F2P vs VET - differences

*sniffle* I care *sniffle*
Tbh no one is forcing people to unlock vet percs. If you upgrade it and don't touch it for a month - no one will be able to tell difference.

I mean, I have a vet account too. I have a hard time adequately explaining why pure F2P appeals to me the way it does but I really do take a great deal of pride in the sort of "collectors" aspect of it.

I dunno. I feel like f2p is the last true twinking in the game. Everything else is just camping the AH and whining about premades.

The approval of 2-3 nerds on a forum is good enough for me to justify my Starter Edition "pride".

I'm sure there are a few more of us out there who still hold our Starter Edition achievements in high regard, quite a few are currently inactive however (in-game or on the forums).

@Donor & @F2Phero come to mind. @icehawk also had a F2P account, not sure if his was linked with his main though.

We call them 'linked F2P' (actually noone cares who has linked / veteran / pure F2P account anymore . 'Who is pure' talks finished 4-5 years ago.

We should recreate the F2P&Vet rankings, but this time it’s Pure Unlinked F2P only so I can tell my parents im top at something finally

Twinking was always about supporting your twink with your main... And F2Ps just complain about 29s. Same but different

The point I'm making: being purest of them all is now risking your progression because you loosing control.

I know die hards not gonna change their opinion, hell I was one of them once before bag issue clearly stood between me and becoming even rare.

This is more of an informative asset for new people here to consider if any wish to step on this journey.

No offence but you did ding full bank bags with dk bug.Also even had full account due to bugs if I recall.

Guess in the end things that matter decided by person <3

We agree on this, largely, as it boils down to what each person feels like their goal is. Mine has always been "how far can I potentially take this account without paying". So like... banked experience doesnt bother me. If they throw a free 3 day or even 7 day trial at us, I wont log onto my "mains" but you better bet Im gonna hop on some of my other twinks and push as far as I can for xmogs and achievements and such.

and if my druid and warrior got force leveled during that because of the banked experience, I'd be heart broken but I'd reroll. The account itself is the "trophy", not necessarily any of the characters on it.

So I dont really see it as losing control, but rather a potential thing I'd have to deal with, maybe, at some point in the future.

F2P = pro
Vet = lame

That's the facts, my dudes.

I feel you.

It's hard to point out the aspects why f2p feels like the last true twinking in the game. It's something you learn to understand once you've been through that journey. It's fun to see how much you can get done within the restrictions. One of the most important reasons must be the efford/grind you put into the character 100% yourself without the use of AH. Recipes, mogs, mounts, tabards, crafting materials.. everything. Doing professions from scratch (applying those +1 armor kits, enchant after & finish with herba/alchemy). We took great pride in perfecting our characters and had alot of respect for eachother.

Twinking is a mindset, but honestly i don't think alot of people get that anymore. Times change we could say, maybe cuz things are getting easy.. who knows. Feels like twinks roll out of a factory nowadays.

To me this sounds the same as 29 twinking minus the self imposed extra restrictions of no ah/groups/chats and whatever else. As a 29 I source out the best gear and professions then find a way to get them if there is a restriction or farm them if there is not.

Personally of the small amount of gear I've bought on the ah, it's taken a lot of time to find and then effort from making the gold to buy it. It's taken time and effort to farm 80%-100% of the mats to level engineering across all my twinks as well as alchemy/mining on top of all the professions on different max levels to make anything else I might want/need. Then there is the constant supply of mats needed for consumables, which also seems crazy to me to complain about. My 50%ish win/loss ratio tells a different story about just stomping horde levelers on my op twink.

The idea that you think you are more or better of a twink solely on that or the belief I am 29 to make up for any deficiencies in skill is laughable.

I further more don't understand what seems like a big divide between 20 and 29 twinking(at least on here). In general both are the reason levelers complained so much, my team has been farmed so much by both, just in this situation the 29 was penalized for it. And both are the same thing, a character made to be the best possible with what is available to them.

Not thE right thread I know but those statements annoyed me a little. Sounds like the episode of South Park where kyle moved to Cali and everyone was smelling their own farts.

"Insert rant that I would have made 2 days ago" I would have responded to this thread but the new leadership seems to be deleting accounts without any reasoning or need to justify themselves. I think of them like that council stuff in "Hot Fuzz". "Its for the greater good".

So just imagine a rant.
