It won't because those who won't get the epics from the quests will never be able to do the quests again and before you say "just roll a new character", I'm not going to toss the chars with full tf invasion gear and vanilla gf'd bis set in the trash so I can roll a char that'll get 3 random epics.

He has a point- repeatable quests have had to be removed in the past for gold and guild reputation exploitation. I agree with you though man- im not rerolling. I’ve had my toon over 10 years. But everyone still “grinds” for BiS. Times of old- it was straightforward. Fish until you get a fishing hat. 12 chests for AGM. BiS lists were clear. Now adays, there is a lot of variance in stats (2 agility or 3 Vers 1 crit?), no clear “BiS” items- or if they are BiS they are items like parachute cloak which you can’t expect everyone to be able to find/pay for. As times change, our community has had to adapt. Thing is noting new.

I mean, I get it. I like my characters too. My main has done every. single. quest. available at my level. Im kinda bummed.

But your solution is a nonstarter. It also reeks of sour grapes. This change is SUPER COOL for levelers and nobody except twinks cares how it affects twinks. Not a soul. Not a single dev gives a shit if your titanforged gear from 3 years ago is still relevant or if you can replace it with new gear.

I don't see how this is relevant to gear upgrading in stats, like at all. I love the diversity that we have right now. The issue I have with this system is that some people will get "Everything" e.g. 5-6+ epics just because they got luckier than the people who only got 1 or 2 at best. Thát is my problem with it.

Because you're not being specific at all. They cared enough to give us exp lock and to put us back in the same bracket as levelers. As far as regular players go; the apathy of non-twinks is completely irrelevant to us, they're not the ones designing the game. Activision Blizzard is. If they care even slightly about fair play (as is literally one of their core values and inscribed on the statue in their courtyard) then they should change this system to be less based on sheer stupid luck.

If the chance really is 1/60 as i've read someplace, i forgot where.. then most serious levelers in full heirlooms won't even see a single epic by the time they outlevel the content. What's the point, really.

I have a 19 warrior with full titanforged?

I laugh at everyone that has to cross their fingers and pray that the RNG gods bless them with enough pieces of epic gear to get halfway to matching the gear I've been playing with for years.

Not what I meant but same, I'm gonna laugh so hard if I manage to get a bunch of epics on my 19 warrior.. full TF with the only better items being the epics and the engi headslot.. Time to make people cry.
 
I feel with you dude. I've spent ALOT of time, ALOT of gold on my chars. But nobody gives a fuck. The devs doesn't care about twinks, the people here will tell you to "grind or stop crying". Just do what I did and end the subscription (if twinking is all you're paying for). I personally felt like getting fully bis was half of the fun. But that's impossible now. There will be gear differences, and there's nothing we can do about it (atleast in the "near" future). Twinking was my getaway from the activision slotmachine but they got us. Those are my two cents.

I don't get where people get this from, though. It's true that in vanilla-tbc-wrath they didn't care and seemed like they were very much against our presence however ever since we got exp lock and especially after we were put BACK in the normal pvp bracket with levelers.. what exactly makes it look like they don't care about us? they did more directly FOR us than AGAINST us in recent times.

That's just it, you can't grind these epics if they only come from one-time-only quests. I wish it was grindable.
 
I cannot argue if they do care about twinks or not, since I do not have any inside information on how things are being run in Blizzard. But this seems really counterproductive from a twinking standpoint. perhaps they got a change of heart about twinking? I do not know. I would also be down to be able to grind the bis gear, like we've all done up until now. But how long do you think it would take them to revert or change the system? Imo it's better to just wait a few months and see if things gets better. It's not like they're going to revert the changes instantly because of a few angry voices on a forum post.

Once again I feel exactly how you feel, but we have to be realistic here.
 
Silly idea. Just do your quests and get the best you can and call it good. Be happy if you get any epics. But QQing over losing out on a few item levels here and there on the official forums just isn’t a good look. At all.
 
isn't that how all big changes comes about this game though? Through forum/reddit QQ? :)

In case someone didn't get my sarcasm... I know that's not entirely true.. or is it?

There are going to be people that dó get super lucky. many will end up having 5 or 6 epics, perhaps more. You can't stop that now that this system is going to be implemented.

Others will get one or two at best because they're simply "unluckier".

How is that "better" for everyone? All it creates is a gap between players. Those who get lucky and those who do not.

Check out my armory mate, i'm maxxed. I gain at best 1-5% in stats if i get an epic. There's hardly anything I can replace on any of my twinks.

The insta-grandfathering of per-toon completed quest items (which is essentially what this is) bothered almost nobody until the 8.1.5 introduction of potential BiS status of a given item. This is no different than the limited windows of a given expansion, or the very limited windows of calendar events (like the anniversary dragons and Love is in the Air), or one-time limited windows like the invasion event. Now, suddenly the ultra-limited windows of quest completion, which were always there, is an issue?

Unless someone can explain to me how this is a difference in kind and not degree, then it sounds like some people will finally have to come to terms with the fact that Blizzard grandfathers gear, even when that grandfathering is instant.
