fire mage max crit

i played around with sets on my Mage and found the best to be stacking haste, this was a couple days back so everything is from memory and not exact numbers

25% haste
20% crit
10% vers
180-190 spell power
1450 hp
1.8 fireball cast time
1.3 poly cast time

this was just made from stuff in my bags at the time, can probably push better stats if dedicated time to making a bis set

Bit of an old thread but would you say getting as much int as possible and then going Vers > Haste would be good? To maximize the dmg of the Pyro > blast > pyro combo as much as possible? Or is a balance between haste/vers superior?

Cheers!

Are you talking in terms of pugs? If you're doing some solo queue stuff, haste is decent for sheeps (sheeps are vital when making solo plays), but I wouldn't sacrifice vers over it.

For wargames (where you most of the time wouldn't/shouldn't be playing fire), int>vers>haste is irrefutable with approx 1750 HP. You can argue for int>haste>vers for frost in specific strategies where you're like an aids cc machine.

Thanks for the answer!

It is purely for pugs, i myself dont enjoy playing arcane so i thought i would try to get fire to work decently.

1. What kind of SET setups would you recommend to have? I got no problem to get several sets if needed, got the gold/time to spend :).

2. Also what is the general playstyle of fire? like besides the Pyro > blast > pyro combo, how should you generally play as fire?

Cheers!

I would have an int > vers > haste set that I'd play mainly, then a stam > vers set for flag carrying, then a stam > haste > vers set as CC set (cc set probs not as useful as the other)

I'd look to do burst setups as fire. Have the talent that makes fireball crit against targets with 90% hp or more and just swap targets to get the "free" procs and burst whichever target I feel is the best for the situation, and sheep ppl on occasion where it makes sense. I'd use scorch when re-positioning / kiting (because you can cast it while on the move). That's about it in simple terms really.

I went off the deep end. Should really switch out belt and neck, but meh. It doesn't feel horrible, but the amount of hate I got was kind of unreal. Still a fun character to play :D
You'll be unsurprised to hear I find this ridiculous :p

Though I also would like to add to it

Harvester Boots, from an early Westfall quest chain, have 7 crit at 19 ilvl, 10 crit at 25 ilvl, and a whopping 12 crit at 31 ilvl. Even if they don't upgrade, they have more crit than your current boots, and since the purpose of this set is to maximise crit at all costs, purely to see what can be done, I'd say go get them and continue this ridiculousness!

EDIT: Haven't seen you since WoD 39s revival, though I'm sure you've been playing since (It's me that hasn't). Good to be back friend.

I assume you have 2x purple stendel's wedding bands, the link doesnt work

I was running harvester boots, it put me at 52% crit with fire 15% and boots + belt. I think its better to use a real belt and boots tho. Pyros are like 250-300 ish, not insane, again not horrible, but hard to justify playing when arcane exists. Ye long time no see buddy, still remember fucking around on mvqs private server xd
