be an offence ? i get suspended for many many times over many many things in wow .. but this really doesnt sound like anything that could cause you a suspension, let alone a ban

You can only get the XP reward twice, so not sure how it came be used to get to 120 with just a small handful of quests.

I got banned from WoW forums for this kind of thread, but these guys are clueles bastards and they dont get a touch with the GMs. I bet this isnt an exploit. I`ll still keep doing it till the GM tell me its an exploit. I reported it as a bug but nobody respond to me and told me its illegal.

I need a 120 mage for portals.

Why should I care about some WoW-heads like you? (something like meth-heads). I`ll do you a favour if you get banned and leave this shit game for awhile.

I highly doubt that he did it that fast

this toon was leveled purely from party sync pvp excluding the first 20 levels of course. (he has a bg win rate average of 80%+)

Don't get me wrong, I think its fast as fuck, I've never had so much fun lvling

but a few hours to 120 is just wrong info.

if you're using quests it'd probably be even slower than bgs tbh.

His claim isn't that you can get to 120 "in a few hours" by doing anything during party-sync, but that you can do it by specifically repeating the Northshire starting quests...

...a claim that should be quite simple to "prove", but until someone does it's "just talk".

move this thread to the lounge?
He's already posted it on the Official WoW Forums, gotten the attention of Blizzard™, and received a one-week forum-ban for it... it's a little late to try and "put that genie back in the bottle". :p

Yeah, it's a bit of a moot point to bother moving this given all the above.

So, a little late but I wanted to try it out and I did and as always, it was either fixed or never broken to begin with.
To be fair, quests do give more exp (like 1.2 rate I would say) and they are more packed so leveling with sync is faster, but nowhere near “120 in a matter of hours” fast.
