hahaha wtf who came up with these rules

I like the idea of naxx/zg enchants being usable- especially now when the likely gear advantages will be those who have rerolled targeting specific quest epics.

Just curious- why is the DBM addon banned?

Why are we banning 4 heals? Why did my team and others have no input on how these rules were created?

I totally agree with you on this one my friend. People that are running the tournament and creating the rule set should not be involved in the actual playing of the tournament. That’s why I have always suggested a neutral committee to be set up for the TC. As we can see, the date has already been set to favor at least one committee member’s team. What other rules have been set and will be changed to favor the committee member(s)?
The date should have been set by administration on the website without knowledge of people’s availability. I understand Blackout is an admin but he knew people’s schedule. If people can’t make it then tough sh!t. That’s how the world works sometimes.

At any rate, the TC will have my usual donation as they have in the past few years with the usual stipulations. And just as last year I might even add in a bonus if the WoW stars align!

Because its not your tournament. You're simply a participant. Read the rules, go with the flow, show up, and get owned.

Thanks!

The way I view it is all of our tournament my friend. The TC isn’t just one person. They simply are the caretakers of this year. I am quite sure there are many that feel the same way I do on this matter.

[doublepost=1557407216][/doublepost]@Blackout Thanks for taking on this thankless cause of running the TC this year. No doubt in the ensuing weeks you will regret doing it. There are a few of us that appreciate dedicated individuals.
Many of the people on your team I have never seen on our beloved forum. Care to enlighten us to who they are? Are they new members? Just people that lurked(nothing wrong with in the least).
Good luck, you are going to need it. Seriously.

/cheers

They are from an ""esports"" organisation, not tinks

Idk who is worse at announcements, blackout or conq

Guys I think that @Blackout is saying that his team could not broadcast or run the event on the day that people voted for, not that his team could not participate in the Cup. At least that's what I hope he meant. Otherwise yeah, nepotism.

If this is the case, than I am worried for how this tournament will be ran. It got picked up by an esports broadcasting team that couldn't even notice an availability issue, how will they run an all day tournament that they, for the most part, probably have no idea how it has been ran previously.

The tournament administration should not have a bias in making the tournament rules just to help out their own team, if that poll showing availability had a mistake on it, then a new poll should be put up so people can cast votes on dates that better suit them, not just choose another date.

The rule of only allowing three healers was obviously not talked about amongst teams as all the scrims going on, besides GSC, have been oriented around the typical four healer comp. This gives me the fear that this years rules were not debated amongst the team leaders, and the tournament hosts blindly set rules based off of one or two teams opinions.

I guess being picked up by an esports broadcasting company throws out any precedence.

You are so full of shit and talk so much nonsense its unreal. You are like that guy who always have to comment on something and then missing the point and topic like 100% of the time.

I can see how limiting healers to 3 can improve the pace of the game from 0-0 games and 1-0 games to more faster games because you have less healers to rely on so it comes down to more skill which I would assume the intent would be. Which tbh I like, but I don't know if that will lead to teams playing the same comps as before just with a shadowpreist which can do nearly the same affect or teams doing far more mid damage which seems to be the intent to differentiate teams.

But for teams that want to 3 heal and mabye also rdruid/rogue, shadow could also have the same affect, maybe even a better one. But hopefully with this change games between teams that have large differentials in skill level will cause a faster 3-0 than one team just forcing a 1-0 or even 0-0.

I'd be unsure how to change the rules where it increases the difference between skilled teams to be larger instead of stale games, it'd be something I'd have to think about for a while to see an option to do so. But with this added rule it'll definitely do so, for now.

The 2 class limit seems kinda stupid. Should be a 2 spec limit instead. The fact that Shadow Priest isn't viable simply because 2 Disc Priests are better is kinda toxic.

Three healer limit is very reasonable.

That seems like an appropriate explanation! Thank you for the clarification.

Word is, they just needed to use his name in order to register. They are having a hard time finding players. But this was expected.. They have no plans in actually letting him play. Not stunning news.
