Level squish coming affect on twinking

level squish has been mentioned by blizzard several times, there have been many theories or ideas. i believe blizzard will implement it next prepatch/expac along with more information, possibly this incoming blizzcon or sooner

this post was on reddit...may not be true, but the level squish part whether accurate or not would cause new PVP brackets, no matter how it is done

Would be great if they make Vanilla 1-20.
Would open up all Vanilla zones and dungeons for gear.
Would also make bg’s interesting........
I’d welcome it. Would finally be able to get Gnomer to scale correctly. :p

My worries - will they keep f2p level cap at 20 or decrease it? How will a squish affect current gear we've been grinding for since the patch? Need more info!

TL;DR: The most-likely "intended outcome" will simply be to make any displayed "level" show at 1/2 the value it previously was, affecting absolutely nothing whatsoever. That being said, this is Blizzard™ we're talking about, so there's simply no predicting what the actual results will be... especially if they try to incorporate this into some other major overhaul of new-expansion game mechanics.
 
When ya repost the 1st 4chan leak and ya see the 2nd and 3rd have more attention than that...

But ya, might wanna speculate it. Since they have classic on blizzard’s shoulders and could edit at any given time.

Also, would be interesting if they did had vanilla free to us 20s. Wonder if we could do those raids then.

Dont wanna break your heart but F2P will probably go to 10. That said! If it goes to 10 but Vanilla is truly gonna go 1-20 instead of 1-30 (1-30 would fit with current game design) then that does theoretically open up all content that is currently 1-30, since we'd be half way up the vanilla levels instead of just a third of the way up. It's possible we gain quite a few zones. It's also possible vanilla goes 1-30, we become lvl 10 and we maybe lose some. It's also possible they say fuck it and let all of vanilla be F2P, I suppose.

Its just as likely it all becomes GF'd BiS.

My biggest question is how they calculate the squish. Will it be by displayed level? Or will it be by XP accumulated? In other words, will a vet with 0 xp into 21 go to 10 while a vet with 1 xp away from 21 go to 11?

Worst case scenario, will they overlook banked xp and our old F2Ps end up unplayable at level 15?

I personally believe the level squish will be followed by another stat squish for better ironing the play experience

I also feel that Vanillla level cap will be higher than other expansions (let's say 30 or 40) but with an higher level per hour. This would be to not affect the content available to F2P and to better distribute spells to new characters since one of BFA's greatest complains was class design.
 
i had no intention to triple post this subject, i did not know it was speculated in 10-19 and mmo-champ forums, since i chance ever read into one, and never into the other.

hopefully in general forum we get more discussion, and awareness. maybe more twink players will just que BGs with gear they have rather than farm endless for epeen's

Here I was hoping I’d get the whole Classic experience on my 20........:D
 
20s will get access to scarlet monastery since it's located in a low lvl zone. The cap will stay the same, no level 10. More spells for some specs will be added. Deathbolt gets a ridiculous buff for affliction. Druids, Shamans and hunters bow before their Warlock masters. Disc priests nerfed to the ground. Crusader nerfed. Mark of the hidden satyr nerfed. Sub spec becomes the dominant rogue spec at low lvls due to devs being tired of pirate shit.
 
when will this exp/patch hit? any quesses?

alot of speculations, but one thing is for sure!
this might open a huge window of unintended items for all twinks for a period of time
aka satchel/northeren engie/ilvl180 stuff

Imagine posting in the 4th+ thread on this subject while completely ignorant to how the level squish is going to work. Your opinions r highly regarded by blizzard pls continue.
 
Theoretically nothing should really change if they just cut everything in half... But I am gonna make sure to deck out every twink I have before the squish just in case things get messed with and gfed. Never know what things will change when Blizz starts messing around and overhauling.
