I have never seen this before. I don't even know if it is viable, but i thought i would share. Also it appears this guy has a helm that is better than the lucky fishing hat that can be farmed before a particular patch hits....

I think a lot of this stuff is not the same on actual Classic. Wowhead's Classic department has fixed up a lot of stuff since Beta.

Gotcha, haven't done much research but it was quite interesting...seems like a lot of theory crafting went on here, never seen anything like it

LOL. Good old Hakkari Shroud. I thought it never went live on retail, only seen this on private servers.

Those items are actually live on retail (atleast it was pre cata after the revamp of SK). You could drop it from a quest chain on retail. However private server databases have added it to lootboxes & to some mobs all around Azeroth which were abused by twinks on p.server.

Also the spell power coëfficient were calculated wrong on a lot of p.servers and had effects on every spells that made things to be slightly overpowered (sometimes really overpowered) through all the p.servers scenes. No idea how far the fixes has been for spell power coëfficient calculation through vanilla cores but yeah numbers might be way different on Classic than you used to have/see than on p.servers

Here are some examples of some abuses you could see through the private server scene

warrior spamming thunderclap because it could hit for 300+ (so if people were stacked could do a lot of damage to everyone)

mage doing 100+ damage on every spells. If you check mages from retail through wotlk they actually did 100 damage less on every bolts which is very game changing

So yeah those are things that shows that not a single p.server would make you experience the real twink experience from what you've experienced on Retail.

Even right now, although some of the videos I've linked are fixed, there are still a lot of bugs with the spell power calculation, where people have things scaled wrong

see you all on classic where things will be different from you all p.servers theorycraft

Isn't the whole point of twinking to push the limits of what can and can't be done at any given pre-max level? Rather than accuse people of abusing the game, wouldn't it make more sense to just acknowledge private server twinks found new BiS items and sets using the database they were given?

Quoted For Truth.

thank god that hakkari shroud thing won't be obtainable in classic

looks absolutely retarded. Even if it was available I would still use goggles or fishing hat for the aesthetics

Some twinks have been abusing things that were overpowered and known as bug on retail and got insulted or got a bad reputation from the community itself. Like the mining skills lvl 450, enchants heirlooms on shoulders, things that did scale wrong on items on BFA etc etc.

Now like I said, p.server are servers that were recreated by "volunteers" to bring back an expansion we all did like to play on. Private servers are not even close to be close to blizzlike. Like a lot of "abusers" of spell powers were playing them only because they could smash better than they'd as "Normal twinks". When Molten - WoW (in 2015) fixed their spell power the population decreased from 80% that it almost did kill the 19 bracket. From having 2-3 bgs simultaneous we only had a few a day. Because just people could only abuse of that and that's not "acknowledge" or "push the expansion to it's limite" because it was obviously a bug & whatsoever since the server itself strife to be as much as how it was back. People are just retarded on private servers and only want to be better by abusing rather than trying to be good in a class we all enjoyed to play and didn't complain about on previous expansions.

Now from a database point of view, those things should've been reported by the community with proof like I did on Molten-WoW warmane where it has been fixed (or atleast confirmed as bug) and where everyone using those items could get ban. But yeah if the community itself doesn't care about fixing it well it shows how dumb the "vanilla" twink community have been the past few years

Like the mining skills lvl 450
Having max level gathering professions in Wrath was not a bug. You just needed people's mains to assist you while leveling them. Believe me, my whole guild had them. Having 225 mining, which gave you like 500 more hp than what was intended was a bug. When Blizz grandfathered 450 prof's for twinks that had them, that still wasn't a bug. It was just grandfathered 450 prof's. I realize the twinks who had enjoyed their basically free 750hp from the 225 mining bug for the last 6 months or so were a little butthurt when they lost it, while the people who put the work in for real BiS had grandfathered goodies. That's life.

And I'm still trying wrap my head around why you are insisting it was some sort of heresy for private server twinks to seek out whatever BiS gear they could find. Twinking is a concept, it's not some unique thing to WoW. I think that's where you are getting confused. People used to "twink" their alts in Everquest, long before WoW. It just meant getting the best gear available for your alts, that would otherwise be unobtainable to them. So in my opinion, private server twinks were just doing what twinks do best; gearing up their twinks.

It was to an extend, you could have it until the patch 3.1, it then was changed. After that patch I still somehow have in mind that it still triggered the ranks, but this could be the fact I played too much p.server with exact the same bug.

For the second part, well, like I've write earlier; private servers have been made to recreate our experience from previous expansion. Abusing of bugs isn't what (from my point of view of course) I want to experience. And that's pretty 99% of everyone visions that goes back to private servers. Otherwise Hakkari would've been added to all instant 19s servers (such as hamcakeland, V-Quality, Cyclone, ...) however they weren't because they kept twink close to blizzlike (which target a lower group of people) but sadly on larger servers it's difficult to fix everything. But that again it was the community that had to report it and ask for fix.

If you want to play "twink" and do things that aren't close to what retail offered, I'd suggest you to go on custom servers I can get you in contact with some so you can do "xoxohehetwinknotblizzlike:))))))))))))))))))))))"

edit after some research, 450 was a bug for a while

What in the... Let me clarify, I am not a private server player. My twinking experience has only ever been exclusively on official Blizzard servers. YOU are the private server player, lmao. And that's totally fine, I have a lot of respect for the pserver community forcing Blizzard's hand to make Classic, but once again - having something grandfathered does not make it a bug.

Alright, this discussion is going too far because it seems you are very dumb. This is also a thread about a bug that does happen on a private server (i.e. the spell power rogues) where I also states that there are big difference between a private server & Vanilla from 2006 (And I showed proof). You came here talking about that's the point of a twink, to abuse of things. But I don't agree since private server are supposed to be replication of how the game was. So abusing of "things" on "bugfest servers" and aren't "funny" for a lot of players that have started on retail.

To talk about "GF'd" u think a bug that lasted for 3 months is a GF'd thing? I've myself GF'd items on my retail toon and I'm still able to wear them, what about your 450 GF'D profession that lasted 3 months? Not possible and fixed by blizzard so considered as a "bug". If a bug would've been "blizzlike" I'd not have been complaining about and some examples are "Fish Feast" which was "broken" and fixed by blizzard during Cataclysme, however can't be called a bug in WoTLK (and if they do Classic WoTLK Fish Feast won't be a bug, however the 450+ was a bug for 3 months and won't be possible on a possible Classic WoTLK). I'm also talking about every states of each expansion (in their final states; 1.12.2, 2.4.3, 3.3.5a, ...) since it's how blizzard would've have want it since day 1 of expansion (with fixes & such). And it's how they'll release every expansion if they do it. In their final stages with no "in between bugs" that were "GF'd" for a days

The irony in you calling anyone dumb is juicy.

Continue.

That may be the whole point of twinking _for you_. When twinking first became a part of WoW PvP culture, there absolutely was a sizable number of twinks that did so specifically because all we cared about was the PvP aspect of the game, and had zero interest in the constant gear grind of endgame. There were of course bads who got off on 1 shotting pugs geared in whites and greens. At the same time, there were an equal number, if not greater number, of twinks who twinked specifically for the opportunity to go against other equally geared characters.
