Veteran Quick Start Gearing Guide [BFA]

Cheers fellows,
should i do the quests with player lvl 20 and not with the required lvl e.g. Dastardly Bracers are ilvl 20/quest can be done with lvl 10 and if i do em with player lvl 20 will the rewards scale up to a higher ilvl (sry 4 bad grammar and perhaps stupid question)?
you should wait until lvl 20 to do any quests because, yes, the gear will scale to your level.

I'm interested in starting a vet character after the changes to the other brackets.

I've also just come back from a 5 month break so a LOT has changed since then....

Please correct me if i'm wrong but would this be the standard routine for making a level 20 vet account these days:

  1. Level toon to 20 on a subbed account.
  2. Lock level.
  3. Take on key world quests for BIS items.
  4. If no epics turn up, delete and repeat.
  5. Once Epics turn up, stock on consumables and useful enchants.
  6. Wait for Sub to run out and bam.
  7. Vet account with twink complete?
Anything I'm missing?

Another thing - how many attempts have you veteran veterans had at creating characters with decent epics?

You’ve pretty much summed it up with ur points 1 to 7.
Only some people who have access to Allied Races will keep making them to try for purple quest items. Save levelling to 20.
I haven’t yet re-rolled any Vets.
Mine were made way back and I’m just gonna roll with em. There decently geared.
It was doing my head in all the questing on them and my F2P’s.:p

So, is the current Fury Warr gear updated? What I really want to know is if I have enchants on vellums, can I apply them to gear AFTER I return to a starter account?

From what I understand, any enchants from after classic can be applied. And the enchants that you can use if you learn enchanting can be applied (up to 75 or 100 or something). But not other classic enchants. Notably crusader.

As to the fury warr gear being up-to-date, I think other than epic gear (notably the pacifier, but also any quest epics you get) its still relevant.

yes as @necroaqua stated (thanks for helpin jus gonna reinforce the fact <3)

I'm probably not going to rework this guide to include epics. This is a quickstart guide and can still serve well for brand new characters. Treat is as a "pre-epics guide" so to say.

Also if anyone interested to help I can pay in game gold for this service thanks again
your best bet would be to start your own thread in one of the trading sub forums or if you're on BH you can probably find someone in trade easily

Just tested and “Mageweave Bandage” are BiS, NOT the heavy version just the standard.
Mageweave was healing for around 1k over 8seconds at 20% vers, less at lower vers but still better than Heavy Runecloth.

EDIT: Apparently this is only true in open world. We tested last week and once you enter instanced PVP Heavy RC became the better choice, obviously scales better once you hit 29. The character I was on mageweave scaled to around 900 while HRC scaled to 1100.

TLDR;
BiS World PVP = Mageweave Bandage
BiS Battlegrounds/Arena = Heavy Runecloth Bandage

Just revamped the sets in this guide to be more up to date. I decided to just use the term "BG Crate" instead of actual perfect roles because it makes the formatting look a lot cleaner and min maxing perfect stat roles / suffixes doesn't really suit the idea of a quick start twink guide.

I also finished embedding the links in a few more sets, maybe I'll have all the links done by Shadowlands when I need to re-do an entire quick start guide, yay...

This guide is now up to date, including the new bis enchants, new BG gear scaling, etc.
