But... But... in the land of the Free? Are you sure?

You must be listening to left wing rhetoric with those wild clear minded, open views.

Chops is a card carrying members of the “democratic” socialists of America.

No. Learn to read... where're you from Alabama?
Even the poorest US state is richer per capita than your craphole. /whoops

Your rhetoric is so toxic, actively dismissing anything that contradicts you as a leftist lie while vomiting spurious 'facts'.

Actually I just live in the real world where just because comrade Bloomberg says it doesn’t mean it’s true. In fact can, in. His case it almost always means it isn’t true.

Learn to think peasant.

naw, I find the DSA to be an embarrassing bunch of whiney children.

I am, however, a card carrying member of the IWW. Just so you have all the facts to properly insult me.

Wow you’re literally trying to overthrow capitalism completely. I sure hope you don’t own a gun!

Wrong again peasant - and from an actual reliable source

This is also a forbes blog post - anyone can contribute to this... just to quote the article itself:

"I’ve been asked to link to my source, but I’m afraid there’s no study to point to. It’s original research."

The whole article is someone spinning some numbers with no actual research or control in place - Forbes is a terrible source for news as anyone can write what they want and post it as a blog piece.

Not to mention it was posted 5 years ago...

You truly are an imbecile. I wish you all the best in spewing your outdated, closed and uneducated opinion across the world wide web. All anyone has to do is read through your response here to see that's what you do.

Of course that isn’t PPP adjusted so not apples to apples but regardless - you’re bragging about having a GDP per capita if $42k - hahahahaha!

Poor and not free - what a bad combination.

There is this thing called “actual research” you jackass. In the real world, people do things themselves and then others can cite them. In your socialist fairy tale, only linking to a fabricated study via mother jones counts. Idiot!

Isn't your health insurance just the same as tax anyway.... but far more expensive?

No health insurance isn’t a tax no more than paying for gas or my car is a tax or my clothes is a tax. We’re free people here - we don’t have to beg the crown’s permission to eat dinner. We buy it ourselves. Yes the Democrats give it away to mooches, and yes the mooches are slaves like you as a result. But most of us are free and will never accept the bondage of needing government goodies to live.

Actual research has sources. That piece didn't. Nobody apart from morons like you would cite that blog post as a evidence.

Isn't the US rolling out Tax penalties for those that don't have health insurance? Isn't it mandatory in some states?

Free land of course...

It's just a private tax because people like yourself don't like it when the state tells you what to do. But then you end up doing what they want you to anyway, you just pay a higher price. lols.

Ah yes - I usually ring the palace on my way home from work.

I'm not bragging about anything, I'm just telling you to get your facts straight. Surprises me that a country like the US, with such a high GDP produces insular people like yourself.

I was coming back just to check on some classic twinking :D

But I'll give my pov from the 3rd safest country in the world :)
I dont have a deep knowledge of US politics/history so it might be a bit off tho.

I believe the problem isn't the weapons but the people, sure if the weapons were of lower grade maybe instead of 10 killed it could be only 2, but thats not very comforting for those 2 who die is it?
And trying to ban weapons imo wouldn't solve it also, because even in my country it's really not that hard to illegally buy them.

Look at the peoples problems instead, make sure there's some systems in place to prevent people falling in absolute misery and to help them get out of it. Don't promote the culture of "Screw yours, I got mine"

<Yeh yeh commy propaganda> I can imagine some are thinking that at this point :D
But no, I dispise communism aswell as extremes in general. I generally believe the best solutions are always somewhere around the middle.

Maybe shave a bit of the military budget and don't promote so many war and promote a bit more people?

And just a question that bugs me a bit, if anyone know, what is the criteria that makes some mass-shoots be called mass-shoots and others be called terrorism?

And just a question that bugs me a bit, if anyone know, what is the criteria that makes some mass-shoots be called mass-shoots and others be called terrorism?

