Let's consolidate brackets so we can get some queues to pop!

If we can build another bracket to pop queues, which bracket should it be? (Pick up to 3)

PSA: EU 70s were dead in the water before this patch. 45mins-1h queues at peak times.

FYI: helium is known to use multiple accounts to get votes cast in his favour.

I'd say 49 or 59. Preferably 59, given the fact wargames have already sparked on an active basis & has a larger following than 49.

Both brackets have very neat proc gear, honor talents, and are easily accessible for rerolls.
59 has more of a "set in stone" vibe as far as gear goes (socket items are a must) whereas 49 has more doors for creativity with the new RNG quest proc scene. I'd like to see either of these brackets grow.

I do enjoy 39, but it offers very little.
and I do enjoy higher levels...however, leveling can be tedious & a majority of players want multiple toons.

49 or 59 are what I suggest.

Not that voting is anywhere near complete, but it seems we may actually have two viable mid-level brackets to choose from! Although it's hard to tell many unique players have voted since multiple votes are allowed, I'm eager to see what transpires.

This is for US im assuming as all of OP toons are from US servers?

Likely, but there is no reason as to why EU players cant host a similar thread.
This may even be a general thing.

Yes, this thread is US-specific, but I assume players in other regions are probably doing the same...although I don't have visibility into that effort, sorry. If they're not, but they care as much about saving their community as the rest of us, then they should be!

Sounds good, was just double checking as ive seen a few EU players in this thread that have probably voted on brackets and all aswell

I don't see point in talking about heal rigging votes, Its the past. lets just move on
Heal does alot for the 70 Community.
People do mistakes, I bet a lot of staff members on here rigged votes in their history of being staff.

On-Topic: 70 for sure =)

Incorrect. Average queue time at peak was anywhere from 10-25mins. 45mins-1hr was either real late at night or real early in the morning.

Don't think anybody in the history of ever has brought that up before to be honest, congratulations.

As someone who plays 70s and 49s, may I offer the following?

You can fully gear a 49 in several hours. With the item level boost to dungeon gear in 8.1.5, nearly all BIS pieces now come from dungeons. I was looking last night at my 49s and realized that most of the stuff I'd bought for my characters was now either inferior to or on par with the ilvl 55 dungeon blues, and inferior in almost all cases to the ilvl 61 epics (blade of eternal darkness, runeblade of baron rivendare, etc.). I confess, this was a little bit of a bummer for someone whose characters had a ton of GFed items that are now just straight-up worse than what you can get in a dungeon run. Oh, well :)

There are some crafted items and world drops that are still solid (especially if your goal is to stack a primary stat), but you can have a very nicely-geared, powerful toon from dungeons alone--especially now that the PvP trinkets are ilvl 50, compared to the 55 of level 49 dungeon blues.

I point this out to contrast with the weeks of running raids required to get close to BIS for a 70--not to mention the insane and costly mats required for things like Spellfire, Whitemend, and other crafted items. Making a 49 is orders of magnitude easier, cheaper, and less time-consuming, and that's not even considering the 21 fewer levels you have to grind.

Food for thought.

Actually, similar to what you describe for 49s, a lot of BiS gear for lvl70s is now from hc dungeons, which can be run daily.

Spellfire isn't actually good. Whitemend is pretty expensive for sure.

In general it's pretty time-consuming to really optimize a lvl70, I agree. There are a lot of items that are "pretty good" however, which means you can have a playable character fairly quickly, albeit not the best it could possibly be.

Spellfire still BiS for Max int/sp and the combination of the two is staggering

I know it's very popular because big numbers but that doesn't mean it's good :)

This isn't really the place to discuss this though so feel free to make a thread in the 70-79 section or DM me.

I think for ease of building multiple toons to get balanced games on both factions, 49’s would be the way to go.

The last time Darkmoon was in town I was able to lvl and start gearing a 49 spriest in like a day in a half...

If this catches on ppl that play 70’s would be hard pressed to step down to a lower bracket. I mean no one wants to give up on their bracket which is understandable. For the sake of activity though something should be decided.

So I would be curious to see what the determining factor on which way to go would come down to. Maybe if some more influential members or mods got behind this effort, we could see some traction on the issue.

Hey guys! So, 59’s. We’ve been organizing daily war games since the patch. 10pm-1am eastern. 10v10+ every single day. As far as I know.. that makes us the most active bracket by far. ;)

Since the day after I posted the poll, I’ve been thinking of what the next step in this process should be. Is this to be the final vetting stage, or should we use the results of this primary poll to populate a general [blind] poll with 2-3 finalists and have players then vote for 1 overall winner?

I’m inclined to think the latter is the better option, since this round was not limited to US players when it probably should have been (not sure how to restrict voting access), people were allowed to vote up to 3 times so the results indicate a range of interest rather than a final choice, and (I’m not sure how valid this is) there have been reports of participants possibly “stuffing the voucher box” with votes from multiple accounts (which I also don’t know how to restrict, but I feel like leaving the poll results hidden until in closed will remedy this a bit); there are more pros and cons, I’m sure, but these are what came to mind in this moment.

While some may think a second vote is too tedious, it can only serve to solidify what we already saw (could be a landslide for the front runner), or given the limited options, some may cast a completely different vote from their original. That said, I am open to suggestions for next steps, so please feel free to contribute!

Also, I 100% agree that gaining the support of mods/admins from this community would greatly enhance our chances of bringing our efforts to fruition, but is anyone willing to step out of the shadows to help champion the cause?! We’ll just have to wait and see...
