Recent PvP Changes

I was looking up some topics on changes to low level battleground PvP brackets and have a few questions, since I'm not certain or aware of the precise changes. I know I heard the xpon and xpoff brackets are split up, so queue times have been extremely long for me with xpoff. If it matters, I play as a Human Warrior.

1) Is there a particular reason to queue for specific battlegrounds than random ones, if I don't care which one I enter? In the past, I would queue up for random battlegrounds, since I'd get a shot at some decent equipment out of it, and be more likely to queue up for something instead of nothing. However, I saw a couple posts recommending to queue for individual BGs instead, though I don't know why.

2) Were random dungeon/battleground boxes changed? Some were saying that the best stuff doesn't drop from them anymore, though again, I don't know why.

3) How do random equipment upgrades work? From doing normal questing, I have observed that I'll sometimes see an uncommon reward get upgraded to rare or epic quality. However, I would think this would be impractical to depend upon, since you'll never get everything upgraded from quests, even if I were willing to reroll a character over and over again.

On a related note, someone was talking about rare drops that get upgraded. Does that apply to dungeon boss drops too, or is it just quests? The way the post was describing it, it sounded like they were talking about boss drops being upgraded, but I haven't ever seen that.

Thanks for the info!

Quests and single source drops (like how Long Crawler Limb only drops from sea crabs in westfall, but not dungeon boss drops) can upgrade to epic, and if you dont get too many epics from your quests, there are a good few BoEs, tho idk how many for warrior. Dungeon loot got a little bit of an upgrade but you can probably check the quick start gearing guide to see what kinda gear you want. At 19, ques will only really pop in the late evenings, though there are exploits to get you into a bg with lvlers if you really wanna do stuff during the day. If queing twink bgs tho, you def wanna do specific WSG. People do sometimes get pops with random bgs but afaik specific queing wsg is the best way.

1). When 19's do pop, it's WSG. This has been a decision due to lack of players queing, and generally preferring it over other battlegrounds. When u only get a few bgs a night, might as well be WSG instead of boring AB.

2). No changes, just other stuff improved(Quest Epics, Rare spawn loot, Unique mob loot)

3). All green quest rewards can go go epic, rare spawn only loot can go epic, unique mob loot can go epic (Foamspittle from Murloc Oracles, Slicer blade from Harvest Reapers)

Ah, okay. Yeah, from what few queues I've gotten, they were for WSG. I just found it oddly specific, before.

4) Is there a list or way to research what non-boss loot equipment is available? With dungeon farming, figuring out what was available was listed in-game, or I could look them up on wowhead. However, I don't know how I would look up rare or unique spawn loot. I thought they just gave you "Random Equipment Slot" of the "Random Stat Boost".

This is only half right. The main reason people are discourages from queing random is that it's fucked. When 9 people queue WSG and 1 queues random it wont pop. You can have 15 queued on each side and if people have queued random it wont pop.

Some BG crate gear is still BiS but thats tough shit.

Blue quest gear can proc too

Ah, okay. That makes a bit more sense to me.

I thought I'd try BGs with XP on until I hit a level bracket cap, so as to mitigate queue times. Holy cow, that's even worse than combined on/off BGs. At least before, people remotely tried to have decent gear (even if only heirlooms + quest gear), and there was a remote amount of coordination. With XP on, the groups are far more casual, which I suppose is the point, and there's no coordination, though even with XP off, that can still happen; albeit, less frequently. I thought I might do better with XP on and mildly optimized gear, but I was very mistaken. If I decide to continue with low level PvP, I think I'd rather stick go with twink XP off, even with the longer queue times.

Absolutely, I would never bother to twink with xp on.

If you're US get involved with wargames, v competitive
If EU just queue around pop times
