PTR RNG yaaaahOOOO

hopefully it wont take wowhead too long to update.. this is already making my head hurt.

What about BG crate openings... still only blue at best or a chance at epic?... same with dungeon bags?
 
Depending on when they actually implemented this feature, lots of crates were opened on the PTR, no one ever mentioned any of it getting upgraded past the usual norm. Again.... depends on when this went active. Secret-ninja-blizz troll feature.

I cant believe it was on the PTR long, no one saw anything hinting this was coming.
 
Well this is on the ptr but green quest items can go epic indeed. took me about 50-60 tries.

At least we get a look at it, makes doing it or not an easier decision.

@Zirano did you get a lot of rares before the epic? A guess on how many?

Well this just puts it out of reach now for an actual BiS twink... you are in the billions of attempts now to get what you want, if you span it over the course of various quests... and at only one quest per toon... nobody can reroll that much... you will rotate out of BFA before that happens.

Yeah but that's the part I don't like. I would partake in any grind for even the smallest upgrade. but here I have no chanse at all and some random that joined the bracket yesterday and will be gone in a week could get the epic upgrade.

I agree now... greens into epics is a bit much. However farming drops from preset RARE mobs is not that much of a hassle, so we will see. If an epic feathered headdress can go for 2 mil... it will be worth farming it, but if nobody wants to pay that much.. .who gives a shit.

About what? If you are trying to do quests for greens and hope you get that green as an epic at a 1/60 chance (apparently at a minimum since he just showed it took 60 tries to get the EPICpurple Cudgel of Naralex)... and your only option is to delete the toon after you don't get the purple... please let me know what you mean instead of just leaving a blanket statement.

Until enough live testing's been done, we can't categorically rule out world BOEs or BG crate gear being upgradable. Neither was specifically mentioned in the patch notes nor were they farmed enough on PTR to confirm one way or another.

At this point I'm assuming only non-tradable quest rewards can become epic, but its Blizzard and we all know how unreliable these small independent software developers can be. =)

Yeah, I'd be surprised if that goes for 200k. Extremely easy to farm, just camp rare and ask friends on random realms to phase you and pronto. Most expensive items are hard to obtain/require groups to farm decently/gfd.

Uh yeah you can. They ain't gonna just say Quests/Rare can be upgraded to epic, and forget to mention BG crates. With that mindset, dungeon drops might also upgrade to epic.

I think you are grotesquely underestimating the amount of farming there to get the green into an epic just using 1/60 tries on a rare mob, but you will find out.

Nevermind, just saw that you were guessing about what blizzard was gonna do in the previous post. You don't know.
