Holy Paladin Critique / Discussion

Hi Guys,

So I am creating a 19 holy paladin at the moment. Gathering the BoEs and Working through the professions etc.

I am aiming for this come Phase 4 when fishing is live: https://classic.wowhead.com/gear-pl...KGbFh9wNQCwt1DE_PDUmwDkpQj0_MNNKQBcpc_JEY704x

I keep flip flopping on the Leg/Head enchants and the weapon enchant! I think though that what I have there is about as good as it's going to get maintaining a respectable amount of HP.

I would love to hear people's thoughts.

Thanks!

Any idea as to why it says AGM requires level 60?

I think the set looks great, however I am a bit unsure as to whether or not shadowfang would be BIS

I know people rocked the 2/2 axe's and spirit axe as @kam Said, Shadowfang with 22 int/30sp/20 spirit if you can get 3 would be ideal unless you are literally just going to spamheal and nothing else.

Cheers guys.

So I assume I should go spell power for bigger hits with my seal/judge of righteousness AND it also counts towards healing? I did want to predominantly heal but I understand there is no point in not being able to do a bit of damage on the side.

I have reworked it a bit, though I am scared of only having 1200 mana, that feels low when a rank 3 holy light is 110 mana but you guys know whats up on here. Just swapped spellpower onto my weapon and +100hp to head, maybe I should go for +150 mana on the legs? I will have chassis of westfall as an offpiece so I can put HP on them I guess for a FC set.

Do you guys like the spec on him?

U Need to Think of weps different then 1 with 1 enchant. Key to high lvl play is to have maybe 3-weps/Shields that u rotate. For exemple if u are low and can juke/los swap to spirit wep and Shield. Another exempel if u face Rogue u can swap to SF with Lifetealing or spellpower then shield with shieldspike.
My base was Eagle axe with 22 int swapping to sf with sp and then spirit axe with spirit enchant. Spirit is very underestimated and imo Will seperate Good and average played. If u learn to manage it then u Will keep on healing when person with equal gear Will oom

You can mix and match certain enchants and pieces to fit your play style tbf, i'd stick with shadowfang always though, you could swap pieces out for higher armour more intellect just find a set that you like that you feel comfortable playing,

I would personally get 3/3eagle bracers with healing or stamina until fishings released and get 100hp on legs/goggles.

I would even test out mail sets for the armour to as thats what i used to use but that was in tbc, theres lots you can modify on a paladin have fun with brimful bags

Is shield spike available in vanilla?

Yes, for example thorium shieldspike. 20-30dmg Each block

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. The spell power weapon enchant wasn't something I had previously considered.

I do have some extra bits in my bank:

Shield of Blocking +1% Block and 4Str (plan to shield spike it)
Mace of healing +7 healing (for int enchant)
Forester axe of eagle (I can put the spirit on this one)

I will of course get the arctic buckler from the quest and keep it, I know it has really high armour for mitigation but I like the mana on the forest buckler.

I will also be sure to collect all the mail Eagle and Healing gear while the going is good on the AH so I have bits to swap in and out. I think I will go for eagle bracers instead of healing ones.

Thanks again guys

I tried doing holy on Northdale, your heals are going to be very weak (with full +healing gear and chants, I was only healing for 245 -265 procs). Instead, I switched to more of a support role, with 55+ healing on shadowfang and healing on gloves only. Everything else was stamina, and spellpower is a waste, the only real damage you're going to deal is with the Shadowfang.
[doublepost=1572801267,1572800929][/doublepost]I ended up FCing much more than I thought I would be, I would recommend getting a mele dps set and a support/fc set. That's probably the best way for a 19 pally, for the most utility.

Hi,

Yea I plan to play him as a hybrid / support character. Not expecting to pack the same healing a priest does obviously but paladins have other benefits that they bring. I know my heals will be in the high 200s and I am ok with that, they only cost 110 mana so I can heal for longer than a priest or druid can and I have blessing etc to help my team out, and one of the only true stuns in the bracket.

My paladin currently looks like this https://classic.wowhead.com/gear-pl...CSSZTB-_KGbFOLQNQCwt1DASEjxoLTi6QBcpY3ZEyxU4x + 2 x +100 HP Librams but wowhead thingy doesn't like them.

I will stick a +24 healing on him when P3 hits.

The spellpower increases my judgement and seal by quiet a bit so I should be able to put out some damage, heal and support. Not going to top any meters but should be able to turn the tables in some team fights. (I hope LOL)

Thank for the reply though I appreciate the feeback.

Consider down ranking your heals, you may be able work with a smaller mana pool than you think. SP coefficient may not change, meaning more healing for less mana if you stack +healing. I would agree with those suggesting multiple sets specially since healer and tank require completely different gear.
