Patch 8.2.5 PTR Development Notes

This could mean pops in other brackets if it comes to pvp, 29,39,49 etc all queing together

This patch might save or break us all, lets just hope it all turns out to be positive! I just like the fact of the pvp scailing just hope its just a ilvl squish for higher lvls and not the old legion crap again where ilvl is best lol... And the fact that you get item rewards again with people who haven't done the quest in your group has been my dream sense cata tbh. Also be intersting because if we 20's could join the old 19's if we wanted to lawl.
They for sure need to nerf trinkets and the gems for low lvl brackets because some pop-able trinkets can be broken and mess with our brackets.

This will be uhm.. interesting

Keep dreaming

Not exactly a dream considering they are testing it on the ptr, I do not think it will make it to live either

Introducing Party Sync
During this PTR we’re experimenting with a new mode that makes it easier for players in a party to do quests and play together: Party Sync. When players activate Party Sync, everyone in the party becomes aligned to the same quest state, including phases. By mousing over a quest in your tracker, you can see who is on the quest, what their progress is, and who’s ready to turn in the quest. There’s something else we’re going to try out on the PTR, a “replay” quest feature. This will allow players who have already completed certain quests to replay those quests with their friends for rewards that are appropriate to their current level, regardless of the original level of the quest.
We’re also relaxing level restrictions on queueing for instanced content with your friends. This allows lower-level players to queue for content in their level range, and higher-level players can choose to join them by having their level scaled down while they’re in the instance. This feature will be available for dungeon instances for PTR Week 1, with PvP instances being flagged in the following weeks. Please note that unlike Timewalking, when your level is scaled down via Party Sync you will temporarily lose access to abilities and powers (such as Azerite traits) with requirements that exceed your reduced level.

Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you on the 8.2.5 PTR!2

Here's my thought's based on what I read:
-Replay quest isn't going to scale up, just down. You can't replay a quest your friend did on a higher level. It's essentially removing the cap from the zone, so your 120 friend can come to Goldshire and get an appropriate item, not one capped at 60.
-Items from replay don't say they will be the same as the original quest item, but time will tell.
-Everything in BGs points to scaling down too and not up. It even says they loose their abilities. I doubt we get access to new BGs from this.

I hope...
They lump classic into f2p, 1-20. That would be amazing.

It sounds like its probably only going to be scaling down, but still interesting...

From the sounds of it, I would imagine they will basically scale the reward beyond the level 60 (or 20 or w/e) cap they have currently. Thats probably easier than figuring out some system of generating new items for quests that may or may not offer item rewards. Especially following the changes that allow rare/epic upgrades. It sounds probable that we can use the repeatable quest feature to have multiple chances at certain pieces of gear - but it all depends on the details.

And scaled down pvp will be interesting as well, especially with how things work with xpon/xpoff.
  • If we basically combine every twink bracket by queueing down to the lowest common denominator (levelwise) of 19 WSG, there might be enough of a population for reliable games.
  • In theory 120s are xp-on characters just like f2p/vets/legion 110s. 120s might be able to play with their f2p/vet buddies without having to deal with having an account with no sub.

Youre going to have to convince people who dont want to play 19s to que on their 29s, 39s, 49s, 59s... to play 19s.

And then convince those 49s and 59s to not use, say, ramstein bolts in the 19 bracket.

Good. Fucking. Luck.

The dream of the lvl 20 DK/DH lives

Having those in lower level BG would certainly increase activity, being able to use a toon from any bracket regardless of the loss of abilities sounds almost too good to be possible. Although "BiS" even at 20 could become a level decision, not a quest one. Especially if things like leech trickle down without being removed, which it should.

I have utmost faith that overlord Blizz will muck it up epically. Absolute opposite of the potential. As usual.

edit- although come to think of it, DH and DK might only be able to use auto attack...

Except it would probably default to the lowest level, so the higher you go the less likely it would happen per bracket.

Depends on how badly ppl hate 19s. Hopefully xpoff games > no xpoff games regardless of level - but we'll see...

And no clue yet on how the gear will work scaled down. I have a suspicion we might be in for some sort of ilvl templating again...but they could just scale everything down and ppl have to deal with the edge cases that get missed. But IMO, games with OP trinkets and class imbalance > no games.

It'll really all be in blizz's implementation...so its time to hurry up and wait.

Iceháwk’s (or every Hunters ) dream may become a reality......
Replay Keeshan’s over and over.......
Though, going to be mighty painful without Allied Races :(
But I welcome the opportunity to go back and re-quest provided they allow a fresh opportunity at the rewards.
