How many of you will Boycott Blizz

i didn't know that coming out of the great depression it was also the responsibly of the USA to supply china with a military to defend itself

kept them weak? there a big country why couldn't they become strong on their own? why couldn't their own people invent and build planes and tanks and nuclear weapons? that's like blaming other weightlifters for being weak, when u yourself won't pick up a weight and workout.

yea it got steamrolling with clinton, but nixon paved the way, everything in the 80's was made in Taiwan

anyone that values human life and the families of those who died care

What the fuck? Not even gonna answer that first part its so luney.

They couldnt get strong because every major european power aswell as the United States and Japan didnt want them to be strong, they wanted them to be weak so they could be exploited.

They went to great lengths not just to beat China but to humiliate them, especially the british but also everyone else.

The 80s? You mean the decade when Nixon definetly wasnt the president?

Nah. Ye sure the families care, but basing your foreign policy on what grieving parents think isnt sound strategy.

I still lol @ some galaxy brains in the west who were thinking(and even praising it in globalism economy books, articles, etc) they could just outsource all their labor to china and the chinas would forever stay as low obedient quasi coolies producing infinite consumer products at low cost xd. And instead the west propped up china's economy. Talk about unforseen consequences

Ofc these guys are gonna turn nationalistic. Its the natural order of things in almost every corner of globe...as its been before and how it should be.

But as the world turns multipolar its gonna cause implications for western supremacy. Although i dont think it will happen soon cos most chinese are still quite poor but its rather like a few millions that are rich.

With that said
ive boycotted blizzard ever since 2015(maybe except a few tokens i guess...so tbh not even a full boycott cuz they still make $15 off some kid who buys the token but not a single penny of mine will go to them)

for my own personal reasons ofc
That's cool and all but more importantly I need you to explain this to me

USA was actually isolationist until 1939

didnt want them to be strong

so what? they didn't want them to be? they should of done what THEY wanted. germany didn't WANT the USA to be strong either.

The 80s? You mean the decade when Nixon definetly wasn't the president?

yea it took a little bit to build up the infrastructure, but nixon broke ground, anyway nixon or clinton doesn't matter and misses the whole point being USA companies build china's economy to where it is now.

but explain to me please why USA was suppose to be able to defend china from japan in the 1937? being that u say its a luney statement

one may keep using empty words to blame others, but those studied history and know about the truth will tell a different story.

Pre-communist China wasn't strong because of the civil war right after the collapse of the Qing dynasty and the sino-Japanese war.
Communist China wasn't strong because of the mismanagement of the communist party. Great Leap forward, TENS OF MILLIONS (YES) starved to death. Cultural Revolution, yet, another TENS OF MILLIONS death and the economy collapsed completely.

Communist China's textbook is full of misinformation and pure anti-west propaganda. If any of your knowledge about China is from information originated from China, forget about it completely and re-learn everything from scratch. China is notorious for tightly controlling the media from internet, newspapers, magazines to school textbooks.

Oh you sweet young child. No. The US was not isolationist until 1939. The US was isolationist between 1919 and 1940.

China was behind in technology and its not like europe was sharing theirs. Instead what they did was wreck the chinese economy. March their troops in to their most sacred palace and take a shit in the garden.
"germany didn't WANT the USA to be strong either." What? When? Context man, Wilhemine Germanys policy in China or the North Atlantic Submarine war? When and where? I cant do all the work for you.

They sure did do that.

I am not saying you were supposed to defend China in 1937. I am saying, dont expect a thank you for defending them in 1945 because they consider you part of the reason they had to be defended in the first place.

You may keep blaming others for your own problem. But those studied history and know about the truth will tell you a different story.

Educate yourself first before making nonsense comment that is probably originated from some communist China's textbook that is full of misinformation and pure anti-west propaganda.

The civil war? Jesus christ man. The civil war didnt matter technologywise it was poor people vs poor people. The civil war got off the ground more than a decade after the fall of the dynasty and the japanse invasion happend 100 years after the first opium war which is considered the start of "the century of humiliation".

China was a shithole long before the civil war.