TERRORISM
The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

MASS SHOOTING
A mass shooting is an incident involving multiple victims of firearms-related violence. There is no widely accepted definition of the term "mass shooting", although it is normally understood to exclude mass killings as a result of terrorist, authorised law enforcement or authorised military actions. The United State' Congressional Research Services acknowledges that there is not a broadly accepted definition, and defines a "public mass shooting" as an event where someone selects four or more people indiscriminately, and kills them, echoing the FBI's definition of the term "Mass Murder".

Obviously the part that says "someone selects four or more people indiscriminately" is not true for a lot of the mass assaults/murders labelled as mass shootings. My guess is that's because there's no official definition of 'Mass Shooting' so it's been coined to cover an incident where 4 or more casualties are involved excluding the shooter.

Terrorism and Mass Shootings can over-lap because of this.

Actually, the US is the longest running contiguous elected government currently in the world I believe.
240+years...

San Marino and Isle of Man are longer if you want to count those I suppose.

/cheers

240 years as a nation is nothing compared to the years of established countries around the world.... The US was basically all settlers from mainly European countries.....

Whatever you do don’t watch world news or national news. Just do yourself that favor.
Only watch local news.

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/

Just search you favorite national or world news and you will see how biased they really are. Not a single one is truly unbiased. Sad but true. They ALL have an agenda they are pushing.
When you are watching/reading the news you must be ever vigilant in thinking “what agenda is this person/company pushing today” and why?
Many are blaming it on “assault style” weapons. And calling for an all out ban as such.

What exactly is an “assault weapon”? A regular rifle with some scary pieces of plastic on it? Or a automatic firing weapon? Automatic firing weapons (class 3) are very very very very very difficult for a civilian to get their hands on LEGALLY. There only about 630,000 in existence and that is all there ever will be unless the laws change.
What most people don’t realize that a “machine gun” has not been used to commit a crime in the US since 1934(think Bonnie and Clyde days) much less kill someone.
I don’t think “assault weapons” are the threat. In my opinion, “assault people” are the threat. Believe me I have seen plenty of them.

BTW, more people are killed by drunks every year than killed by people shooting other people. Where is the outcry? Why doesn’t that make the news? Why don’t the politicians talk about that? $$$$$$ in lobbying is why. Alcohol companies contributed over $14 million to political campaigns just this year. Nearly $31 last year. If the politicians attack the drunks they attack their income. They won’t do that.

/cheers

Sure news are biased to a certain degree. The main reason for biased media is privately owned media. Media that's licensed through sort of tax system has less incentive to be biased, because they don't need opinion-based ratings etc. Is it perfect? No, but it's a way better alternative.

A quick google search for what defines an assault weapon will answer one of your questions pretty easily... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon

And because alcohol kills people, that means it's okay for people to shoot other people, because hey, alcohol kills, so I might as well use my gun to kill others too.... Nice logic man. A huge difference is also that people that consume alcohol or smoke etc. do so by own choice. When I walk down the street and get caught in a crossfire, that's not by choice... Or if I were to be a student in a school that got massacred...

And it's no secret that places that has less guns, also have less gun related crime. It's not rocket science. You say assault-people are the problem. I can agree to that also, but why give the assault-people the means to EASILY make as much damage as possible? It's literally retarded.

The trump administration has dropped that penalty. It’s true when left wingers were elected they tried to control us and a liberal court agreed. But now we’ve elected people who support freedom and they removed that penalty.

Not only is it irrelevant but it’s untrue as well. Current governments are not older than ours. The French has the murderous French Revolution. The brits replaced subjection to the monarch to subjection to the commons. In both cases, after our existing government was formed.

He said established countries, not established governments. Of which the USA isn't the longest still running. That would be San Marino who's constitution was written in 1600.

The idea that welfare solves this is absurd. Quite frankly it’s talk like that that’s contributing to the crisis. Solutions by the left for problems their hate created arent problem. Work is health - mooching off the government isn’t.

Kid you read at about a 4th grade level. Watching you talk about our 240 years being young is absurd.

I'd like to hear the ideas that you think would reduce the number of mass shootings/gun violence rate in the USA - you seem to be wise in all other areas & clearly have a strong view on what's good for your fellow citizen.
