EU+US LF info on epic procs

No. You must re-roll and try again if you miss.

I think the Garrisons used to have an addition that would increase warforged or whatever it was. This doesn't apply to epic upgrades from quests though.

yes

i have a somewhat simple theory that has done pretty well for me..

in hearthstone, your chance of getting a legendary card drastically drops after you get a legendary card from a pack, my assumption is that blizzard has a somewhat similar feature in wow, so i stagger important quests with a lot of filler quests inbetween, ontop of that ill hold a main quest for 4 weeks or so before i hand in.

i cant exactly prove this, but it worked for like 4 pieces of BOP epic gear, 3 of which went from green>epic

Dont't believe me?
this is his toon https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/bleeding-hollow/saxxon
It's not a reroll (check honorable kills) this is his main which he had prior to BFA.
It's impossible to get all BiS Epics he has without some form of method.
It not trash epics either. These are the real full vers pieces you want.
I mean people make insane amount of rerolls just to get his chest. He got it on his main without rerolling.
He even goes on to say he's still has more epics to get. It just the time factor.

Anyways this is close as you'll get.

Has anyone, even saxxon, been able to recreate this success on another toon?

I dont know of fillers work but I did it when I was questing. I got a few epics (3 of them rings) and even if it doesnt work it just feels like a better way.

However

Its also a gamble. On one quest I did one filler too many getting the wrong epic as Im talking to the npc about to hand in quest for bis boots.

These threads always seem like a TV show where they hunt ghosts or some crazy shit. But ye. No clue if it works but it does feel better.

The fillers part about his post confuses me.
Does he mean any quest or does it have to be one that gives quest rewards in order to ramp up your luck.
And exactly how many of those filler quests should I do.

I still have quests on Alliance side.
Gonna give this method a try once I faction.

I think theres some validity to the idea that you need fillers. But i've also gotten (useless) epics on back to back quests. So I remain unconvinced that its anything but pure RNG and Saxxon is just the luckiest (and most ocd) among us.

It's worth trying for sure. I've posted this before but I had Sparkproof proc epic on a toon i'd left alone for a few weeks after getting Sooth chest, I wasn't going to use the toon as i'd failed with weapons when I first made it.

Left alone again for a few weeks, did some non quest reward fillers and the pre req to Ello's band and sadly legs went epic on the way. Didn't turn in Ello's as I figured i'd wait again. Will see what happens in a couple of weeks...

If this is not a coincidence and a true method, things seem to proc pretty soon when questing after a few weeks, next time I will do lots of non-reward fillers and just go for the turn in I want so I don't risk a dud epic again.

Looks like my answer is no. I'll be doing quests asap. Not rerolling. Not waiting.

You could have come to this conclusion if you just did 2 seconds of research a thread asking this same question is made like once a week and the same answer is given everytime

I leveled an undead to 20 without touching any quests that had gear rewards and I got two epics in the same session. Tried to see if it would work again on another non-allied race leveling the same way and no dice.

Really interesting stuff....

To maximize this method for a brand new 20, if I’m understanding correctly, you’d pick the most important piece to proc Epic (for example, Soothsaying for Rogue), reroll until you get it, then complete filler quests as much as possible and wait a month before completing the next most important piece (a main hand, for example)? Rinse and repeat until sexy like Saxxon?

Anything I’m missing here to be most efficient?

I've read all the posts (this thread and others) with interest and post this for what it's worth.

I have an alt on a separate veteran account that I only use to camp rare spawns so my mains can be more productive.

In the course of levelling her to 20 I decided to not turn in a few quest rewards - just to see if the theory of waiting a while would increase the chance of an epic upgrade. One was Sweet, Merciless Revenge in Shadowfang Keep.

I last played her on or around Thursday 8th August. We then went on holiday for over 2 weeks. (Scotland - an inner ear virus & consequent balance problems kept us at low level but excellent, thanks for asking.)

I then played her yesterday, Monday 27th August so a gap of 19 days.

I turned in the above quest, selected Shadowfang Shoulderpads (pauses to be told I should have picked Sandals of Sacrifice) & they upgraded to epic - here she is wearing them: Picklë

Not overwhelming evidence I know, but I'll leave her other quests a couple of weeks, try again & update.