Communist China wasnt strong is a weird way of putting it. Sure they were no match for say the US but compared to were they were a hundred years earlier they were on top of the world.

The Great Leap forward wasnt a failure as such. It was simply readjusting the economy at an enormous scale trying to copy what the Sovietunion had done. (And the soviet reshuffle also caused a starvation period, the common name for it is Holodomor). And this meant going from a farming country to a steel producer in just a few years. It caused a massive upswing in the chinese economy, they could build a military that was able to hold back the US in Korea.

Yes the great leap forward probably killed 40 million people maybe more. But they didnt care. They werent gonna be kicked around anymore. They had spent 100 years getting bullied. No matter the cost they were gonna be a big shot.

Educate yourself first before making nonsense comment that is probably originated from some liberal american textbook that is full of misinformation and pure pro-western propaganda.

8. Since Europe takes their marching orders from the US, when Britain signed away Hong Kong in the 90's after about 150 years, and Portugal Macao 2 years later after about 450 years of Portugese rule. They were doing this under the assumption that China would be getting rich and become democratic.

To be clear, Britain had a 99-year lease, signed in 1898, which expired in 1997. That's why they "signed away" the territory. They had to.
Also, Portugal shed all its colonial projects around the world. After they had suffered under the right-wing dictator Salazar for forty years, the country was both broke and broken. They couldn't maintain their colonies, and they are still recovering from that period.

All you 'fascism is the natural order of things' pricks make me puke.

Britain could have done alot of things, they didn't. Maybe they were ashamed of how they got HK. The unequal treaties and such. But there is no world police. No country ever has to do anything they dont want to do.

Portugal just joined Britain in the handing off, doing it about 2 years later. When Portugal handed over Macao, Salazar had been dead for 29 years.

Dont hate the player, hate the game.

China was behind in technology
nobody's fault but their own

beginning of WW2 when they convinced Japan to attack pearl harbor

maybe consider its there own fault for not being strong and stop blaming the rest of the world

Oh you sweet young child

People who love to hate on the USA "which they are free to do so" are also the first people to immigrant here illegally, save up for vacation plans to visit, and generally use Hollywood / celebrities as their staple of entertainment. Technology and innovation are also a world leader here with companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Orcale, IBM, Amazon, ect.....

Rest of the world are dick riders. Trump 2020 get fucked.

Well they were the first with a lot of technology then they fell behind for a number of reasons.

Germany did not want Japan to attack Pearl Harbor lol. They wanted them to help in Russia. Instead they signed a NAP with the Soviets so Stalin could pull his Siberian troops (who were really used to the winter) to Moscow and kick some nazi butt.

I mean it didnt help.

Oh, well that makes me a little bit sad but ye, the US was not isolationist in the 1800s and early 1900s. Japan was isolationist and the US went to them and said either youre trading with us or were coming in. The US was the opposite of isolationist.

The US called it Manifest Destiny and its were Hitler drew his inspiration from for his Lebensraum idea.

...."the century of humiliation".

China was a shithole long before the civil war.
"the century of humiliation" is a communist nationalistic propaganda trying to gain domestic support through self-victimization. Since during the empire building era a few centuries ago, everyone is conquering everyone. If you really care about humiliation, consider using the same "the century of humiliation" to the natives in Xinjiang and Tibet. They are the ones who can truly blame the Chinese people. The native people there were invaded, defeated, massacred, having their home taken away by the Chinese people during the Qing dynasty. Didn't you know that? Seems like you really need to re-learn some history deliberately erased/distorted by the PRC government.

China was a shithole because of the corrupted imperial court of the Qing dynasty. Stop blaming others. And btw, the term "China" didn't even exist by that time. The country was called Qing Empire - not China.
It caused a massive upswing in the chinese economy, they could build a military that was able to hold back the US in Korea.

tens of millions of people starved to death is called an "upswing in the economy"?? Complete nonsense. And the Chinese military during the Korean War was based on the aids provided by the Soviet Union - not the failed Great Leap Forward. PRC was only sending a massive army of foot soldiers equipped with Soviet made weapons.
