To whoever runs this website now.

Creator of Twinkinfo
Even though I have been a web dev since 1997, I am not very up to speed on IP laws. I had lawyers fix issues where I had companies come after me, but I never went after anyone. I created an image when I was looking for bloggers a LONG TIME AGO when I created this site (well, not XPoff, Twinkinfo). I doubt it's even worth the effort.

They have been using it for years on/off. Some people have even mentioned it on here. Tonight, just for giggles, I sent MMO-Champions a message on Twitter about it.

I don't really care personally. Just thought I would let the owner here know that the image was originally made for this site. I doubt MMOC gives a shit that they stole it.

PS. Can anyone name the visible gear I am wearing? It's simple to what I will be wearing on classic.

Edit: I am going to spend some time searching my hard drive for the orginal PSD of this. I probably have it on here somewhere.
[doublepost=1566620766,1566619759][/doublepost]Edit: I didn't find the PSD for this one, but I did find the original PNG and another version of Daphane that I used on Twinking.net.

It doesn't take much talent to make these which is why it baffles me how a big site like MMO-Champions hasn't made their own image for help wanted posts. :)

Update: Found another

and yet another one....

PS. Off topic, but why do so many people here have "Founder" titles?

Talbar Mantle for shoulders.
Lucky Fishing Hat for helm.

A handful of things gloves and shoes could be.

Looks like Colorful Kilt or some sort of item using that skin for legs.

They probably used it once because they needed one and yoinking one off a less known site is easier than making/comissioning one. Then they kept using it for the sake of consistency.

That's just my guess though.

You're probably right. Since nobody cared when they started using it, they kept on. I was long gone by the time they started using it.

Legs were most likely darkweave or maybe green spellpower legs. I can't remember the era, but since I was wearing Bloody Apron, it was probably before WOTLK... I went all about SP at that point.

90% sure it’s nat paggles boots. Since you were wearing bloody apron from butcher, assuming the gloves were for Stam as well?

What no one references though is your guild tabard. Simpler times back then. The game has so many tabards now, you rarely see anyone using a regular old guild tabard.

Crazy. I remember when you posted the image for the first time. Curious to see what/if mmo says anything

I think it is sketchy that they used your picture without asking permission, but, if you don't really care I guess there is no need to press charges.
It's definitely not something that is looked on kindly in the webmaster world, but today's social media image sharing and memeing has made it far too common. It's definitely not worth the fight.

There was a ton of drama surrounding the sale of TI and merger. Founders amount to the committee that resolved the chaos. Essentially the title was a consolation carrot.

They used the image again today looking for a Web Designer. Not interested in the position, but I sent them another message since they didn't reply to my Twitter post.

I know right. I just reread what I wrote on Twitter where I said I don't care, but then I seem to care.
Oh well. I guess my disgust with this Classic Wow launch has me a bit salty.

I probably shouldn't care. :)
I'd be miffed if someone was using my work without my permission. But then, yea... you gotta ask yourself just how miffed and is it really worth it?

It's an undeniably cool design, though.

You should definitely care. They stole your work!
I'd even be inclined to cut them a little slack, if they'd at least try to "play it off" a bit... something like:

Magic Find is Hiring - Web Designer
We are looking to refresh and improve MMO-Champion along with
our other gaming sites and are looking for help from a motivated
designer (or two!) who can work alongside us to bring a better
experience to our users, and create some new graphics so we
can finally stop using this one that we stole off of a twink-site.

I read the "ad" before I read your post. I was about to call a WIN if this was real. Good stuff. :)

I thought I had seen it on here before!! HA!
You may be able to use the way back machine to prove it to them.

You should PM Chaud (their admin) at MMOC. And inform them of the situation. Tell them that someone is advertising on their site with stolen intellectual property. Otherwise it’s very possible you will get banned and the thread will be locked by the moderators.
MMOC’s quality of moderation has seen a steep decline in the last couple of years.
Good Luck!!!

/cheers
