Top movies?

Go to IMDB.com and check out the top 250 list. Can't go wrong with any of those.

For me tbh the best movie ive watched would probably be Avatar (the blue alien things not that M. Night Shamalabingbang one) cuz the VFX and story is pretty great. And uhhhh if you just like watching big explosions and VFX overload id recommend any of the first 3 Michael bay transformers (all his stories are shit but as an animation student i just love the VFX stuff)

Tons of great movies here, some that I’ve seen and plenty left to enjoy @Tom Ganks mentioned this one earlier (I love your list by the way, I’ve actually seen a fair few of the ones you listed somehow, and the list is A+), but I was glad to see Equilibrium on someone’s favorites. Love that one, but I haven’t watched it in many years so I’m not sure how it stood up to time.

I’ve had a lot of recommendations for Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul as well, so I’m thinking of jumping into that one soon.

I was thinking of some of my current favorites as I was reading through, and a couple that I’d like to share are:

Bojack Horseman (Netflix series, one of the only shows over the last few years that I got into. Can only speak for the first couple seasons, I faded out of it while waiting for the third, but the first 2 are A+ IMO.

High Tension (Horror, but more for the storytelling, I feel like they did a good job with it. I think this was an indie project from France, and it’s a little older, but for its time I loved it.)

Outlaw Star (Anime, very underrated. Used to watch it when I was a kid when it came on Toonami ;P, been meaning to get the dvd set of it)

Tenchi Muyo (Anime, same story as above but this one has more of a rom-com “harem” style/stereotype. I would imagine if you haven’t seen it that it may come off a little cringy but I still enjoy it.)

Silent Hill (The first one). (Horror, but good story more than scares.)

Anything by Ghibli, namely Kiki’s delivery service and Howell’s moving castle.

I’ve always been a big LOTR, Starwars & Harry Potter fan, so I would always recommend those, but if you somehow missed Harry Potter in general please WATCH THE MOVIES FIRST. As someone who read and reread the books first, I couldn’t enjoy the movies fully due to the inaccuracies between the two...but I feel like if you watched the movies first you can kind of like them for what they are without prior knowledge of the series skewing your viewpoint.

I’ve got a lot to work with here, so thanks to everyone for the feedback (especially you @Miles, I’ll get working on your list tonight ;) ), I’ll probably post some updates here and there as I work my way through the list with my opinions on the things I watch, but feel free to keep posting stuff!

watched all the movies listed here .. Independence Day alone i watch well over 50 times .. most movies i have them on my few portable hard drives at home, and i'll load them onto my phones or laptop to watch while i am on overseas business trips, the movies on the flights are just bad, i usually watched the ones in my devices .. and HDMI up with the hotel room tv

equally many times are matrix, lotr, and in particular two, Final Countdown and Buck Rogers .. these 2 are really old movies, Buck Rogers i watch in the theatre over 20 times during the screening period, everyday after class .. cos i fell in love with the beautiful colonel

My old highschool English teacher made us watch Equilibrium because we were reading Fahrenheit 451. Basically a similar society where expressive literature is prohibited and burned.

copyrighted means some region cannot view it ? i almost finish watching it .. find it pretty clear at 1080pHD

copyrighted means some region cannot view it ?

Youtube cant allow it to regions that support the copyright of the owner, I believe. Cuz it's stealing there.

The holder of the copyright hasn't given permission for youtube to allow access to it in those regions, at least, most likely because they're trying to sell some form the movie in those regions and youtube is giving it away for free. A piracy thing.

Or they just didn't give permission for that person to distribute it, especially on youtube. But those usually get deleted.
