You dont need the mailbox as F2P. You get the mount in a present-warped thingy in your mount collection. Maybe I have a part of this change cuz I spammed the Blizz forums for years for this It was stupid to not be able to use the in-game shop if you are not a sub... And now they can make more money for selling mounts and pets.

Bundled services are offered during the checkout process like "I see youre server transferring this toon. check this box to also race change it"
