Level Squish Survey
Reddit user Nivens reported that they received an interesting survey from Blizzard regarding an upcoming level squish. The wording of this survey makes it seem that a level squish is already slated to happen sometime in the future. This has not been confirmed by Blizzard.

During a previous Battle for Azeroth Q&A on Twitch, Ion Hazzikostas said the team was exploring the idea of a level squish, as new players may be deterred by seeing such high levels needed to reach the endgame.

Lol if it happens I bet lvl 19s will be some obscure level like 8 or something

well im also scared about that thing someone said
if they squish levels but we stay lvl 20 and technically the new f2p cap will be lower cus of the squish like lvl 10 and were locked out of our toons

But your toon will also be level ten. Why would they leave our toons unsquished when they squish everyone elses?

Mad

Guys, they've already talked about how they view this working.

Your level changes. That's it. You keep your gear, your current ilvl etc. The only thing they want to change is making each level feel more meaningful by imbuing it with character progress.

IE less levels means more levels that you get abilities and talents at. No more leveling from, say, 110-120 and not seeing an increase in character power via new or improved abilities.

Honestly, if it works the way they're talking about, nothing will change but the number on your UI and maybe a zone or two we gain or lose access to.

29s become... 14s? F2P becomes 10? Brackets are 4-9, 10-14, etc? Maybe?

So, nothing changes
[doublepost=1560520214,1560520097][/doublepost]I say that and it just occurred to me that the BG level requirement might very well stay at 10. We could see the end of "19s".

That will obviously be Blizzrd's intent, but you just know that there will be something that they "fail to account for"... maybe it'll "break" the level-restriction on some random chest/portal/dungeon, or a minor enchant will "scale negative" and suddenly give a (2^32-1) bonus, or some obscure category of gear will have its required-level "square-rooted" instead of halved.

The bottom-line is that whatever coding-clusterfuck Blizzard inevitably dumps on us, it'll be the duty of every able-bodied gamer on this forum to immediately jump-in and poke at every possible mechanic you can, and see if there are any "unexpected opportunities" to be had before it's fixed. ;)

Sounds like a good reason to quit this shit game for good.
