Hey guys,

I'm having trouble deciding whether to roll a lock or priest. I want stable damage with stable survivability and overall enjoyable to play, but I just can't decide between these two. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Disc priest for sure

I really think you should play a warlock, destro pumps insane damage, demo is good for 1v1s, and affliction is great as well. Everyone plays healers in this bracket, do you really want to be another healer?

if you want self sufficient survivability you're gonna wanna go priest regardless of what spec you want to play, priests can simply just survive longer than warlocks can

you'll probably have more fun playing warlock though as they are quite good, especially if you run with premades. theres a lot of healers so you'll just be another needle in the haystack, however you can fill a more niche role as a warlock in premade groups. not to say that this niche isn't valuable, in fact I love having warlocks in my grps.

but ya back to my first statement, if you're solo qing and want survivability priest all the way, if you queue with the homies you'll be able to survive and thrive as a warlock

or solo q warlock fuck it +respect

Given how quick and easy it is to lvl up chars, if I were you I'd make both and try them out.

But for what it's worth, I solo-queue priest and warlock, and briefly:
1. For survivability discipline priest is sweet. Shadow survivability is comparatively low esp since they removed the dmg reduction bonus on shadowform. Warlocks also have lower survivability, but if you play your cards right you can last long enough to do some major dmg so dying so often isn't so painful.
2. For dmg, destruction warlock, followed by demonology.
3. For fun... well that's up to you! I personally find holy and affliction specs not to be fun, but there are others who love them.

gl&hf :)

I preferred lock in legion tbh. Locks and Shadow are fucked right now because arcanes damage output is absurdly strong in BFA with better mobility and better CC

Shadow has sick animations though

If certain cooldowns are up i can beat a mage on my destro lock. But yeah, mostly agree.
Esp re shadow void explosion - looks so beautiful, but so hard to use in PvP.

EDit - come to think of it, no i probably can't. They are probably pure F2P or leveller mages. Vet vs vet, mage would win, yeah.

Priest is inarguably more powerful destroy is fun but since it sounds like you want something that is self relient priest is defiantly going to be better at that. I am going to suggest holy priest, they have an extra c.c. that hits hard and they can stack a pretty good burst of dmg with little effort( there sustained dmg is not good though, if ur casting smite enough to top dmg charts you are probably underutilizing the class.) they heal very well obviously and have a huge burst healing CD. Holy priest is very versfutile class.

^ This. :D

Just the simple process of leveling for a few hours should be enough for you to get a sense of which class you enjoy more... and if it turns-out you like them "equally", then start doing quests and see which character gets luckier with the Epic Upgrades. ;)
